One day, the following act didn't show up, and the couple filled in the time with conversation using Goodman's wit and Jane's facility with malapropisms. The show ran for 15 years, and attempts to revive it in other formats persisted into the 1980s. Goodman also began to write for radio comics and later, television shows; his one attempt at a scripted movie flopped, but starting in 1934, the two of them did a series of short subjects for RKO.
