I Am Wig!!!
zardoz-1314 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
John Travolta does his imitation of Charles Bronson in "Eraser" director Chuck Russell's political crime melodrama "I Am Wrath," and this formulaic revenge epic bristles with moments of spontaneity. The worst thing about this derivative fodder is the ghastly toupee that Travolta sports. This obvious hair-piece resembles something made out of latex that you'd find in a Halloween costume store. Had Travolta interacted with it, scratched, brushed it, or ran a hand over it, so it might have looked realistic. Sadly, he doesn't do anything to diminish the impact of that unsightly rug. It just clutches his head like a rubber chicken, and no matter what he does, this frightful thing detracts from an otherwise meaningful performance. Meantime, this "Death Wish" knock-off hasn't got a single, original trope in it. You've seen this movie a million times. Nevertheless, Russell manages to generate enough gusto that you forget about the wig and enjoy the hair-raising violence. Christopher Meloni co-stars with Travolta, and the former "Law and Order" star looks like he belongs in his trigger-happy role as the protagonist's friend from the past who cuts hair in his own barber shop. The plot concerns a crooked politician's efforts to cover up corruption.

Vivian Hill (an older but still sexy looking Rebecca de Mornay of "Risky Business") is married to an automobile engineer, Stanley Hill (John Travolta of "Pulp Fiction"), and she picks him up at the airport. As they are about to depart in this SUV from the lonesome parking garage, Stanley notices that the driver's rear wheel is pancake flat and prepares to change the tire. Out of seeming nowhere, a thug with a tattoo on his face appears and appeals to them for a small loan. Stanley refuses to accommodate this stranger. The next thing that we know, another assailant surprises Stanley, clobbers him, sends him sprawling to the pavement with a bleeding cut on his forehead and then starts killing him. The first thug, Charley (Luis Da Silva Jr of "21 Jump Street"), stabs Vivian and kills her. Stanley struggles to save her, but she is dead. The thugs roll away in a Monte Carlo. Later, Stanley identifies Charley in a police line-up, but he watches incredulously as uniformed cops release him. As it turns out, Charley and his hooligans were paid to kill Vivian, and Stanley has to pry the information out of a reluctant Charley during a gunfight in a night club later in the movie. It seems that Ohio Governor Merserve (Patrick St. Esprit of "Independence Day: Resurgence") had hired Vivian to serve as a researcher on his staff, but she failed to crunch numbers to the governor's satisfaction. Facing the possibility that she might expose him, Merserve uses a drug dealer, Lemi K (Paul Sloan of "The Scorpion King") to eliminate her. It seems, too, that Lemi has a blackmail video that he is holding over Merserve. Now, Stanley is so grief-stricken that he slams his elbow through the sheet rock at the back of a closet and drags out a satchel that contains firearms, passports, and various denominations of cash. He phones his own buddy from his black operations days, Dennis (Christopher Meloni of "Man of Steel"), and they track down Lemi K's thugs and turn them into dead men.

As interesting as it sounds, "I Am Wrath" qualifies as an old-fashioned, vengeance-is-mine thriller that benefits from some cool gunfights, but suffers from deplorable scripting. The first problem is why did the Columbus, Ohio, Police Department bring in Charley and put him in the line-up. Well, of course, the answer is: it's a movie. This entire scene is designed to horrify us as much as the hero who has just seen his wife die. Later, when they track him down to a crowded night club, our heroes display marksmanship that rivals The Lone Ranger. Literally, no innocent bystanders are wounded during this brief foray. Eventually, Lemi K is angry about the treatment of his crew and the loss of a drug shipment, and he comes down heavy on the two detectives that worked the case. Detective Gibson (Sam Trammel of "True Blood") and Detective Walker (Asante Jones) find themselves between a rock and a hard place. Ultimately, Governor Meserve finds himself entirely inconvenienced when Stanley storms into his home and the fireworks fly.

