It's Thorsen's first day back since the assault, and he's tasked with a series of high-stress cases to determine whether he's ready to work. Elsewhere, the team investigates a homicide case with a potential tie to the pentagram killer.
Thorsen returns to work but Greythinking he's not ready assigns Tim to him who proceeds to put him through a test to see if he is OK. They respond to a call and Tim uses it to test him. Nolan and Juarez respond to a call about a dead body. They wait for Harper and Lopezto arrive. They discover a thing which makes them suspect a serial killer who stopped a few years ago is at it again. When Juarez inadvertently blurts it on the radio, Nolan and Juarezare assigned to weed out the tips they receive. Nolan suspects one tip is worth looking into and they learn who the killer is and what happened to him.
