Obnoxious bottom Feeders. 👎
sysgoddess10 April 2023
I can't imagine this is a real show given the lack of knowledge and professionalism displayed by the hosts. The hosts are both obnoxious but the husband maybe more so. She's loud, self entitled, whiney and cheap looking / acting.

In the most recent episode, S1 E7 - Storefront Setback In Somerset, he asks her about her preferences and if she wants "grids" in the windows. FYI, those grids are called muntins and even a bottom feeder 'investor' should know that.

They're doing just cosmetic work unless forced by code to actually repair something that doesn't add to buyer appeal and I have a very difficult time believing they're able to keep workers at a site performing work overnight as they have on a previous episode with people living on either side without facing steep fines over noise, refuse, traffic and parking issues.

I hope this is just another unreal "reality" show with the hosts being nothing like their on air personas but A & E must be scraping the bottom of the barrel to find these people and this show otherwise.

Is this a satire?

What TF have I watched? This show takes the prize for fabricated, over-the-top, contrived controversy. The host is horribly abusive; blames and screams at the subs. Are they really licensed or are they just paid to be humiliated and insulted? No contractor I've ever had would put up with this BS.

If you watch other reno shows, you know there is no way they can properly repair problems uncovered in just 24 hours. As Mike Holmes would say, "This is nothing but putting lipstick on a pig". Are there no building codes and inspectors in New Jersey?

Home buyers beware! I hope these guys have good attorneys and liability insurance.

Better TV than Flips

Putting all these contractors on top of each other is a recipe for disaster, which of course is a recipe for good reality TV. Not sure the houses are as good as I'd want as a buyer, but still better than I could do myself.

I like the show's concept. It does seem a little short-sighted for so many other flips to last for months, with or without permits issues. 24 hours is deceptive, however. It's two days of 12 hours each, which is more reasonable.

I think they're all good people, but the stress brings out the worst in personalities, so it makes the husband especially not likable as a boss. If I'm working 12 hours straight & all I hear is complaints before I'm even done, I'm not going to be inspired to work harder. The harsh NJ personalities can grow on you if you binge watch, as I did. Maybe that's why my rating is so much higher than others'. Gotta give it a chance.
