Thrilling and entertaining with loads of very graphic bloody violence (be aware)
hanalisss20 December 2023
The drama is entertaining for sure. The pace is fast, acting is good and has an original concept.

Crazy plot twists and not predictable at all but the last plot twist was too unbelievable. I mean this wasn't a believable drama from the start, a bunch of students get stuck in a youth center and they are forced to start playing a game where they have to kill each other to survive.

Until then everything is good and although there's a few holes in the plot, you can ignore them and enjoy the action and rhythm of trying to figure out who are the bad guys and who will die every night ( be aware there's many very graphic violence and blood in this drama and they are not subtle showing them....)

But then towards the end there's a major change/twist in the plot that it's so unbelievable crazy, I am not sure it works for me. I feel like its the typical kdrama storyline of guilt tripping mixed with revenge koreans love so much and it just frustrates me.

Regardless, I think the ending is very fitting and I don't think we need a sequel for this.

Overall a nice watch for a Friday night with friends.

Bloody Enjoyable
stevenmortonuk21 December 2023
This Korean drama is in the mould of older Japanese and Korean thrillers. If you liked Oldboy and Battle Royale, you'll probably enjoy this. However, the kill scenes are pretty gory so please be warned.

The pace is great and keeps you on the edge of your seat. There are plot twists that keep in interesting, and if you avoid thinking too much about the plot holes, you might enjoy the show.

The acting was mediocre but they are all relatively young and it's not bad enough to ruin any scenes,

This is another enjoyable Korean thriller for fans on Squid Games and The Glory. I'd recommend it if you enjoyed those shows.

Good Enough
PennyReviews25 January 2024
Korean Drama '' Night Has Come '' is a death game with a class of high school students as participants.

The drama starts off quite strongly, with the story being gripping and intriguing enough to spark the interest and to have the viewer look for who is behind everything and to figure out what is going on. The use of the mafia game was interesting as well. The bloodshed, though plenty, wasn't just there for show, moreover, but used nicely in the plot. Also, some characters were quite fascinating to follow.

However, the ending was what ruined this drama. First of all, it raised more questions than answers. Also, it was unsatisfying, leaving things unsolved, probably, but unlikely, hinting at a second season. Finally, nothing was explained about that final plot twist, as to how the masterminds behind the game managed to do as they did.

At least, the performances were strong by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, six out of ten.

a very good series but with bad ending
aoustaim21 December 2023
I randomly discoverd this series and i really enjoyed it, it might be not good for you if you cant watch series with much violent and blood but if you are a action fan and want a good story where you just want to continue watching and staying excited all the time than this is the right thing for you to watch. I enjoyed every second of it, the only thing that was not that good was the open ending. Some thing will happen that you will never expect and the more you see the more you will think differnt about it. Its something that no action fans should miss. The story is very fluid and it never gets boring.

Cringe and bad writing
gameomic1 February 2024
They mix thriller and paranormal and sci fi which doesnt make sense because they only took a scoop out of it and put it in portions. Earlier in the series we are led to believe there are some paranormal occurrences, this was completely abandoned by the end of the series.

The idea itself is borrowing from japanese anime / game Danganronpa.

Mediocre acting, bad screenwriting, plot twists that arent really... Plot twists.

Some events and characters though are quite enjoyable. Like the bully guy and the main character.

6.5/10

Some major flaws like inconsistent setting (paranormal vs sci fi), bad writing (cases are too simple, and seeing from mafias POV making it has no plot twists. Early on it was revealed who the mafias are. Some mafias are revealed by "oh they mentioned something they shouldn't have known" which gets boring.

Great Show !!! We need a season 2 !!!
romaniax-1534621 December 2023
Loved it!! I will try to explain myself as good as possible to avoid giving spoilers :) Everything about it was genius. It gave me the Among Us vibes haha. Great characters. Great actors. I saw people complaining about acting. Totally disagree. There were moments when actors did great. Especially on sad moments. I for exampled ended up loving the ones I hated in the beginning and hated the ones I liked. There were moments when this show left me speechless...and I loved it because I was always waiting for the next episode. The ending was a bit strange. I was expecting something different to be honest... BUT it wasn't that bad because now they can make a season 2. It deserves a season 2. At first I thought it was better to end it like this than ruin it with other seasons as other shows do,but after I saw the ending...I think a s2 doesn't sound so bad.

