- The evidence suggests that Sara is guilty of stabbing a man to death in a hotel room, but she insists that somebody is framing her.
- Perfect gentleman Taylor Wynard spots Sara dining alone in a hotel on her birthday, actually distressed over her divorce from Gil which her colleagues still don't know about, and ends up accepting her self-invitation to his room. Next, he's found fatally stabbed there. Her lies by omission render her suspect even in the team's eyes, but they dutifully follow faint indirect evidence suggesting it might be a brilliant set-up by ex-con Ronald Basderic, whom she falsely accused before. Mildly abused by Sara at a meeting she called, he gets a restraining order, which she breaks.—KGF Vissers
- Sara is celebrating her birthday alone in a fancy restaurant and, out of the blue, a handsome man comes to her table and guesses it is her birthday. They drink wine together and when they return to the hotel, she goes to his room on the eighteenth floor. On the next morning, she stumbles upon Greg while leaving the elevator and he tells her that he is going to the eighteenth floor to process a crime scene. Sara goes with him and sees that the man is the one where she had gone to the room. She calls Russell and tells him what happened last night, and he asks her to tell immediately to a detective. The victim is Taylor Wynard and David Phillips counts seven stab wounds on his body, but the knife is missing. However, all the evidence points to Sara. She tells to Det. Lawrence what happened last night and there is contradictory information. When she goes home, she finds the knife in her dishwasher, and the CSIs find photos of Sara kissing Taylor, and believe she is cheating on Grissom. She is forced to say that Grissom and she have separated. When Sara accidentally sees a necklace as evidence found at the crime scene, she realizes that she was framed by Ronald Basderic since she was not wearing that necklace that Edie Graham gave to her. But how to prove?—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Sara is eating alone. Dressed for a party, she watches another group celebrating a happy occasion. A man arrives at her table; she recognizes him as Taylor Wynard who has ordered cake - and wine - to celebrate Sara's birthday. Afterwards, he asks if she'd like to go to his room and Sara accepts. The next morning, Sara is in the elevator when she meets Greg who tells her there is a dead body--on the same floor where Wynard was staying. She goes up with Greg, sees the body of the man who came to her table, and realizes she may be the last person to see him alive. As the clues and evidence stack up, Sara is a suspect. She has not been forthcoming with meeting Wynard before nor has she told anyone that she and Grissom are divorced, but she was hoping he would show up for her birthday. The team is divided on her ability to kill someone yet Wynard had been stabbed the same number of times as Sara's father had been. Sara is sent home where she finds a knife in her dishwasher. Searching her house, Greg and Nick find other evidence. Sara believes she is being set up by Ronald Basderic the man who stalked a friend who worked as a waitress in the diner and was killed earlier. Basderic, according to Sara, is trying to set her up because she (Sara) was trying to help the waitress. Sara confronts this Basceric in a parking garage where a camera tapes the two meeting. Later Basderic appears to have been beaten which leads to Sara being taken in and questioned, dressed in an orange suit like a criminal. Suddenly, Sara's mother is hospitalized as an alcoholic who has been given alcohol by none other than Basderic! The team gets together, check Sara's clothes for blood, and closely views the tape, finally figuring out that she is being set up. Sara waits for Basderic, enters his house, where he pulls a gun on her and since she has come into his house, he can shoot her. As she is saying she doesn't care, he pulls the trigger and nothing happens. The team worked with Sara to turn around Basderic's plans to kill her and they enter with guns. Afterwards, Greg and Nick sit with her to hear about her break-up with Grissom.
