I downloaded the 1st two episodes and I didn't watched it for weeks bcz I was already watching other 3 drama and I read reviews and didn't find like my type.... Then accidentally I started watching the first episode and within just 5 min I loved it more and more.... I spent 112 rupees to download it in HD and watched every single episode with no skip , I even left Watching other good drama for this.. The storyline, characters, actors ,acting , plot , suspense, twist ...it was all top notch.... I didn't thought it to be fun but it turns out be real fun with natural flows...

THE BEST DRAMA OF 2023 in all Genre.... It will give you positive energy and sounded mind ... And I am glad that this is my last drama I'm watching.... Yes! After watching this I decided not to watch anymore drama .... Focus in dream , life and be positive.... I decided to rewatch only MERLIN and STAY WITH ME , till half a year and live my life with all fun.

Shang Yin (2023 Censored Version)
cahidi24 September 2023
This remake of Shang Yin's banned version due to their country's homophobia, isn't bad at all. If you ask me, the execution of the drama was way more elegant than Shang Yin. The family drama was so heartfelt and tear-jerking, unlike Shang Yin which was more heavy on the same sex love story than the family drama. But maybe I've made some harsh judgement considering it was banned before it can reach it's completion. So for this version I was initially gonna give it 9 stars. I deducted 1 star because of it's censorship. If you like watching unspoken relationship and commitment, then you'll like the BL aspect of this series. I don't, it just gave me an itch that I can't scratch. The BL aspect of this series is so timid that you won't realize that it's a BL series if you didn't know the original version of this series. After all this time, China is still homophobic, it's so pitiful and pathetic. Oh, well. I guess there's nothing more can be expected from communist countries. At least being gay isn't a crime in China. Unlike in Russia. Communism is so depressing. May soon it disappear from the face of the earth.

Excellent !
Philecho27 September 2023
I absolutely loved it ! Yes it's censored by the very open minded Chinese communist party which tells a lot about those people.... so no kiss, but this being said, everything is excellent. The 2 leads actors are just lovely. And even the secondary actors are very good.

The cinematography is also very good.

Do I find in it some flaws? The blue screen on the beach near the end... And, the ending is a bit too steep. It is good to have a cliffhanger but this too much for our little heart to take.... The authors of this drama should have considered a little more how much an audience can take when they are very much invested in their caractors.... At the very least they should make official right now that there will be a season 2!

Not just a remake
niso-8203516 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Like all BL fans, who loved "Addicted", the last Chinese BL series before the government banned the genre, I was skeptical when a new adaptation of the first book of the novel "Are you addicted?" was announced, especially as it was again a Chinese production. "It won't be BL, it'll be bromance at best," was what everybody thought and wrote, and when the series was released, BL fans were discussing for weeks whether this series was BL or not.

Honestly, I don't care what people call it. If you think, a BL series needs NC scenes or at least passionate kisses, then this may not be a BL series. But if yearning and loving glances, mutual unconditional trust, and some hints that the boys may have done more than just hug is sufficient for a movie or a series to be "Boys Love", then this series is BL. Plus - "Stay with me" has a lot of allusions to LGBTQ+ symbols, and so I guess it is as far BL as Chinese censorship lets pass.

Anyway, it took me a couple of weeks until I stopped comparing "Addicted" and "Stay with me". I love both series, and "Stay with me" isn't just a remake, but a work of art of its own right.

"Stay with me" tells the story of Su Yu (Zhang Jiong Min), a very good student, who lives with his poor father after his mother left them when he was little, and Wu Bi (Xu Bin), the son of a rich father, who happens to have married Su Yu's mother, a fact which the boys only find out after some time. Su Yu and Wu Bi go from enemies to friends, back to enemies, and back to very good friends who share a flat. The ending is tragic, but as there is a second book, and as the director announced that there would be a second season, there is hope to see Su Yu and Wu Bi together again.

Zhang Jiong Min and Xu Bin are brilliant actors, and they have an amazing chemistry. For all the support roles, very good and experienced actors have been casted, and little Phoebe, who plays Duo Duo, is a natural for sure and steals many scenes.

'Hao de huai de bu chung yao, zhiyao women zai bichi zuoyou'
sreelekhaburla23 October 2023
I had been watching snippets of this drama on my Y0*t*be recommendations for a while. It is remake of 'Heroine' 2019, original work by Cha JiDan. I ventured not having expectations from fresh faces. Often easy viewing storylines with slice of life genre are remade into multiple languages. Most of the times, first made is the best. However this series was spared the fate 'Addicted' met with, owing to the ending that was intelligently rounded to appease the government. Comparatively, this is an elaborate version diligently filmed upon circumstances of the characters rather than accentuating bold sodomy as in the earlier case. Xu Weizhou and Huang Jingyu looked quite mature for school uniforms but apparently that aided in filming sensor frames without having to be bothered of legal issues. Their chemistry would easily surpass that of these youngsters. Even on the scale of charm and popularity, former wins, undoubtedly. 'DuoDuo' and her friend are too adorable. Xiao Huan, in my opinion, should be casted as 'Hong Er ye' if ever another series from Dao Mu Biji is made based on the 'Mystic Nine'. Ending was heart warming. Overall a clean drama suitable for all ages.

Family Drama that is Universal
terrus-657024 April 2024
The script, the actors, the music, the plot twists made this film unforgettable for me. Real life as reflected in this film can be so hurtful and ugly, but if you live long enough to forgive people, you can find so many moments of happiness. The script writers crafted a story of the two boys and their family loves and conflicts that was heartfelt and satisfying in many ways. But there has to be a second season. How do the boys find each other again?

Highly recommended to audiences of any age or nationality. I am American and learned a lot about Chinese culture and background. I believe that the family values displayed in this movie are universal.

Nice until the end
mikemcdo25 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Cute family relationship story displaying that after initial antagonism, a gradual development of a closer than usual friendship between two school boys occurs. A type of love appears to emerge between them, certainly anything but a gay friendship, but this culminates in tragedy in the end. Just like Hollywood films in the past, portraying versions of same sex attraction always ending in "justifiable" killing of the deviates in the end. The interesting thing about this rather long series is that a lot of time, effort and money obviously went into making it. But do tragic endings at the end of long stories really appeal to audiences? The IMDb scores suggest otherwise.
