- Rayna sets the record straight during an interview with Robin Roberts; Juliette runs into Charlie Wentworth; Scarlett turns to Avery for advice on the changes to her life.

Rayna sits down with Robin Roberts for a heart to heart. She asks about Lamar and Rayna says she likes to think of him as an ethical man and innocent until proven guilty. Robin says the fans want to know how she is and she says she's great, focusing on the girls and her new record and label. She talks up Scarlet. She punts on a question about if she's dating anyone.
At his house Deacon plays the piano and sings. Megan, buttoning up her shirt, comes in and compliments his voice. He calls her a tone deaf lawyer. She asks if piano is easier than guitar with his hand. He says the way he plays it, it is. She invites him to a fancy-schmancy polo match the next day which he thinks sounds dreadful. She says she'll ask somebody else. He asks if there is someone else. She asks if he cares. He says nope. She says she doesn't either.
Back at Rayna's Scarlett she says she needs get media lessons from her. Bucky and Rayna tell her to not let Jeff get her down. They announce they got her a showcase at the Bluebird and invited some critics to start some buzz and they hope to get her booked as an opener for a tour. Scarlett departs and Bucky and Rayna talk about Jeff wanting to hear her buyout offer. Her plans have changed thanks to Lamar's frozen assets. Bucky also tells her that no one wants to take a chance on Scarlett as an opener. She wonders if Juliette might.
Juliette is busy trying on clothes when Glen announces she got an invite to the fancy schmancy polo match and she thinks she's finally arrived.
Teddy is giving a press conference about his Music City Music Festival. The press asks about Lamar and he says he's not at liberty to comment but that the fundraising for his campaign was legit and his first order of business was severing ties with Lamar. He's asked about his wedding to Peggy. He says it will be a private ceremony and that they got involved well after his divorce.
Avery and Gunnar listen to recording of their song which Avery produced at Juliette's studio. Avery notes how nutty it is they're working together. He also notes how great they sounded with Zoey and thinks they should bring her in on this one too. Gunnar begs off. Scarlett arrives and it is awkward. Gunnar departs and Scarlett says she wanted to talk to Avery about the new direction her life is taking and ask for advice.
Tandy and Rayna watch the news on Lamar. Rayna says she can't believe she asked him for a loan. She wants to think he's innocent but is not surprised. Tandy notes it's good that Rayna didn't take his money. They decide they will find to find funding to get out of her deal by talking to people at the fancy schmancy polo match the next day since the rich folks might want to invest. Tandy notes that Rayna loves "big hat" events.
Cut to the big hat event which Rayna in fact doesn't enjoy. Several women ask for pictures with her and others autographs. Tandy notes that all of Lamar's friends and enemies are there.
Also there is Juliette who is furious when she finds out that Charlie Wentworth, the married billionaire she slept with, is the one who invited her. He's playing in the polo match. So is his wife Olivia who buttonholes Juliette as her buddy for the day.
Deacon shows up to meet Megan and notices Rayna across the tent.
Rayna is doing the hard sell on a rich lady but she begs off. Luke Wheeler shows up, turns out he's got horses playing in the polo match. He notes that this type of place is in her background. She says it's where she's from but not her world. Rayna spots Deacon and Megan.
Avery and Scarlett talk about his experience with Domino and he notes he blew a lot of good things last year, meaning her as well. She says maybe those thing weren't meant to be. He says he was not mature enough to handle it, and if he had a second chance he'd do it differently. She asks why he doesn't tour with Juliette. He says he'd rather be a barback and make his own music then wear golden handcuffs.
Charlie, who own several Nashville radio stations, talks to Teddy about the music festival and grabs a passing Juliette and says she would make a great centerpiece for it. Juliette tells Teddy to have his people call hers.
Zoey and Gunnar have a talk wherein she says they can't do this anymore. He notes that he actually really likes her. She says she broke the girl code and feels like a super slutty bad friend and that Scarlett can't find out.
Rayna and Tandy do the hard press on a stuffy old businessman but he scoldsTandy for even being there and essentially accuses her of ratting her dad out.
Juliette and Charlie bicker and says he can't take no for answer. He can't. She notes how their lives and backgrounds are very different. He is impressed she sent his fancy car back.
The polo match begins and Luke catches up with Deacon. Apparently, they used to be buddies. We learn Luke is divorced, he's just about to ask Deacon about Rayna when Megan arrives.
Teddy is also at the match and avoiding Rayna.
Rayna notes how grateful she is that Tandy has rearranged her life to help with the girls. When talk turns to Lamar she gets overly defensive due to her guilty conscience.
Juliette is about to leave when Charlie stops her. He argues that although he did inherit his money he's always worked and he only married Olivia because it was the proper thing to do. He claims he's a simple bloke and tells her to stick around and he'll prove it.
Scarlett beats Avery at a videogame.. They laugh. He asks if she's feeling better about her Bluebird gig tonight. She is worried about judgey critics. He claims he's happy to hear about her success. She says she's proud of him and how he's grown. He returns the compliment. They kiss.
Deacon tells tour stories to entertain Megan's lawyer friends. He runs into Rayna at the bar. He congratulates her for being able to sing. Megan arrives and Deacon reintroduces the women.
Charlie is called to stage at the end of the polo match but doesn't show up. He's too busy having beers in the stable with the hands and Juliette who break into an impromptu song.
Scarlett and Avery chat post-coital. It is both sweet and awkward, she heads out to get ready for the show.
Juliette runs into Rayna on the way back from the stables and Rayna basically accuses of her of having an affair with Charlie and that country music fans don't like that. Juliette tells her to forget about Scarlett coming on her tour.
Scarlett goes to the Bluebird to get ready, sees Zoey, and tells her she slept with Avery and feels stupid. Zoey notes that the heart wants what the heart wants. Scarlett says it did feel kind of like home but she's unsure of what her heart really wants.
Olivia and Charlie have a fight. He calls her snotty. She slaps him. She says she doesn't care about any of these people and says she's taking the jet and he can find his own way home. Juliette overhears all of this.
Avery sees Zoey and knows she knows and is freaked out.
Megan and Deacon head back to his house and she states flatly that she's not threatened by Rayna. He's impressed by this and they start getting it on.
Gunnar tells Scarlett, who is now onstage, that he's got her back. Rayna shows up and tells Scarlett it's her night and introduces her to a couple of critics.
Zoey tries to talk to Gunnar but he blows her off.
Juliette goes to see Charlie and they agree to work on the music festival together. He invites her up to his room since Olivia is gone.
Scarlett sings a song about being in heaven on solid ground and sings to both Avery and Gunnar.
Deacon and Megan get it on.
Zoey finds Gunnar and tells him she's changed her mind and they kiss.
Scarlett is congratulated by Rayna, the critics and Avery. They agree that they're both unsure what happened between them earlier but agree that they don't have to figure it out right now.
Leaving the club with Luke Wheeler, Rayna asks Luke if Scarlett can be on his tour. He kisses her. She is surprised. He says he'll take Scarlett on tour because she's great but he's also looking forward to seeing her out on the road.
Olivia catches Charlie and Juliette in flagrante delicto. They do not see her see them.
