The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences have just announced the winners for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.
It was long overdue, but AMC's "Breaking Bad" finally scored the Best Drama series gong after several years of acting only honors. The show also took home a best supporting actress Emmy for Skyler White herself Anna Gunn. If there was a surprise it was that the show's Bryan Cranston and "House of Cards" actor Kevin Spacey lost the Best Actor in a Drama Series honor to Jeff Daniels from HBO's "The Newsroom".
Other big winners were Steven Soderbergh's "Behind the Candelabra" which dominated the mini-series/telemovie category, and Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" which dominated the variety series category.
Other winners were along familiar lines - "Modern Family" winning Best Comedy Series for the fourth year in a row, Claire Danes and Julia Louis Dreyfuss taking Best Actress honors in...

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominations for the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards this morning.
The most notable news was that Netflix's "House of Cards" marks the first series released exclusively online to score nominations in the major categories.
"Game of Thrones," "Breaking Bad," "Homeland," "Downton Abbey," "Mad Men," and "The Good Wife" dominated the drama categories. "30 Rock," "Louie," "Modern Family," "Veep," "Girls," and "The Big Bang Theory" scored numerous nominations for comedy. "Behind The Candelabra," "Phil Spector," "Top Of The Lake" and "American Horror Story: Asylum" dominated the mini-series & movies categories.
Surprising shutouts this year include a massive snub of AMC's "The Walking Dead" and basically all of FX's line-up like "The Americans," "Archer," "Justified" and "Sons of Anarchy". Also missing out are the likes of Rob Lowe for "Behind the Candelabra," Corey Stoll for "House of Cards," Steve Buscemi for "Boardwalk Empire," Julianna Margulies for "The Good Wife,...

Louis C.K.: Oh My God Saturday, April 13 HBO, 10pm Et/Pt To say Louis C.K. has been on a roll is an understatement. The past few years have seen the once-journeyman comic strike it big with a series of highly successful standup specials and a series on FX that has become a bona fide TV revelation. But with the announcement that Louie won’t return until 2014, the best rabid Louis C.K. fans (I’ll unapologetically count myself in that number) have to look forward to is an entirely new hour of standup. Oh My God probably isn’t his best hour — [...]

After unveiling a witty trailer that deconstructed the usual tricks of comedy special promos two weeks ago, Louis C.K. has followed up with a shorter but still very charming spot for "Louis C.K.: Oh My God" that features him providing different reads on and explanations of that title, from stunned to disgusted. The hour-long special, which C.K. directed and executive produced himself, is the comedian's second for HBO -- it was taped at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix in front of a live audience. It premieres Saturday, April 13th at 10pm, but C.K. will selling it on his website, LouisCK.com, for $5 in September.

The winner of three Emmys, Louis C.K. has been on TV screens recently in his self-penned, unique take on a sitcom, Louie. Now, for his fourth stand-up special, he’s taken to a Phoenix theatre to unleash Louis C.K.: Oh My God upon the world.
Filmed in the Celebrity Theatre, the show will cover ‘the food chain, animals, divorce, strange anecdotes, broken morality, murder and mortality.’ To promote the HBO debut of the show, Louis C.K. has given us this Epic trailer:
Although this trailer contains many of the cliches you’d expect to see in a run-of-the-mill stand-up promo, it’s Louis C.K.’s self-deprecating, knowing tone that really sets this apart. And let’s not mention that fact that he’s wearing a suit.
Louis C.K.: Oh My God will be aired in the Us on HBO on 13th April, followed by an online release on Louis C.K.’s website in September.
