Jared Cohn (Bound, Atlantic Rim, Born Bad, Buddy Hutchins) has been tapped to direct 6ix, a Nicholas Celozzi-written thriller that is being likened to David Fincher’s classic Se7en – being that it’s about a killer who is using The Book of Revelations for slaying inspiration… Check out the teaser/poster art below:
6ix sees a devout and merciless killer seeking to obtain the soul he believes he was born without by taking the “senses” of his victims. Two detectives are charged with the mission to save 6 innocent lives.

Tagline: "His bad day is now your bad day." *full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by Uncork'd Entertainment. Director/writer: Jared Cohn. Cast: Jamie Kennedy, Sally Kirkland and Sara Malakul Lane. Buddy Hutchins might have lifted a page from Joel Schumacher's Falling Down (1993). But, the large production values of this earlier film are gone and so is an underlying social commentary. Instead of overcoming social pressures, the central character, Buddy (Jamie Kennedy), breaks down. Blending several genres, Buddy Hutchins is a very sombre film; any possible light moments are forgotten. Buddy Hutchins is so dark and depressing that the film is not entertaining, at least not for this viewer. The film starts with Buddy. And, this character is in every scene. So, you would hope that this character would be fun, confident or comedic, at least. But, he has none of these qualities. Instead, he is a lazy alcoholic.

Veteran actor Jamie Kennedy has a huge and diverse slew of acting credits on his resume; however, it's safe to say that even with his years of work in Hollywood, he's never experienced anything quite like Buddy Hutchins.
Kennedy (pictured) plays the title character in Buddy Hutchins, which is filming now and scheduled for a mid-2014 release. It's been described as a more horror-themed version of Michael Douglas' memorable 1993 film Falling Down, making it an extremely dark turn for Kennedy, who, according to all reports, is absolutely sizzling in the role.
