Sam gets a letter from the court house for failing to pay a parking ticket past ninety days. He got the ticket because the car is registered to him, but it was actually Sadie who parked illegally and forgot to tell Sam about it. To make up for it, Sadie decides to hire an attorney to help Sam with his case. However she soon realizes that she can't afford an actual attorney, so instead she gets the next best thing... The Voice of Justice!

Sadie just can't say no to the door-to-door salesmen that come around the neighborhood trying to sell stuff. However Sam is determined that the next person who comes to the door to try and sell something to Sadie isn't going to succeed, no matter how many times he has to pitch his product.

Sam wins some money betting on the horses that he wanted to use to buy Sadie an anniversary gift. However Sadie spent the utility money on some new hats, so Sam has to use the winnings to pay the overdue bills instead. When Sam's co-worker Jimmy Biggs calls the house and tells Sadie about the money Sam won, she thinks he's a local gangster that Sam has teamed up with to rob the local bank in order to raise the money.

It's tax season so Sam and Sadie make an appointment with their tax advisor Ralph Tuttle. Every year Ralph gets stressed out reviewing Sadie's tax forms because of the unusual deductions she tries to claim. Sadie wants to get a different person to review their taxes this year so Ralph can take a much needed vacation. So when a college student comes to the door and informs Sadie that he's a C.P.A. doing volunteer work, she asks for his help. But this "C.P.A." doesn't stand for what she thinks it does.
