Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched Season 4, Episode 12 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired Dec. 9 on Fox.
The unmaskings took a week off, as Wednesday’s episode of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” was instead a special one-hour holiday-themed sing-a-long edition.
The competition returns next week with the Season 4 finale and the presentation of the Golden Mask trophy. But for now, viewers were treated to some of the most memorable performances from this fall — along with lyrics and a bouncing mask, for fans to sing along.
Besides reprises of performances from earlier in the season, the episode also featured new, holiday-themed songs from the show’s three finalists: Sun, Crocodile and Mushroom.
Sun performed “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” while Crocodile sang “Silent Night” and Mushroom did “The Christmas Song.”
Panelists, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong also got a week off from the guessing game.

A very strange and welcome thing has happened this TV season: The broadcast networks are trying again.
You remember the broadcast networks, don’t you? They were mighty beasts that once dominated the earth, with impressive names like National Broadcasting Company or Columbia Broadcasting System (NBC or CBS to their friends). For more than 50 years, they were television, for all intents and purposes, representing everything good, bad, and in-between about the medium. More often than not, they opted for programming that would offend and/or confuse the fewest number of potential viewers.

Who says network shows are too safe these days? In a sea of bland sitcom revivals and by-the-book procedurals, NBC is taking a huge swing with Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist — debuting Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 10/9c; I’ve seen the first three episodes — starring Jane Levy as a woman who starts hearing strangers’ innermost thoughts as elaborate musical numbers. I am pretty much the ideal audience for quirky oddballs like this, so I don’t want to discourage networks from taking chances — but Zoey is also muddled and overly maudlin, with a nagging tone problem it never quite solves. It’s...

“One second I’m getting an Mri, and the next second, people are singing to me!” Jane Levy (Suburgatory) cries in the first promo for Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. And now that that succinct summation of the series’ premise is out of the way… who’d like to hear Lauren Graham sing?
The spot, which premiered Thursday on NBC, gives us our first official glimpse of the musical drama. The series follows Zoey, a San Francisco-based coder who eventually realizes that the unusual event she’s experienced may turn out to be a wonderful gift.

Billy Joel always pauses for a few beats after playing the opening harmonica part of “Piano Man,” but near the end of his 70th birthday show at Madison Square Garden, he really stretched the moment out as a huge grin came across his face. ABC is counting on A Million Little Things to beef up its slate in the 2018-19 TV season.
The Alphabet network on Wednesday gave a series order to the aforementioned drama, which follows a group of friends from Boston who bonded under unexpected circumstances. “Some have achieved success, others are struggling in their careers and relationships, but all of them feel stuck in life,” reads the synopsis. “After one of them dies unexpectedly, it’s just the wake-up call the others need to finally start living. Along the way they discover that friends may be the one thing to save them from themselves.

If you love the “Hamilton” soundtrack, just wait until you hear your favorite songs from the musical mashed up with some of your favorite hits. Joining the London cast of the musical for a new digital #Ham4Ham video, Lin-Manuel Miranda took “Hamilton” songs like “Helpless,” Satisfied” and “The Schuyler Sisters” and mixed them in with Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” Spice Girls’ “Wannabe,” Oasis’ “Wonderwall” and Adele’s “Hello.” “Hamilton” was the biggest play to hit Broadway in ages, winning 11 Tony Awards this past June. But more massive than the list of awards were its ticket prices.

Amid its recent rebranding, USA can’t get no (more) Satisfaction, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The drama, about a married man who starts moonlighting as an escort after catching his wife in the throes of paid-for passion, lasted two seasons before getting the axe, but its long-term prospects seemed dismal from its inauspicious debut onward.
The writing was on the wall earlier this season, when USA quietly dumped the series in the Friday night death slot, letting it burn through its last ordered episodes then declining to order more. Suits exec producer Sean Jablonski was behind the show, which starred Matt Passmore and Stephanie Szostak as the married couple. Blair Redford, Katherine Lanasa, Michelle DeShon, and Deanna Russo also had main roles.