Better be a season 2
jacquelynnhill18 December 2023
It's not bad the Acting is definitely there for the female characters and the bad guy seen in the group. Its the portrayed good guy that everyone likes for me his acting isn't all there. Besides the acting the storyline is great with the game of mafia but this ghost entity feels like it really doesn't go anywhere? But idk need season 2 to know for sure. The high frequency when they get executed and turning of white pupils I wish they'd do without the white pupils and just remain with the high frequency. It's a good show to watch with the others cause it makes you try to figure out who is the mafia and you get annoyed with the characters which is always fun.

Need season 2.

One of the best drama in 2023.
amrutharaj-5582421 December 2023
One of the best mystery thriller drama for sure. I just falling love with main leads. They're just ozm yaar. Not an extra ordinary or muliti talented cliche hero/heroine, they're just simple humans thats why i love them more. Idk why this one is so underrated. This deserves more and more. The negative characters also done very well. But only negative i feel that yoon seo and jun hee moments are too short. The starting and the ending was perfect. Most of the drams i never watch twice but this one i already watched thrice.

I hope for S2 because the ending is not ended.

If that happen then i want more scenes of jun hee and yoon seo.

Warning: Spoilers
The series is really fun, because it's my favorite genre, I can't give it a high rating because the story is quite familiar, like werewolf games, familiar because the average survival game film is like this, only the plot is a bit different because the plot of the film is in the final episode, that is the difference, then there are other plots that I didn't expect, then the connection with ghosts, I'm very happy if there is a season 2, but if you like the survival game genre, it's suitable to watch, like battle royal, maybe squid game, or something, lets watch...........,.......................

High school drama
adrithasage20 December 2023
As someone who doesn't watch trailers I like the first time viewing experience that comes with new shows. This starts of pretty good and moves at a good pace for the plot. If you play games then you will be familiar with the concept. So they're a lot of characters but you quickly get an idea of the main cast.

Pros:I liked the idea and you get intrigued with trying to figure out what's happening etc.

Con:After episode 2 I found myself skipping a lot of the dialogue. The sound of whinny, backstabbing and annoying teenagers bubble-wrapped in high school clique drama get tiresome very quickly.

I didn't like the leads they seem pretty dull and emotionless. You can't feel or route for any character as they're all irritating.

The longer you watch the less you become interested. You just want it to end so you can figure out what was happening and who had made the game. K-dramas love school based plots especially in the survival segment. Sadly this doesn't hit the spot for me!

I am flabbergasted.

Warning: Spoilers
This was bloody gorey-sadistic-pscyhopathic, yet is made so good. It was really interesting and it kept me up to binge watch under 2 days.

I guessed that Jung Won would be one of the mafias since she was sus since the start, but I did not know she would secretly be Se Un.

I absolutely love the loyalty between Junhee, Hyunseo, and Jungwon (Se Un)

I also think that Junhee and Hyunseo are really smart. The fact that they are able to use their logic in the midst of a mess is crazily smart.

The plot twist is insanely good, and at the end, I knew it won't end just like that. Seems like Hyunseo would have to repeat the game again.

One of the best K-Dramas in 2023.

Why are Korean school kids alway portrayed similary in all their dramas? Is that what they really are?
Toncholina26 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Korean school kids are always portrayed as a very vile bunch. I guess Korean society failed miserably. This is a fictional story about not so fictional Korean reality.

Ok,let's review the "Night has come". So the whole class is stuck in a game where they pay for their sins for leading their classmate into her suicide. Bullying is quite normal for Korean kids and we've all seenbit already many times. In this particular drama kids are not only bullies, they are murders too. As soon as the "mafia" game started, they all showed their true colours. It's like the game was just an excuse for them to slaughter each other. Friends killed their closest friends without any remorse, they even killed without any reason. They mostly killed cause they enjoed it. Voting thing was just as disgusting to watch cause they really couldnt care less who are they going to kill next. Only 3 main characters weren't crazy murderers. Everyone else in that class were a cold blooded killers.

