It looks like players are going to have to wait a little bit longer before they can storm into the saloon with all guns blazing in CreativeForge Games’ new RPG inspired western, Hard West.
The game was initially cocked and loaded for release on November 4th, but it was announced today, in the form of a clever announcement video, that the title has been pushed back by two weeks, becoming available for PC on November 18th.
The hold-up is said to be due to some last minute tweaking and fine-tuning so that the game is at its best possible level for players to experience. The developers clearly want to polish Hard West as much as possible so that it can compete for attention in the same release window as some much anticipated heavy hitters in the upcoming weeks.
The lead designer of the game, Kacper Szymczak, said the following:

A once great giant of the game industry is seeing slipping sales amid a rcompany estructure and will not be attending this years E3.
According to Game Informer, a representitive from Sega has confirmed that Sega will not be at E3 next month. At least not on the show floor that is.
Earlier this year Sega announced that they would restructure the company and move it's San Francisco offices down to Los Angelos. According to the rep this is one of the reasons why Sega will not be attending the show. The other reason is the fact most of their games are not needed at the show to be shown off just yet.
There is some slightly good news regarding the move though:

24 years after Tremors hit theaters, did you actually think you were safe at last from those pesky graboids? Think again – a remake of the beloved horror comedy still has a pulse and is actually ramping up for production sooner than we had thought. Not that we were asking for one, but it might be fun to revisit the premise with more modern special effects, trading out Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward for two modern-day comedians (anyone else want Key and Peele to take this?).
Recently, Don Michael Smith posted the following to his blog, indicating that Universal is keen on the remake:
Hey all you “Company Of Heroes” fans, I’m back in Sofia, Bulgaria getting ready to do another in the series. This one’s called “The Fourth Reich” and it promises to have more of the same only better. For all you out there that hated on the first movie,...

Deep under the surface of Hollywood ideas, treatments and discarded scripts roams something hideous, gliding blindly and occasionally breaking the surface whenever enough buzz about it is at a certain pitch. It never takes much noise, just the aloud musings of one executive as he ponders, “Reboot.”
Not long ago, the reboot has replaced the remake as the Hollywood trend for critics to complain about. And this most recent news doesn’t do anything to sway opinion toward the positive. Arrow In the Head is reporting that director Don Michael Paul is talking about taking over the Tremors franchise.

There's been talk of a new version of Universal's wormy creature feature Tremors for several years now, but it finally sounds like the wheels are in motion. Filmmaker Don Michael Paul (Lake Placid: The Final Chapter, Jarhead 2: Field of Fire) recently took to his blog with a rather interesting announcement.
"After I finish up Company of Heroes: The Fourth Reich, I will be headed to Johannesburg, South Africa, to reboot the Tremors franchise for Universal. Big year ahead, and I’m excited to keep it going with the support of all you genre movie lovers out there."
In case you've been living under a rock for the past 25 years (yes, it's been that long since the first one came out) Tremors told the tale of the natives of a small isolated town who defend themselves against strange underground creatures which are killing them one by one.

It's no secret that I'm a fan of real-time strategy games, Frank Herbert's Dune, and retro gaming. When you put all of these together, you end up with a classic video game series; which has seen no love or glimmer of hope, in over a decade. It's ashame too, considering many of the Rts tropes we're used to, started with this game franchise. I think it's high time for this property to get the reboot it so rightly deserves, and today, I'm going to tell you exactly why.
First, let me say that for the longest time I didn't even know these games existed. It wasn't until the series was dead that I truly discovered them. However, I've been a massive fan of the book series since I was 10 years old. I've read the entire book series (even the new ones) several times and yes, have enjoyed both versions of...

Despite going bankrupts and being drawn and quartered at auction, things continue to get worse for erstwhile publisher Thq: Sega of America has filed suit against it for over $940,000.
When Thq's assets were sold at auction earlier this year, Sega scooped up "Company of Heroes" developer Relic Entertainment. However, "Company of Heroes 2" was pre-ordered over 20,000 times on Steam between September 2012 and January 2013, generating over $1.3 million in revenue. Valve took their standard 30% cut, leaving Thq with $941,710.93.
Furthermore, Sega claims that $508,877.85 of that was paid to Thq after it formally filed for bankruptcy on December 19, 2012. Now that Sega are publishing "Company of Heroes 2," they want in on the pre-order money.
The claim was filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, and you can read the brief proof of claim here.

There’s something to be said about Relic Entertainment’s decision to focus on the Soviet Army’s brutal Eastern Front during World War II.
In their follow up to the 2006 smash hit Company of Heroes, players assume command of Lev Abramovich Isakovich, a former Soviet officer who was locked up in a Gulag in 1952 after the terrors of war shake his faith in the Soviet cause. Company of Heroes 2 tells Isakovich’s story through a series of flashbacks that force players to break through German lines and culminates in the brutal battle for Berlin.
Digging into the campaign reveals Relic’s attempt to expose players to the terrifying reality that Soviet soldiers faced on the Eastern Front during World War II. Unfortunately, a combination of lackluster cutscenes hinders the narrative that Relic hopes to deliver, and the low resolution 3D models that litter the cinematic moments also hinder the overall presentation level.

