A cinematic series based on a true story.

Wow! Exceptional direction, stunning costumes and amazing cinematography!

From start to finish, it envelops the audience in the world of the early 1900s on the island of Cythera and every frame is meticulously crafted to create an immersive and awe-inspiring experience.

Each scene is well composed, with careful attention to detail and a keen eye for elegance and art direction.

The costumes are superb and create a feast to the eyes. Every color and fabric blends into the wonderful scenery successfully.

Set on the picturesque island of Cythera, this series, based on a true story, introduces us to a humble and kind-hearted shoemaker who becomes the victim of false accusations that tarnish his reputation and shatter his peaceful existence.

As the plot unfolds, we witness the devastating consequences of the accusations as the local community turns against him, forcing him to uproot his life and seek solace in the bustling city of Piraeus.

Life in the big city does not turn out as he expects. He is wrongly imprisoned and his rage grows even more. After his release, he returns to his village and seeks revenge.

People's opinions determine our lives

Warning: Spoilers
So I dont usually write reviews but I thought that this mini-series is a good start. All in all a very good tv series with costume design and performance at its peak for greek television and cinema. You don't see often efforts by Greek directors to create a historic based movie making this series notably original.

'17 klostes' gives you the vibe, the tension of the era (20th century) in an island of Greece, with its small community and activities that determine the personalities and daily lives of our protagonists. A man different from the rest, talented and handsome is being targeted and blamed for something that did not do and this event determine his entire life.

It's interesting how the opinions of others can still impact our lives and decisions, like in the series, although maybe not as much nowadays. In the past, the significance of others' opinions held immense weight, capable of either elevating one to greatness or causing complete ruin.

Finally, I hope in the future we see more historical based movies from Greek directors, since Greek history can provide us with many historical events and moments that can create very enjoyable and beautiful movies.

Society defines us all

Great job guys ! Very sad story. He could have had a happy life but when all odds are against you it can destroy you sometimes. He killed the wrong people though but he didn't know who started his downfall.

Humans have always been and will always be like this. Judging others, being jealous of others, and talking about others people lives in order to avoid using their energy to make theirselves better human beings. Because being human and human being are two very different things. Of course murder is not the solution but when someone is desperate you never know the turns it can take.

Great acting and great directing. Nice atmosphere and beautiful photography. Sadly a true life story.

Brilliant, not for the faint hearted

Brilliant from start to finish, exceptional.

Another perspective from the author of the book (Mr Dimakis) to the tragedy that took place in Cythera.

The acting was fantastic and the scenery, music, photography were great, at least for my taste.

Although it is very discomforting the fact that everything that could have gone wrong, did eventually go, and you cannot help it and feel sorry for the protagonist despite the fact that there is no justifiability for his actions in the end.

Really big fan of the nihilism ideas.

Definitely a series worth more attention for the international stage and not merely just for the greek screens.

The director exceeded all expectation and for my taste it is the probably the best greek tv series which has been broadcasted to day.

Congratulations to everyone who participated as well as the writer of the book, who brought this masterpiece to life.

On another note I will only watch comedies for the next year to ease the pain in my heart and soul.
