Meanwhile both have crummy jobs, but they need to make a buck. Abbi's roommate has a slob of a boyfriend who stays with them and makes her life a misery. He eats all the cheese and leaves worse things behind in the bathroom.
Abbi and Ilana do seems like real people and their workplace also looks more realistic in comparison to Friends or Sex in the City.
The characters are depicted well for the first episode. Ilana video calls Abbi has she is jumping up and down on her boyfriend. Abbi comes across as more sympathetic as she seems more put upon and frustrated about life.
However some of it did come across like a series of sketches and not always funny ones.