Russell has done far better work than "I Am Wrath," but he manages to keep things going forward despite several unconvincing scenes and this 91-minute, R-rated opus doesn't wear out its welcome. "Pulp Fiction" lenser Andrzej Sekula does a good job of concealing the low-budget. According to IMDb.COM, William Friedkin and star Nicolas Cage were originally attached to make this generic thriller.

This is not a bad movie at all. On the other hand its a little too generic for it to be all that good.

"How is him walking out of here going to help my case?" Stanley (Travolta) has just returned home from a long trip and is excited to see his wife again. While on his way home she is murdered. After doing everything by the book legally the killer is set free. Not willing to accept that Stanley takes matters into his own hands and the hunt begins. First of all, this is not a bad movie at all. On the other hand its a little too generic for it to be all that good. There are a few neat twists in this but for the most part you can predict everything that is going to happen pretty easy. Travolta isn't a bad choice for this but he seems a little flat in some parts. In terms of the little B action movies that have been coming out this is definitely one of the best ones, but again this movie has been done over and over and is just not all that exciting. Overall, good movie but too generic to watch over and over. I give this a B-.

It's a good action movie starring John Travolta
subxerogravity14 May 2016
I saw Travolta on the poster and without knowing much all I could think of is Charles Bronson in Death Wish. I was close. The movie reminds me of a cross between John Wick and The Punisher (of which Travolta played the villain in the 2004 movie version).

Travolta plays what looks like your average Joe, who watches his wife get murdered right in front of him by what looks like an average car jacking in a city that's been boiling over with violence lately, but it turns out Travolta has a past that was beyond average and goes Liam Neeson on the bad guys.

Though he does not look as good as Neeson lashing out those particular set of skills on his wife's killers (but who does?),Travolta was still fun to watch as he hunted down his foes one by one, and just when he thought he was finish, turned out we have more villains to kill. It was like he was leveling up in a video game, that's how far up it goes.

Travolta himself was more convincing as average Joe wanting vengeance for his wife's death then he was at the dude who could seek this vengeance flawlessly, which is why they kept it light. Helping with this tone is Christopher Meloni who plays the dude Travolta has to call when he gets back in the game. I'm a huge fan of Meloni and he gives a great performance as the guy who has one hand still in the pot while pretending to be a barber. The chemistry of Meloni and Travolta as two old soldiers so jaded by it all that they joke back and forth as they stomp out evil. It's good banter.

This action movie was a great safety net for Travolta, I can't remember the last time I seen him in something decent, and that's what this was, very decent, very watchable from the very beginning all the way to the very end.

How not to make a revenge thriller
livemeyer-413591 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I Am Wrath was just barely competent to watch. The opening mugging/murder scene had some of the worst continuity mistakes I've seen in a Hollywood blockbuster. While the cast was competent, the casting was stereotypical black/Latino bad guys and white "highly trained" good guys. I cringed at some of the lines. I imagine the script must have had many hands on it and many rewrites. John Travolta puts in an average performance, but the lightweight script and lackluster directing leave him out on a limb with this performance. And we are supposed to believe that Travolta at 62 years of age is a ball-busting tough guy? Originally Nick Cage was cast to play the lead, perhaps he's become wise enough to sniff out a stinker. At least his age would not have been so damning as it is for Travolta.

Speaking of tough guys, Christopher Meloni turned in an affable performance providing support and a touch of one-liner comedy. Alas it's difficult to believe he gets whacked in the shins by a baseball bat and the bat loses. In real life the bat would not break and he wouldn't have been able to walk for at least a week. His performance was the only bright spot in a movie that never hinted at being a buddy action-comedy but becomes one anyway. John Wick this movie is not.

The movie's biggest sin was its predictability. You knew right from the beginning why the wife was killed, who ordered the hit, and why the corrupt cops could do nothing about it. Then every step of the way you knew what Travolta's character was going to do, and never did we think that he wouldn't get away with it right up to the unsatisfying ending (gee, no surprises when the bullet proof vest is revealed early in the film).

I Am Wrath had no mystery, no discovery, and quite often no explanation. This would be exhibit 1A as to how Hollywood ruins movies.

