Warning: Spoilers
Starting out the episode with Roger's car pop-up being, "Oscar Gold," was a great way to begin. Familyland was a brilliant portrayal of modern day, "Disney Land." From the various perspectives each family member accurately voiced, to the accurate depiction of the map, this episode touched on each thought a person has while wandering through Walt's creation. The best, was the portrayal of the most racist ride in the park, "Splash Mountain." In Short the exploitation of the princess dream that anger activists, the tween attraction to Tomorrow Land, Walt Disney's cryogenic experiment, his anti-Semitic agenda, and the deteriorating family values exhibited at the park, are all portrayed in this spot on episode.

The only downside is that it could've been longer

Amusement park culture is an easy target, but 'Familyland' spices things up by raising the security gates and turning the park into a post-apocalyptic hellscape. Think "Escape from New York" and you've nailed it. Somewhere in there is a relevant story about the need for bonding time among family, but the churro gags and the re-animated Roy Family material are worth the price of admission. It's a series of incisive jabs at Disneyland (especially the dated racism of Simpler Times Mountain); and while that alone is low-hanging fruit, what's a black eye or two now and then to keep things in perspective? It's imaginative, the morality is nuts, and above all, it's a riot.
