First cinema out of directors family line---debojyoti 7

Nandita and Shivprasad created the first cinema out of their family line. Can't be called a complete success. The script didn't have that strength. But they are completely successful in the message they tried to convey to the society.

Although the movie has no pace in the beginning, the pace of the movie increases with time.

But what is most commendable is that they have got good performances from unknown actors/actresses. Every song in the film is very good. Ankush's dance is very good. Performances of anonymous actors have attracted more attention than famous actors. When Ambrish was given so little space, some other new actor could have been given a chance.

More than a festive Movie

When you obsessed with similar types of movies and try to taste a new flavor of movie.... then suddenly a movie came from old genra and silently stars blowing everyone's heart' ... this movie perfectly matches with those words.

The movie starts with a minor criminal activity and cops, and gradually become greater. This is a festival time movie which shows authentic events of durga puja. Home coming of a man. The chemistry between a brother and sister is shown perfectly. The rich bengal culture is shown here it will make you amaze. Also there is some spices of conflicts of central and state police and then becoming a team. Also little bit love chemistry is there but not too much as it's a life action movie. Which shows a fine direction of a director.

As this is a action, thriller, and festive drama movie.. every character is important here.. casting is absolutely awesome. Every cine is very important here. So go with some one or alone 🙂 it will make you feel amazing.

Vintage Duo is back with a bang

Shiboprasad-Nandita duo is a prominent name in the Bengali film fraternity. They started their career with some groundbreaking movies that were ahead of their time. Gradually, their work became monotonous and somehow lingered in the family drama genre. After a long hiatus, they made a comeback with a social-thriller named 'Raktabeej,' featuring an ensemble cast, including the ace actor Victor Banerjee, Anusuya Majumder, Kanchan Mallick, Abir Chatterjee, Mimi Chakraborty, etc. In this tumultuous time when directors are often hesitant to create political films, the director duo showed their courage by choosing a bold subject against the backdrop of the Khagragarh blast. The screenplay and editing of this film are top-notch, and the supporting characters have done an excellent job. The music, while good, sometimes hindered the pace of the film. The linear screenplay is perfectly matched with the festive mood. This movie raises a valid question: 'Is forgiving always the right decision?' Kudos to this director duo for bringing us such unique content in Bengali cinema. I'm eagerly awaiting its sequel.

CINEMA MEETS REALITY!

Raktabeej is not just a film! Raktabeej is an experience, where cinema meets reality. And this merging is seamless! It is really amazing how the directors have blended the flavours of Durga Puja with that of suspense. The details of puja days, the rituals, the rural flavour s and flamboyance on one side and ruthless remains of a blast, the trauma, the loss on the other side. And all seem real. It is indeed a surprise package from Directors Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee. The directors who have always made films based on emotions and family ties, have come up with a film that blends the genres of thriller and emotions so effortlessly! Kudos to the directors.

Raktabbej is larger than life

Raktabeej is larger than life! Raktabeej is real! It is not just a movie but an encounter with the reality, where you get to re-live a shocking incident, that shook Bengal during the pujas, a few years back. Victor Banerjee's portrayal of Our late President Honourable Sri Pranab Mukherjee is utterly convincing. The terror is real! On the other hand, the joy of homecoming is real, too. The joy of meeting your sibling after a long time is real and the emotion of their bond touches you! And it is here that the directors have delivered the masterstroke! They have successfully retained the emotional aspects of their film, even while delivering an edge-of-the-seat thriller! Kudos! Raktabeej is a must-watch!!

Raktabeej is the best!

Raktabeej is a movie based on true incident. This is not just a movie which you watch and forget! This movie is not like any other film but something that brings out a mixture of all emotions. You start living with the characters. The way they have blended their genre of showcasing emotions with the touch of thriller is absolutely outstanding. They very well understood the term Audience's pulse when it came to taking up this risk of creating something outside their genre. This movie is really something that brought about the best climax. I must say that after Muktodhara and Gotro, it is one of their best creations ever.

What a masterpiece #Raktabeej is! Riveting to the core amidst the scents, flavors and colours of Durga Pujo.. Brilliant direction, delightful performances by each and everyone..🙌 Perfect casting in each and every role.. Could not take eyes off Abir Chatterjee even for a single second.. literally got me planning on my next visit to watch Pankaj Sinha in action, expression, and body language..💖💖💖 Mimi Chakraborty is a class apart as Sanjukta! Mesmerized by her screen presence..😍 Hugely enjoyed #Raktabeej with family and friends.. Thank you team.. Here's to more ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and cheers! A film that merits re-watch at the theaters.. brilliant!

