So first off, this was a pretty sh***y movie. The intentions and the Message that was meant to be taken away by the viewers, was not. The Idea of the movie was good, except: it was filmed on a potato it was Too long some of the parts were focused on too long, and for the wrong Reasons excessive use of the n word. They used onion rings as the Microphone, some cast members were barely heard. Was not done very Professionally
I am not here to be a hater, or put down your movie, i'm just saying That the things that people took away from the movie, are not what you Intended them to take away from.
It was a bit too story based, the movie was. Following cast when they Were upset, or called out for being rude and saying terms such as 'halfie'.
The main message everybody from my school took away was the quote "all White people are racist."
A more appropriate term was all white people are born into a form of Racism, where once in history they considered themselves more supreme To the black people..
That term was dwelled on for about 98.9999% of the conversation my School had, 4 different times.
Another part, is, the movie should have had a bit more background, Because going to a private school, and in other places besides new york City, some of the terms, people, things, stereotypes are not common for Us to see/believe/know.
Lastly, before I rant your brains out,, the movie only focused on white To black racism. Themovie should have been better titled "black bias". It didn't include any other 'races' so to speak. No middle eastern, no European, no Indian, not really Asian, I mean they talked about a girl Who was adopted who considers herself not Asian, and wanted to be black To fit in and say the n word...
I understand that the movie was made for the viewer to say, 'im not a Racist, am i?' because of the many subtle little things that can cause You to be a racist. So overall, yes, the title fits, but at least Include other races, white to black racism was very common, still is, But not as common, but the most common racism nowadays is middle Eastern and Asian so I would have focused a little more there. With the Clothing and such that different races wear that cause people to be Racist, such as the turban, kimono etc.......
Lastly, the company that produced this film, 'point made films' didn't Really make the point of the film obvious
Good intentions, badly made.
