The Pies in this top of the table clash without perhaps their three most important players, in Daicos, De Goey and Moore. The Lions gets the opening goals in the 3rd, but the Pies respond with a quick flurry of 4 goals in a row. Brisbane's small-forwards stem the tide though. Mihocek with a good kick from outside 50 and then a good contested mark and converts another, cutting the deficit to 12 going into 3-quarter time. Brisbane kick the lead back out again in the 4th and go on to win by 24 points. Collingwood were marginally ahead in the hit-outs, the clearances even, the Lions a bit more of the footy via foot. Brisbane with 8 more inside 50's, for 4 more scoring shots and accurate on goal. McCluggage best afield, with 20 disposals, 5 clearances, 7 inside 50's and 4 assists. Hipwood 3 contested marks and 3 straight goals. Coleman 21 disposals, 2 contested marks, 7 intercepts, 600 metres gained, a goal and an assist. Neale 31 disposals, 10 clearances and 431 metres gained. For the Pies, Elliott 2 contested marks, 5 tackles and 3 goals.