Cliché Story, but Highly Entertaining
claudio_carvalho29 November 2020
When the manager of Honda vehicles Stanley Hill (John Travolta) returns to Columbus, Ohio, he is welcomed by his beloved wife Vivian (Rebecca De Mornay) at the airport. Vivian is an advisor of Governor Merserve (Patrick St. Esprit), who has reduced the crime rate in Ohio, and now she is analyzing the environmental effect of a duct of oil in Columbus. When they are at the parking lot, they are approached by three scumbags that kill Vivian. Stan identifies one of the thugs to Det. Gibson (Sam Trammell) and Det. Walker (Asante Jones), but they release the criminal telling that they do not have enough evidence to keep him locked up. But Stan is a former CIA operative and he seeks out his former partner Dennis (Christopher Melon) to find justice to Vivian. Soon they find a network of corruption in very high level and Stan decides to eliminate the problem.

"I Am Wrath" is a film of revenge in the style of the franchise "Death Wish", with John Travolta in the lead role with Christopher "SVU" Meloni as his partner. The result is a highly entertaining film that professional critics will certainly hate. But fans of a good action movie will enjoy and have a goodtime watching this film. Last but not the least, it is impressive how Rebecca De Mornay is still a very beautiful woman. My vote is seven.

Title (Brazil): "Eu Sou a Fúria" ("I Am the Wrath")

Note: On 02 July 2022, I saw this movie again.

Death Wish MCMXCVII
jimbo-53-18651116 October 2016
Yes here it is folks another in a long line of 'Death Wish' clones and one which quite frankly isn't much cop...

The story here sees Stanley Hill (John Travolta) hunting down the crew that killed his wife. Rather than being a one-man show Stanley gains assistance from his fellow ex-black ops pal Dennis (Christopher Meloni). In atypical fashion, Stanley and Dennis take out these punks one by one until they ultimately learn who is behind the death of Stanley's wife and why she was assassinated....

I really haven't got a problem with vigilante type films and have enjoyed other clones that have followed Death Wish (such as Death Sentence which I thought was excellent). For me, part of the problem with this film lay with its lead actor... Travolta has been excellent in the past and was great in films such as Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty and Face/Off, but something just wasn't right here. His performance here was wooden, stiff and generally uncomfortable to watch - it's hard to explain but I just never found him convincing at any point during the story. Many of the supporting performers don't fare much better and to be honest the only person who I thought made any kind of impact was Luis Da Silva Jr who was actually very good and he looked kind of menacing as well.

Of course, a weak and generic story doesn't always matters in films such as I am Wrath as long as it has some style and intensity, but the film falls flat in these respects too - there's no real imagination here, there is some style here (although I personally feel the John Woo style slow-mo stuff looks a bit lame now). You know that our 2 ex-black ops guys are going to kick everyone's ass and fight their way out of impossible situations so you're never going to fear for them. This all results in a film that passes the time, but that's all it does. I watched it, but the only feeling I had about it when the credits started rolling was indifference.

I Am Wrath isn't completely terrible, but it's the sort of film that's so generic and so safe you'll likely be predicting what's going to happen 5 minutes before it does. Like I said a generic story isn't a bad thing if you're made to care about what happens, but I just never got that feeling at any point during this film.

Worth Watching, Standard DTV Action Thriller.
dpwzzz23 April 2016
I am so sick of reading reviews that are savagely critical of a movie, although it's obviously not one of Travlota's best and the fact that he is clearly not in his prime physically etc etc blah blah, this movie is a solid effort and worth a look. Note to reviewers: Being so negative and savagely critical to a movie does NOT show that you are an expert, especially you fellow wannabes here on IMDb, it just shows what a boof head you are, Try being constructive and tell the readers what is worth watching about the movie. Travolta and most of the main cast provide a very passable acting effort, a couple of the bad guys acting was not really that great but on the whole... as a story I found it enjoyable to watch. I doubt I would go back for seconds, but can't understand some of the other comments on this page.

