Sex & Nudity

  • Two charecters almost have sex in one episode. They go out to buy condoms and talk to the sales man about sex.
  • Lillian's last name is Kaushtupper, pronounced cow-schtupper, a homonym/Yiddish wordplay meaning cow-f*cker.
  • Brief scenes of cleavage and panties.
  • Overall the show handle's the subjects of sex and sexuality in a non hyper sexualised, very mature way which respects the characters and keeps the content quite PG
  • Some teen girls talk about having sex. Nothing graphic.
  • Several references to infidelity.
  • Several characters use the term "hooker" in a comedic way.

Violence & Gore

  • In one imagined cartoon sequence there is gory violence depicted against a horrible person which is then reflected upon as being quite extreme a thought
  • Kimmy chokes on something and makes g* sounds
  • Season 4 has no vomit or gagging.
  • In season 2 in an animated dream sequence a man is attacked by animals and brutally ripped apart and destroyed, with organs bones and everything visible.
  • None.

Profanity

  • Someone says "who the f**k is it" but there is static so the swear is not heard.
  • Use of G..d...
  • Similar to network sitcoms. Mild use of "dammit" "hell", 'Jesus" and "Oh my god".
  • Occassional uses of goddamn.
  • Kimmy uses substitute swears like "What in the ham sandwich" and "Go to your fudgin' room"
  • In one episode, Kimmy watches Major League and Jacob Taylor says "Win the whole fucking thing" but someone snores so the word is bleeped out

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some alcohol drinking and occasional references to drugs. It's also clear that the only one of the teenagers who doesn't drink is the "good girl" in the opinion of the main character. In one episode, a woman at a nightclub refers to "Molly".

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The show is mostly very comedic and light-hearted with a few dark elements such as Kimmy's past in a cult.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • A male muppet-type puppet makes insisting sexual advances to a confused and non-receptive adult man in exchange for a position. The puppet even flashes his genitals (on camera) to the man and makes him touch it. This situation is referred to in several episodes and is also replayed in flashbacks where we get to see more and more of what actually happened.

Violence & Gore

  • After Titus sprays poisoned water on Dionne Warwick and her assistant it turns out he poisoned the whole cruise as well. People are seen v* (??? what is this??? spell it ou!) on stage as Titus is performing. Visual only, no audio because the scene is a flashback and Titus is still narrating.

Profanity

  • 'Shit' is used once in season 4.