Relic's award-winning Rts has returned, and this time it takes in the war on the Eastern Front...
Saved from the abyss of development hell by Sega following Thq's demise, Relic's Company of Heroes series is back in its second outing, and Company of Heroes 2 shifts the focus from the European theatre of war to the brutal Russian conflict.
After initially signing a peace treaty with Russia before the initial invasion of Poland, Hitler decided to make perhaps his biggest tactical faux pas by invading Russia. This not only broke the treaty, but eventually forced the Nazi forces into a conflict that was, for all intents and purposes, military suicide.
Whilst the Germans had the technology, better training and more powerful weapons, Russia had the sheer weight of numbers, and the viciously cold climate, something the Nazis simply couldn't overcome, at least in the long run.

Company of Heroes 2 has received a new developer diary that gives a glimpse into the dark and gritty single player campaign which allows players to assume command of the Soviet Red Army in brutal warfare against invading German forces.
Players will engage in warfare during the beginning of World War II’s most brutal conflict, as Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union’s frozen tundra results in over 14 million military casualties. As you smash your way to Berlin, expect to be engaged in visceral tactical combat that puts the Soviet forces in the spotlight.
The team at Relic is aiming to immerse players in the Red Army’s terrifying reality by taking research intelligence gathered from trips to Europe and attempting to recreate the battlefields that conflicting forces waged war upon. By digging through historical documentation of the conflict, Relic hopes to realistically portray what it would have been like for Soviet Union forces.

It sucked being a soldier in Russia's Red Army during WWII. In spite of its impressive size, the Soviet Union's fighting force was made up disproportionately of the tired, the poor, the uneducated, and the hungry who had to rely on dwindling supplies (one apocryphal story claims that it was one bullet to a rifle at one point) in order to repel Germany's northward assault.
And this is the perspective you get to see in Relic's trailer for "Company of Heroes 2," their Rts sequel out this summer from publisher Sega for the PC.

Based on the popular Sega video game of the same name, Company Of Heroes the movie tells the pulse-pounding tale of an unlikely brotherhood of soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge, making a daring raid into the heart of Nazi Germany to stop Hitler from developing an atomic super weapon. Tom Sizemore (Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan), Chad Collins (Lake Placid 2, Sniper Reloaded), Vinnie Jones (The Tomb, Snatch), Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger, “Band of Brothers”), and Jürgen Prochnow (The Da Vinci Code, Das Boot) lead an all-star cast in the first full-length film based on the popular gaming series, which continues later this...

The latest computer game to be turned into a movie is the best selling game from ‘Company of Heroes’. It’s a real-time strategy game in which you have to navigate your soldiers tanks across maps in order to defeat your enemies coming in at your front the opposite direction.
The new movie has a very Band of Brothers feel to it and actually has one character from that series playing the same role in the movie. Company of Heroes is released on DVD today and stars Tom Sizemore (Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan), Chad Collins (Lake Placid 2, Sniper Reloaded), Vinnie Jones (The Tomb, Snatch), Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger, “Band of Brothers”), and Jürgen Prochnow (The Da Vinci Code, Das Boot).

Not only is Company of Heroes 2 taking players to WWII’s brutal Eastern Front, but it is also hoping to bring fans as close to the action by focusing on realism. The best part of it all has to be the fact that Relic Entertainment has provided a nifty little infographic for your viewing pleasure.
The image highlights the newest innovations making their way into Company of Heroes 2. Relic is going to great lengths in order to distance the game from its previous focus on actions-per minute and resource management. Yet, this is for the greater good and allows for CoH2 to become a game of real-time consequences. Did you think carefully, and quickly, about sending that fully leveled squad of soldiers across that frozen lake? Good, I mean you knew it was an ambush, right?
True strategists will be able to foresee these dire consequences, and make decisions on...

70 years and several wars later, just what is the place of the World War II action film? The genre used to be one of the most reliable gears in the Hollywood machine, but as the Greatest Generation aged and their children grew cynical, portrayals of the war gave themselves over to either intense soul-searching (Saving Private Ryan) or ironic blood-letting (Inglourious Basterds). A Company Of Heroes is a curious thing, taking a number of visual cues from those films (actors from both make appearances here) but wrapping them around a heart so earnest it’s almost as if Vietnam never happened. Had it been sharper technically, it might have been more fun, but as is, A Company Of Heroes feels stranded in time.

Sega announced today that Company of Heroes 2 will invade PCs on June 25th in North America and Europe. The last we heard Thq had the next installment in the Company of Heroes franchise scheduled for a vague “March 2013” release, which means Sega’s new launch date is actually a three month delay. While nobody likes delays, the game did managed break free from being trapped in Thq bankruptcy limbo, so it’s a small price for fans to pay.
“Our acquisition by Sega has given us the chance to work with a new partner that has a great track record of working with long standing PC franchises,” said Jonathan Dowdeswell, Executive Producer of Company of Heroes 2. ”It gives us great confidence to know that we have a well aligned team working to bring the best experience we can to gamers around the world.”

Tom Sizemore has reportedly confirmed that he is up for the lead villain role in The Expendables 3.
The actor told MovieWeb that he could be heading back out to Bulgaria, where he shot Company of Heroes, to film his role in the action sequel.
"I might be going back there for The Expendables 3. I'm up for the lead villain. They shot either the first or the second one there, and they're going back there for the third one," he said.
Sizemore went on to lavish praise on Expendables star and director Sylvester Stallone, calling him "one of the most decent gentlemen" he has every met.
"How about Sly, coming back like that? Isn't that great? He gave me my first real break in Lock Up. I love the guy. He's never, ever turned his back on me," he added.
