The action scenes with Dandy and Meow at the end of the episode were mostly improvised by the animators Yutaka Nakamura and 'Bahi JD'. The directors had given them total freedom during the production of that episode.
One of the aliens looks resembles the cabinet art for the classic arcade game Galaga. Namco released a Space Dandy-themed Galaga game for mobile, appropriately titled "Space Galaga."
Animator Bahi J.D. drew over 1893 key-animation drawings for 13 shots in this episode. Every single drawing in his scene was entirely drawn by him to have full control over the animation.
During Dandy's "live with the flow" rant, one bit has the background as the word "Muda" (useless) repeated endlessly. This is a reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012), where the villain Dio Brando would say "muda muda muda" as his war cry.