Beside that, every episode was pretty much the same,it it was longer than 12 episode show with over an hour lenght each I would quit watching probably after second episode.

Underrated - Even though i guessed the ending from the first episode it was good
missindependentturk20 January 2024
When Parasite (RIP Lee Sun Kyun, i liked him since Coffee Prince, especially his voice), All of Us Dead & Squid Game was too overrated (i don't think they were that good, all 3 of those disappointed me very much) this show is too underrated. It was really good, i didn't expect that i will actually enjoy it. Even thought i guessed the ending it was very well done. Especially the dead scenes. Many of them was very brutel-gore, it reminds me Another (anime). I read some comments that mentioned "acting" but i didn't catch any of those kids acting bothering me. And there was many stupid choices those kids made but they were "kids-teenangers-highschoolers" so it's understandable.

One of the best k-dramas I've ever seen!
reyapwpretty12 March 2024
This k-drama is amazing. I can't stop watching this. Like this is so good!!!! YOU NEED TO WATCH IT! The actors are so beautiful and talented, the idea of this series is wonderful. It has a a very big plot twist, you can't expect what will happen, I watched twice and I'll watch it again. I really really really hope there will be seseon 2 of this masterpiece! I love it and it is a little bit horror, but not that much, I became more attentive to some aspects after watching it and I totally recommend it! I like "Mafia game" so much and I love to play it with my friends, it is really fun and we have a good time playing it!

Interesting premise, but convoluted and messy
nascentt7 May 2024
"Night Has Come" begins with a promising premise, drawing viewers into an escape-room style reminiscent of films like Saw. The drama initially captivates with its mysterious atmosphere and the intriguing concept of a game that becomes all too real, echoing the life-and-death stakes of "Battle Royale."

However, as the narrative unfolds, the plot becomes increasingly boring as the show stays on the bickering and deception of the Mafia game. But then suddenly gets increasingly convoluted as they try to introduce the missing pieces of the story. The drama attempts to weave together various concepts and ideas all heavily influenced by existing movies and TV shows from The Matrix, to eXistenZ, Last House On The Left and even Black Mirror, but struggles to maintain a coherent storyline or achieve anything particularly new over those existing stories. The mystery that initially adds to the allure soon turns into a labyrinth of convoluted reveals that just lead to a mess.

Also the plot doesn't make sense, the people playing mafia are never aware of the real reason they are there, so the overarching reason for them playing doesn't make sense.

**SPOILER ALERT **
oyinkansolaabaniwonda13 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I was really really enjoying the drama until it got to last plot twist. It was really underwhelming for me The general plot of the series was really nice cause it is my type of film, but seeing why the whole thing happened and the parents saying they will stay there forever was like "seriously!!!"

With the gravity of what the parents did to avenge their child, they should shown/portrayed more of what the daughter went through, because it felt like the actions of the classmates towards their daughter were like a ten and the reaction of the parent was like one million, making me feel like " is that really it?!!". Like a freaking tech lab to psychologically traumatise the kids to experience death too!! (Ps: bullying in whatever form is a terrible thing) Other than that the plot was on point.

Great series, needed a longer ending or a part 2
silingac5 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I loved watching this show, the cast really helped me connect with each one and the twists were awesome. I just wish some parts were more fleshed out to make the ending more impactful.

So we find out how they were picked as mafia members and who the civilians are. But I wish they had given us more flash backs that showed what each person did, and not just a select few. So Mi's reveal as the mafia is the only one that felt satisfactory, the rest felt like they were randomly placed. Also wish we saw more of the main pair in the flashbacks and their personal reaction to the videos and rumours directly to Se Eun.

A little more ways to show that the world they're in isn't real would have been a great touch, they don't show much of technology blurring and it would have been a great touch to the viewers.

Showing the parents in flashbacks or hints would have been awesome.

I think show show deserves a part 2, one more game with all their memories of the previous games where the system character Se Run tries to get the children to find a way to break a system and free themselves from Se Eun's parents.