This is not funny anymore
NestorNestor16 January 2017
'I Am Wrath' is very moving film - it is not hard to move on after first fifteen minutes. I managed to sit through it somehow. It's almost like John Travolta wanted to make a lousy parody of Nicolas Cage. 'John Wick' made revenge movies look cool again, and 'I Am Wrath' really tries to emulate similar coolness but it falls out like toothless alligator trying to eat buffalo. Travolta and Christopher Meloni has good chemistry between them, but the script is too shallow that the actors don't have enough material to work on. It uses every, absolutely every known cliché to human kind, that all the twists of the film can be guessed at the opening credits even if you have turned off your brain almost comatose like state. No surprises, no style. Totally unnecessary movie.

Oh yeah, John Travolta's hairpiece deserves it's own movie.

An entertaining diversion but largely forgettable
ginocox-206-33696813 May 2016
"I Am Wrath" feels familiar. There is a trope called "mugging the monster," in which villains mistakenly target somebody with a particular skill set and receive their comeuppances in spades. Usually, the individual is reluctant to rely upon those skills or wants to suppress that part of their life. It was used to introduce Frank's martial arts talents in both "The Transporter" and "The Transporter Refueled." It may be a scene played for comic effect or to round out a character in movies like "Crocodile Dundee," an unexpected wrinkle in movies like "Air Force One," and occasionally the premise of the movie, as in "First Blood," "John Wick" or "A History of Violence." It is perhaps a sort of fantasy fulfillment for anybody who has been victimized. Wouldn't we all like to have the powers and abilities of a superhero, crime lord or kung fu master to turn life's misfortunes to our advantage and simultaneously discourage the criminals and jerks of the world from repeating or continuing their repugnant behavior?

IAW is not terribly original; however, it is competently executed. The villains are suitably sleazy, violent and remorseless. They aren't the vilest lot of malcontents by a long shot, but they provide a suitable level of threat. The plot is familiar, but is only an excuse for the action scenes. There are no car chases, pyrotechnics or extended scenes of unarmed combat, although there are a few brief fights. It's mostly threats followed by gunplay without any elaborate choreography. Production values are adequate, although Travolta's wig is noticeable and distracting.

Travolta has done much better work as a tough guy, notably in Luc Besson's "From Paris with Love." Here he is not given a multi-layered, finely nuanced character and makes little effort to bring new dimensions to a sparsely developed script.

The movie is boosted considerably by a couple of the supporting roles. Christopher Meloni steals his scenes as the sidekick/guardian. Sam Trammell's look of boyish innocence cloaks a dark side to his character.

The script was written by Paul Sloan, who also plays the villain Lemi K, and was originally in development with Nicolas Cage set to star and William Friedkin directing, but somehow that fell through. The script seems a couple drafts short of complete. It feels as if it was written with franchise ambitions. The title, Stanley's tattoo and the buddy relationship with Dennis all scream comic hero series. However, it fails to develop Stanley as a continuing character or to leave him in a situation to continue his vigilantism.

The result is a film that is an entertaining diversion but largely forgettable.

No, please God. No.
William_x_Lee3 January 2017
Let's not waste time here....Terrible direction, the actors don't appear to all be on the same page. The director also appears not to understand the elements of an action film: urgency! None to be found. The lighting is hideous to say the least, as a long time resident of Columbus, Ohio I would like to say Columbus has some of the most uninspired skyline and atmospheric shots. Travolta and Merloni are good, but it's hard to make a garbage script into a great film. Din't bother to watch past the first 40 minutes. I was falling asleep. And oh, what's with all the unmotivated slow motion shots? Not even worth the price of a DVD rental.

Good movie, fun
Mhaulo20 April 2016
Travolta, not a guy who brings my curiosity into watching movies, but as we can mostly agree, a great actor, does the perfect credible tough guy with this movie. His actual BMI, his talent and of course the simpleness of this movie brings the spectator a trip back where movies were about their genre, in this case an action movie. There is no life changing message in this one, you won't cry or laugh, you'll just have a great time, with credible characters, a bit of fantasy perceived as luck and a simple plot that works like a clock. I wish this movie had as much credit as it deserves. My personal (yet insignificant) congratulations to all the cast. I hope they keep on pursuing this style, it really tires to have 2 decades of heroes with who look like Ken from Barbie.

fine standard lower budget thriller
SnoopyStyle10 June 2021
Stanley Hill (John Travolta) is getting picked up at the airport by his wife when they get attacked by men who are apparently violent robbers. His wife is killed. She was a close advisor to the Ohio Governor Merserve. Abbie (Amanda Schull) is their daughter. Stanley picks out the killer in a police lineup but the cops just let him go. He reconnects with Dennis (Christopher Meloni), a man from his secret past.

