Finally!

Warning: Spoilers
I used to be a huge fan of The Simpsons in the 1990's. Seasons 1-8, and to some extent Season 9, pretty beats every other bit of animation ever made. However, the rot started to set in the second half of Season 9, and from Season 10 onwards the show went completely downhill. And nowadays it is pretty much just a soulless, unfunny, lazy shadow of it's former self, with only the occasional good episode every season. A bit like Family Guy (which makes me a bit worried for the upcoming crossover between the two shows).

However this very hyped up episode managed to actually live up to the hype, and is possibly one of the strongest episodes of The Simpsons since the late 90's. OK, the plot wasn't nearly as good as any of the episodes from the show's golden age from seasons 2-8, as the main characters still haven't been improved on much. However, the plot was entertaining with a good enough message behind it (that it is better to live in the real world than fantasy land).

The best thing about this however was the production values. The animation here was very impressive and managed to be nearly up to the standard of The Lego Movie. The Lego world is also very detailed, with no one being able to die or grow old or even get injured, and even having their own religion. I also managed to get a few laughs out of this episode.

So well done for giving us an actually good episode, and if it were up to me, this would be the final episode of the show, to give it a fitting send off rather than much of the dross the show craps out these days.

Nice!

After waiting for this episode I must say that I'm not disappointed of it's presentation I mean wow...just wow! This truly was a creative and great idea from the Simpsons crew to present us an unusual episode with everyone turning into the lovable Lego bricks and characters from my childhood.

Although before watching the episode I just want to remind everyone that the episode does not copy "The Lego Movie" that came this year, in fact the writers have explained that they didn't even know there was a movie when this episode was in progress since it took roughly 2 years to work with. Even though in my view it had a few similarities it was definitely not a rip-off.

Anyway I am surprised how the episode really focused so good on the Lego theme, there were funny moments revolving the Lego as how they work and giving some nice self-referential humor. But what I really liked about the episode was it's good-spirited message with the relationship with Homer and Lisa. Although I know that has been done a few times but this time it didn't feel tedious or something for the sake of it.

Good work writers of the Simpsons I never thought I'd see this kind of episode in my life at all. In my personal opinion I think this could be the best episode so far, it even surpasses the God-awful episode "Lisa Goes Gaga" and truly shows how good-spirited the Simpsons can be.

Is it recommended? Certainly, go ahead and take a look! It was definitely worth watching.

Entertaining to watch, but not as brilliant as it looks.

It was already being made before The LEGO Movie. It had a nice plot about Homer wanting to live in a LEGO world forever with Lisa after she went out to a PG-13 film called The Survival Games with three slightly older girls, and a subplot about Bart having to rebuild Springfield Elementary School the way he wanted to before Skinner made him rebuild it the right way. Unfortunately, it doesn't really live up to its potential because - 1) Homer just says how he feels without really getting bored of doing the same things in the LEGO world, and 2) A film that was supposed to be a spoof of The Hunger Games was made too much to resemble Twilight by removing the child-murder aspect of the story.

That being said, I still found Brick Like Me to be a lot better than Barthood, especially when Bart came to help Homer in the climax, but it's still kind of sad how they both use a creative setup to get away with acting just as cliche as most bad modern episodes and have to tell us everything the characters feel with or without showing it.

A Sweet and Beautifully Animated Episode,

Brick Like Me is a brilliant Simpsons episode with a very well written storyline and loads of very funny scenes throughout. This is the shows milestone 550th episode, and they picked a good subject matter to focus on,Homer and Lisa's relationship, but they explored it in a very different way,in a world where Springfield is made out of Lego and no one grows up.I loved seeing the Simpsons in this new animated style, the animation was so wacky and beautiful and it really reminded me of the Lego Movie, this also had a very heartwarming message that was sweet and didn't feel forced like it did in the Lego Movie. Brick Like Me is a definite highlight of the 25th season.

After a toy he bought for Lisa triggers a flashback of a different realty,a Homer living in a Lego universe begins to suspect that his world myth be fictional.

Brick Like Me is a wonderfully animated, heartwarming and well-crafted experience that is bound to make you laugh.

Easy 9/10, would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great modern Simpsons episode.

It's not funny though if it was funny it'd definitely be a 10/10.

The story with Homer and Lisa is pretty sad and heartwarming.

I wish people appreciated what Lisa and Homer created because it looked pretty impressive.

I wish that this much effort was always put into modern Simpsons.

Disappointing

Warning: Spoilers
I thought this was going to be one of my favorite episodes, but I was wrong. This episode came out in May and I was looking forward for it from when I first heard of it. I am normally a Simpsons fan and I was looking forward for a creative, funny, and epic Simpsons episode. When it came out, it was a big disappointment because this episode was actually about Homer thinking his Lego world is not real. The idea is creative, but another disappointing part is that I was expecting a big Lego war, they have that, but they only spend little time on it. I just can't believe I had been looking for this great episode and all I get was an episode with Homer thinking his Lego world isn't real. The Simpsons episode crossing over with Futurama is a better special than this.