Is this what you call a thriller?

The film lacks the sincerity and seriousness it required. Except for the climactic portions, the rest of the movie is filled with tonal inconsistencies that are quite jarring.

The writing mocks the situation at hand, completely disregarding the seriousness and reality of the grim circumstances involving the president of our nation.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not against having some humorous bits in an investigative thriller, but it should be done in a subtle and believable way.

I mean, seriously, in what world does an inspector in charge of a police station crack jokes on his way of investigating a blast site?

And in what reality do the Superintendent of Police and the head of a Central Investigation Agency engage in playful banter when they have a critical mission and lives to save?

And let's not get started on the fact that there are no background checks on the President's housekeepers.

I mean, come on! This was supposed to be an edge of the seat thriller, not a freaking joke!

A best movie gifted by Windows ,RAKTABEEJ

Today I watched 'Raktabeej' movie with my family. For those who want to watch this movie during Pujo, please go and watch the movie with the whole family... Nandita-Siboprasad directors duo has given us such a wonderful movie named Raktabeej. In one word it is 'amazing'. It is in line with the reality, And what about Victor Banerjee? He is just "wow" There was no turning back. Every character in the movie gives their all and made the movie real.

Everything you need to watch a movie is in this movie, now the question is why should you go to see Raktabeej?

Number one: Casting of the movie. The artists who worked in this movie. From child artistes to famous artists, everyone's work was amazing.

Number two, you can confidently say that you have never seen this kind of Bengali movie before, leaving the cinema hall.

Number Three: The amazing songs of the movie touched the hearts of the audience. Like "Govinda Daanth Majena"...the young generation started dancing in the theaters when the song started.

Number four: The action in this movie is really good. There is no excess in the action. The subject matter is presented very nicely. The action was presented very nicely.

Plus you get Kanchan Mallick..the job of making you laugh beautifully at times, he does it expertly.

And talking about the climax...couldn't believe your eyes at the end. I felt breathless...you can't expect what's going to happen.. Where the movie reaches at the end...must know. Book tickets and watch the movie in theaters...'Raktabeej' will not disappoint you.

Partly Engaging Thriller

So if Abir's character has shown the women's photos who work in the president's sister's house and asked who Rabeya is among them to the women they have captured, there wasn't a need for a second half. Abir's character is supposed to be a genius but misses this. During thrilling moments, the movie often cuts between to show what's happening at the president's house, or rather, the conversation between brother and sister. Satyam is arrested, interrogated, and kept on hold, and coincidentally, he gives the major clue to the cops right on the day of Doshomi. This movie rides high on coincidence. Except for performances from every actor and some engaging moments, this movie is absolutely average. Better than Dawshom Obotaar, but that isn't saying much.

A Best Bengali Thriller Movie

I am in love with Pankaj Singha aka Abir Chatterjee. Not only is he looking dapper in the film, he is every bit the investigating officer --- his heart and mind in place. It broke my heart to see him leave Bengal, it felt as if this is his workplace, this is his home, this is what he yearns for. I want to see more and more of him in the coming days, films etc etc.

I don't think Bengal has ever produced content like this --- so real, so hard-hitting yet so entertaining and without one single dull moment. Finally, we are maturing as a film industry and delivering contents that are on a par with any national OTT. Will want to see more of this police team and a franchise should be built around it.

Durr Bakachand. That's the latest addition to my dictionary and also a current favourite. How intelligently the makers have woven this word into the script and I am amazed by how many times and how differently each time this word has been used in the film, without offending anyone. From sweet to bitter, angry to loving, this word has had different connotations everywhere it has been used.

It's a completely new story in the backdrop of Bengal. I have never heard of such a story, never saw it on the screens here. It has the promise of the best on OTT and that of an entertainer in theatres. I was transported to a different world while watching Raktabeej. I was also moved to tears to see the family bonding between the Rashtrapati and his sister and their contribution in the lives of others.

Gripping intense political thriller!!

Film Review: Bengali Film Raktabeej streaming on Hoichoi!!

Based on the Burdwan blast in West Bengal, Raktabeej is a gripping political thriller by director duo Nandita Roy - Shiboprasad Mukherjee.

Victor Banerjee , who plays the President of India ( has a strong resemblance to Pranab Mukherjee) who has rejected a mercy petition which leads to hanging of a terrorist ( Afzal Guru ) is due to return to his hometown for Durga Puja .

