Forensic biologist Inga Ehrenberg is so busy with her work at the Forensic Medicine Institute that she initially doesn't notice how lonely she is after separating from her husband. Only when her father claims that she has a half-sister and a falconer asks her to take care of a young falcon does she end up in a whirlpool of long-hidden, painful feelings. She begins to tame the falcon, convinced that the bird will never leave her. Meanwhile, she has to deal with the discovery of a dead baby, whose identity seems unclear, and two other cases.
