Sex & Nudity

  • Dozens of nude corpses are seen from a distance sewn together. Some partial nudity is visible on screen.

Violence & Gore

  • The episode begins with a confrontation between Hannibal and Jack Crawford. Crawford draws his sidearm but Hannibal throws a knife at him, impaling him through the hand; a closeup shows him pulling the knife out with blood pouring from the wound. They then engage in a prolonged and brutal fistfight, hitting each other with various objects and throwing each other around Hannibal's kitchen. The fight eventually comes to an end with Crawford gaining the upper hand and wrapping his tie around Hannibal's throat and strangling him until he appears to lose consciousness. However Hannibal then stabs Crawford in the neck with a shard of glass. Crawford flees and manages to lock himself in another room and is shown clutching his neck, where the glass is embedded and blood spurts out profusely as he chokes.

  • Hannibal is seen inserting a tube down the throat of the unconscious Will Graham as he retches with disgust, after inserting the tube, Hannibal proceeds to shove a severed human ear under the tube, using a tool to pull the ear down the tube and down Will Graham's stomach. While the scene is not extremely explicit, it is disturbing and may cause relative disgust.