Meanwhile a blast in an illegal fireworks factory in the remote village of Khoyragarh is more than what it seems and is linked to a sinister & audacious plot to assassinate the President . No one can be trusted as there might be insiders involved in the conspiracy.

It is up to police officers Abir Chatterjee & Mimi Chakraborty to piece together the clues and prevent the tragedy.

The script is tight , narrative-fast paced which makes it an edge of the seat political thriller . The songs too compliment the storyline perfectly.

Special mention for the chemistry between veteran actor Victor Banerjee & Anashua Majumder ( who plays the President's elder sister) . Their bond has been very well portrayed. Abir Chatterjee is brilliant as usual . Mimi Chakraborty has a role on par with Abir. Their banter, nok-jhok throughout the film is pleasing to watch. Grt camaraderie indeed. Kanchan Mallick as the local investigating officer steals the show with his funny one-liners which will make u laugh out loud for sure. There are others in the cast who also lend strong support to the main cast !!

There is an interesting cameo by Ankush Hazra and a male item no. Too !!

The climax has been brilliantly conceived & the final reveal is well worth the wait !!

The sheer deviousness of human nature will surely send a chill down ur spine!!

The ending has been kept open for a sequel !! Waiting eagerly for it !! Shonada ( Abir 😊) we love u !!

Honest, Blunt, Upfront, Unbiased & Impartial One-Liner Review

#Raktabeej : Fabulous Cinematography, Crisp Editing, Fantabulous Music & Gripping Screenplay with a Superb Narrative Style, twists and turns till the end. #AbirChatterjee, #MimiChakraborty, #DebasishMondal and #UmaBanerjee stole the show eclipsing others, even #VictorBanerjee and #AnasuaMajumdar. #KanchanMallick, #ParometaMukherjee & #DevlinaKumar has their moments though. #MaulikGhosh needs to be praised with special mention. But #SatyamBhattacharya, #KanchanMallick, #SubhaRanjanMukherjee & #AmbarishBhattacharya has been a miscasted and wasted as a whole. But #TanusreeShankar has her presence amply felt in her brief cameo, just because of the character of whom she has played ... #AnkushHazra has his moments in the foot-tapping item number ( and may be many more which u had to check out urself ). Well, must say, it has got one of the best Climax sequence ever in the recent Bengali films been shot. Kudos to the director duo #NanditaRoy & #ShiboprosadMukherjee and co-writer #ZiniaSen for making a such a brilliant and well-made, social-awareness and relevant Film. Indeed it will attract repeat audiences too. A must-watch this puja. It is a perfect Puja Film and truly a Game-Changer.

Paisa wasool . Expectations met

A movie so real, I clung to my seat even in the interval. Intense and jaw-dropping. I can still recall my goosebumps. The movie brings to life the true incident of Khagragarh and shows us a glimpse of the grim reality we have been deliberately overlooking.

Careful plans that enemies of our country and our sovereignty hatch each new day have been wreaking havoc on our soil for many years. The pampering of these divisive forces that try to use liberalism and humanism as a shield is what has led to this terrible condition in the state. Justice sits a mute spectator when enemies from across the border can come and threaten the life of our esteemed President in his home state on an occasion as auspicious as Durga Puja.

The fiends who hatch these terrible plots and heinous crimes need to be given exemplary punishment and all voices that defend them should also be taken note of. The disease is a life-threatening one and is spreading like an infection. Diagnosis has been delayed for long enough.

The acting was superb. Abir, Mimi and Victor Sir were fabulous in their respective roles. More power to you. I thank the directors for giving us a dose of much-needed reality check that we had been denied for long. What is the use of cinema if it does not deliver content that educates? This cinema truly educates us to the dangers that staying passive and timid and ignorant to the known threat have invited. It is a wake up call for all. Jai Hind. Jai Bharat. Vande Maataram.

A circus of comedy thriller with loud music

Worst action movie in the history of Bengali cinema. Pathetic direction. The directors should stick to their nonsense serial-like family drama. I am not saying family dramas are bad. But 'their' family dramas. Their experiment with this genre ruined my 'Ashtomy' eve. In this era of smart presentations of web series and films, these circus-like Bengali movies make me feel sad. Even an episode of crime patrol is 100 times better than this movie. Unnecessary noisy music, non-sensical comedy and blabbering dialogues from beginning to end of the movie failed to entertain.

When making a movie please keep in mind that a person is spending some hours with your work, try to give them back a quality time.