This is a fine example of the lower budget thriller. It has some interesting actors. It also has the pre-requisite former A-list actor to lead the project. The story is pretty standard although I would change a couple of points. While Travolta does his thing, I'm more surprised with the presence of Meloni. They are a good pairing and this would be a better buddy thriller. They should spend more time together. Otherwise, it's nothing special and nothing bad. It's fine.

Worth looking at just to see the am-dram style hair piece. I couldn't stop looking at it.

Not a single hair moved despite the many fights.

I just don't know how stuff this bad gets made any more.

Just trash.

I couldn't even finish watching this movie
elizrug18 April 2016
Number one: I could not take my eyes off the God-awful wig that John Travolta is wearing. I have never seen anything so absurdly fake on a star's head before, unless purposely faked. His role would have been much more believable if he had gone au naturel--a middle aged dude getting back into the game.

Number two: the cheesy dialogue. The banter between Travolta's character and Christopher Meloni's is painful. The fake tough guy speak between the cops and bad guys is cringe-worthy. WHoever wrote this needs to be fired.

Number 3: the premise. It could have worked but not how they did it. How much better would it have been if it had been an "average Joe"? I stopped watching after about 30 minutes. Life is too short for bad movies.

Travolta & Meloni > Not good enough for theaters, but good on Red Box & Cable t.v
KATO-SUBZERO16 April 2016
Sat, 16 April 2016: I just watched this movie. It was good, Not a lot of useless unnecessary profanity and not a lot of violence on women, so those two things gained points with me from the start. After having seen so many films of this type, the revenge action is predictable. We know what is going to happen from mid way to the very end, but it is still worth watching. I was once told by my college professor that every movie or t.v show idea has been done at least once, sometimes twice or even three times. For example, how many vampire movies have been done with a new twist or movies about going in space?

Writers are just adding a new twist on an old idea, but it still nice to see them. Case in point the very ending when the daughter played by actress Amanda Schull is in front of her home with husband and son get a postcard from Brazil, hum does that seem a tiny bit like the great Morgan Freeman getting a postcard from Tim Robbins in the classic film "Shawshank Redemption" ?

John Travolta is good, but for this type of action film, he is not quite up to the great Liam Neeson or Denzel Washington. I liked John's actions scenes much better in his film "From Paris with Love". The best action fight scene in this film is with his co-star, Christopher Meloni in the barber shop fight scene which take it's cue from Denzel's night club fight scene in "The Equalizer" where he slice and dice up several Russian thugs in short order.

Also there is pretty eye candy for us men who like to see pretty women and that is pretty Cuban Latina Doris Morgado. I have never seen her before, but I like to see her again.

I am bothered...a little....
HEFILM1 September 2019
Despite the title this movie is more of a buddy cop/spy movie. Travolta, with an hair piece that refuses to budge under any circumstance, seems to want to coast through any emotional scenes as quickly as possible. The movie is really about two former spys/or feds/or something of the sort, having an excuse to get back together and have a good ole' time shooting and chasing the bad guys. Some of their banter and relationship works but the danger or action never amounts to enough to create any real jeopardy especially when Travolta at best looks bothered by what he has to do.

It's competently directed, in a get-it-done-and-move-on, style and the plot has a few good twists but leads to an essentially ridiculous final confrontation. But really there is nothing at stake here other than the mechanics of the plot--Travolta and his character don't ever display any real wrath and the film never builds up any real outrage at the political intrigue stuff it is more about than revenge. Shot on Location in Columbus Ohio it has a few Buckeye jokes and Ohio deserves credit for letting a movie like this get made in real government locations--but it's kind of so what. The opening credits may be the most energetic part of the movie as they attempt to set up a State and City on the verge of anarchy--something that then drains away almost immediately.

