Try-hard, disappointing attempt at Kiwi relevance

I had to pay for this via my Sky subscription. I was hoping for an Auckland Daze or Wellington Paranormal.

I'll give it one more episode and will change my rating if it improves.

Maybe there is a viewing market for this. Sorry but I'm not in it. I'm going to repeat this review below to meet the minimum character rule.

Repeated to meet min characters.

Below avegerage, and unrelatable

Bouncers in NZ are absolute w@n***s so i found this show extremely unrealistic for a start. They aren't your funny, relatable samoan characters in rl. Sadly they're usually just sad people on a power trip because they don't have power anywhere else in life. Maybe this show should have been a tragedy instead.

A lot of cringe factor involved as well with this series. Unfortunately not in a funny or good way. I felt like this show was trying very hard to be something like every other "comedy" that has come out of new zealand in the past two decades. The problem is that times are changing and NZ "comedy" is still stuck in 2012. However, it didn't even quite end up meeting that standard. Try again next time.

Absolute classic NZ humour

This is a typical New Zealand humour series. It's funny, droll, sarcastic, dry, silly humour. There are so many high points! Each episode is only eight minutes so it's a good quick story but by the end of the series you feel like you know the characters. If you have watched Eagle vs Shark, What We Do in the Shadows or Flight of the Concords then you will start to recognise NZ humour. It's not laugh soundtrack humour, it's a one liner that will make you laugh out loud and you will share with your friends and it will become an in joke for years. I really liked this series, I'll rewatch it and I hope they do a second season. The characters deserve to keep going and we need to see what's next for them!
