We need to root out all the secrets
jhudson-1170430 July 2017
This episode seemed like another filler episode but thankfully it led to another great plot point to be explored.

Starting with story with the Academy. It was actually really cool to know that Shield has multiple facilities where cadets and agents train. As we just saw Sci-Tech, it looked pretty big, however, the other two, Operations and Communications, are apparently larger. This really explodes the impact Shield has all over the world with their vast number of agents and facilities around the world.

Donnie Gill wasn't that impressive as a character, but after he was exposed to the freezing machine, I am hoping he comes back later as something the team has to deal with. It was sort of their fault that this happened to Gill, so seeing them deal with their actions could be good.

Coulson and May's adventure to Latin America was actually the really important of this episode as we discover something hugely important. Skye is an 0-8-4. In case you forgot, an 0-8-4 is an item of unknown origin with possible destructive powers. Other known 0-8-4s are Thor's hammer, Mjolnir, and the plasma cannon they found in their second episode. So the fact that practically no one knows where Skye comes from opens up a lot of avenues as to what her storyline could be.

I also like that May told Coulson that she was sleeping with Ward. It was going to come out anyway and I think that this was the best way for it to be revealed without causing a curfuffle.

+ Coulson and May + Shield is huge + Skye's an 0-8-4! - Gill wasn't great, but could be

Final Score: 8.2/10

DAMN Fitz

At 13:49- Fitz telling Skye and Jemma that they will be "wrinkly old hags" when they no longer have the youthful appearance as himself. That's pretty harsh.

Rewatch thoughts

I actually forgot how good this episode is, it's mostly filler, the A plot that is, B plot is very important, but even if the plot is filler-ish, there is so much more to this episode, it expans he world, and flehes out my two favourite characters, Fitz and Simmons. I noticed the dialouge in this episode was great, particularly the speach Fitzsimmons give was the right level of corny speach without seeming fake, the banter between the team was on point, the twists and turns well excuted and the story regarding Skye was heartbreaking, this episode really had it all!
