Title and story originate in graffiti that Jorge Walsh spotted on a map on Whitworth Street whilst walking to the Cornerhouse cinema. By the time Walsh arrived at the cinema, he had a story outlined for a short film project exploring the reasoning behind the graffiti.
Titles use Windsor Light Condensed, a trademark of Woody Allen title sequences.
Jamie Walker, who received a 'Special Thanks' credit, was the basis of the character of the same name in the film. In the script, the name Jamie was written with a view to change it later, though when Walker couldn't play the role, the name stayed.
