"You may or may not see me at some Dolphins games," Alix Earle says on TikTok. Cut to footage of the influencer tailgating outside of Miami's Hard Rock Stadium on Sept. 24. She and her friends are drinking mimosas, and she's wearing an oversize Braxton Berrios jersey she customized by cutting down the middle. Then she's on the field, twerking beside the team mascot.
Earle and Barrios previously made their first public appearance at the Espy Awards in July, but this somehow felt like their big debut. It's worth noting the Dolphins went on to score 70 points that game, the most points any NFL team has scored since 1966. A few days after, Berrios shared a photo hugging Earle on the sidelines. "Big W," his caption reads.
As fame itself shifts, more celebrity couples seem to be using sporting events to hard launch their romances. (It helps if your significant other is on the team.

Since 2018, creator group RDCWorld has organized an annual event series called Dream Con, which takes place in the group’s home state of Texas. The 2023 edition of Dream Con established several milestones for the yearly gathering: It was the first DreamCon to take place in Austin, and it drew the largest crowd in the convention’s history, with more than 20,000 attendees flocking to the Austin Convention Center.
Dream Con exists on several axes. On the surface, it’s a creator convention that provides a Texan complement to VidCon. For the members of RDCWorld, the three-day event is an opportunity to rub shoulders with like-minded creators and entertainment industry notables.
But at its core, Dream Con is a space for Black nerds — or “Blerds” — who love anime, video games, and sports. It’s a chance to hang with other members of that community and meet the people who are sharing Blerd...

Shooting Stars might be labeled a sports drama, but at its core, the biographical film released on Peacock June 2 about Lebron James’ high school basketball team from 1999-2003 is about hard work, perseverance and triumph over the obstacles life throws at you.
Chris Robinson (Atl, The New Edition Story) is the director who was tasked with showcasing the talent and tenacity that made James (played here by Marquis “Mookie” Cook) and his teammates — Dru Joyce III, Willie McGee, Sian Cotton and Romeo Travis at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio — successes on and off the court. And more importantly, lifelong friends.
“Can you imagine being 15 and the whole world is having a conversation about you?” asks Robinson as he reminisces about the hype around James and his core teammates known as the Fab Four in junior high, and eventually the Fab Five as Travis...

Basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal has been making headlines for decades because of his humor and athleticism, but we need to also talk about his ridiculously talented family.
Shaq is a father of six children. All of them are cool as hell and most of them play basketball just like their dad - not that Shaq cared about their athletic skills while raising them. In an October 2021 interview on the "Earn Your Leisure" podcast, he said he always prioritized his kids' education and developing their business acumen over athleticism. "You gotta have bachelor's or master's [degrees] and then if you want me to invest in one of your companies, you're going to have to present it, boom boom boom, bring it to me," he said (via NY Post). "I'll let you know, I'm not giving you nothing."
He continued, "There's one rule: education. I don't care if you play basketball. I don't care about none of that.