Budget seems pretty limited, Travolta probably being paid half of what they had to spent, and again he doesn't seem committed to the material which doesn't offer much to commit to. It's not terrible but it should be better on almost every level.

Travolta has 'Taken' a Death Wish......
FlashCallahan16 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Stanley Hill witnesses the murder of his wife Vivian, who's attacked by thugs in a car park.

Wracked with guilt, Stanley is haunted by the image of Vivian dying. When Detective Gibson and other corrupt police officers are unable to bring the killers to justice, Stanley turns to his old friend Dennis and decides to take matters into his own hands.

Stanley and Dennis have a mysterious past that, until now, they have kept very well hidden.

As they inflict vengeance, those involved in the cover up realise that Stanley and Dennis are more dangerous than they could ever have imagined...

After the amazing success of the Taken franchise, it seems that once big A-list stars are trying to resurgence their career by doing their own vengeance/one man army movie.......geri-action if you would.

Arnie did it with the last act of Sabotage, Cage did his with Tokarev, Costner did his with 3 Days To Kill, and Willis is in talks to do a remake of Death Wish.

And here's Travolta's take on the vengeance movie, and it's a pretty strange movie, considering it's directed by Russell, whom showed a lot of flair with Eraser, The Mask, and even Nightmare On Elm Street 3.

It's strange in the fact that nothing new is offered to the viewer. We have the same corrupt cops trying to protect a high end member of the government. A bad guy with an ulterior motive, and for no reason other than lazily explaining why Stanley is in possession and can access so many weapons.

If it wasn't for this silly plot inclusion, thus making Stanley a human killing machine, instead of making him the Everyman we first thought he was, it would have been just that little more palatable.

Travolta is fine, he can do this type of role, the grieving Husband/Father/Son walking in his sleep, so you'll spend more time looking at his wonderful hairline than his performance, and the action scenes are hilarious, Travolta's stunt double just has his back to the camera while the action is taking place, and it's right out of the Seagal school of poor stunt doubles.

The one liners provided by Dennis, fall flat almost every time, which in turn, makes then the funniest one liners you've heard in a long time, they just seem so out of place when your main character has just lost his soul mate.

For a generic action film, it's fine, it runs along at a steady pace, and provides no surprises for the viewer, just another nuts and bolts action film starring so done who wants to be as famous as he used to be.

But Travolta must have really believed in the script because he gets a tattoo with the films title on his back, and he literally says the films title when he asked who he is.

That is supposed to be one of the more tense moments of the film, but again, it's sadly hilarious.

And for some reason, the ending reminded me of The Shawshank Redemption.

Not terrible by any means, just a little pointless.

Good thriller to watch
forayof10 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I am Wrath is an action thriller of 2016 from Director Chuck Russell, the man who made Arnold action vehicle Eraser and the famous Jim Carrey movie The Mask. Playing the protagonist is John Travolta who looks really good for his age of 62, and is a treat of watch in action. Film starts off with television clippings of violence, atrocities and crime happening daily in and around USA and Ohio State Governor addressing a crowd regarding pipeline water issue which is viewed by Travolta's family along with titles. Next scene we have Travolta arriving at airport and received by his wife and they move to parking lot to go home in the car. Unexpected things happen which leaves his wife killed by a bunch of hooligans and he moves to police station for legal proceedings and what happens from then on is uncovering of conspiracy which leads to the higher echelons of government. Playing a man with mysterious past Travolta holds the viewer's attention as he delivers his own brand of justice to people responsible for his wife's death. Special mention needs to be given to veteran Polish Cinematographer Andrzej Sekuła for providing apt atmosphere. Worth watching action thriller among the today's bunch of movies that routinely deals with fantasy, horror etc .

Nothing To See Here: Move Along
chicagopoetry15 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Nothing special here. You would think when a film company manages to get John Travolta to agree to be the star of a vigilante film, that they'd want to go for broke. Make it something over the top. Make it something that people are going to want to talk about. But, I guess there has to be a screenwriter and they're stuck with whatever that script says. Oh well. This is just a ho-hum tale with nothing going for it. The acting is just adequate, the plot is less than thin, the action is TV-ish and there's nothing remarkable about it. It's not total crap. You're not going to waste your dollar if you rent it in the Redbox or watch it on Netflix. But after John Travolta's stellar performance in The People vs. OJ Simpson, I just expected more than this lazy little done-before excuse for a motion picture.

I don't know what others expected but...I liked it!
shreeree24 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this film. I don't know what those who didn't expect since it was a vendetta film and most of them don't have as well an ending. Also in a vendetta movie not much hasn't been done so I don't get the bad reviews.

The first part is reminiscence of Charles Bronson film Death Wish. The bad guys being so over the top it makes you want them dead. You know the the type. They're in every action film and like roaches they keep coming no matter how hard you hit them they get back up and no matter how many you kill they keep coming. These thugs killing the woman he loves and no one but her family seems to care about gives him a beyond reasoning mentality to get her the justice the bad cops can't give him.

He teams up with his old OPs partner that don't give him a choice and they start cleaning the streets, bad cops, and higher ups in the process of getting the ones that actually did the crime against his wife. You find out there was more too it, so it explains why it was over the top for a simple robbery.

I for one enjoyed the byplay between John and Christopher's characters. Reminiscent of Tango and Cash except you know they have a brotherhood-of-arms camaraderie for each other.

The thing that makes it different is the ending. So many times in vengeance films the good guys temporarily gone bad have to die for not doing things the legal ways. It's like Hollywood way of not encouraging vengeance as if we aren't smart enough to know it's a movie. This movie knows we get it, so I was pleased with the ending.

As far as John Travolta's wigs I don't know why he feel the need at this point in his career. I think he was sexy as all get out in "From Paris With Love" with the bald head and goatee but, that's my thing. If you have a head full of hair that's great. If not embrace the bald or close cut look with pride because that's sexier than toupee or wigs. Balding hasn't stopped Christopher from being sexy. E...v...e...r.

Alright action-thriller, nothing special. But Travolta, please lose the damn wig!

So, the worst thing about this movie is John Travoltas wig. Other than that, this is an OK little action thriller.

Nothing new here, nothing special, but it's well directed, the acting is mostly good, the action is pretty decent, all in all OK. Could have done with a tad more character build up from the start, but hey, I just wanted the action.

With just a few tweaks here and there it could have been a lot better. It feels a little bland, a little by the numbers, and like I said, Travoltas wig is not fooling anyone. For Gods sake, just accept that your bald, man! Travolta is a good actor, he always does a decent job, a shame with those horrible wigs.

This is not to be confused with a million other low budget action movies, by crappy directors, starring actors past their prime, like Wesley Snipes, Cuba Gooding, Dolph Lundgren etc, I Am Wrath is a lot better than those. Chuck Russell (The Mask) knows what he's doing.

With a little more flair to the action (although I liked the slo-mo) and without that awful wig, this could have been awesome, instead it's just alright.

Honestly People....

$18million budget. I bet Travolta got $17.5 of it. Meloni and the script got the rest. If you rated this more than 5 stars, someone is paying you. It's also set up for a sequel. Guarantee that won't happen.

Plastic acting to match the plastic faces . Ridiculous storyline with no emotion and no realistic scripting , very poor.

Warning: Spoilers
What organization did the Travolta character belong to before he left it to pursue an honest life with the woman he loved. That all changes when she is murdered and seeing that the criminal justice system doesn't work, Travolta reconnects with his associate as the two go on an expedition of tracking down and killing the murderers.

This tale of revenge has the familiar themes of corruption extending to the top of state government, a family threatened, violence with shootings all over the place and the Travolta character eventually finding solace with the Lord.

While the ending proves that justice is served, Travolta having to flee and possibly never see his daughter and her husband and his grandson is definitely a downer.
