Great Anime
marknkoa4 November 2017
The two main characters take the story forward and leave you in a wonderful suspense of what's going to happen, mainly the lead female as the protagonist's goals are obvious throughout. The side characters help make the anime very humorous. From all the people I know of who have watched this anime their favourite characters differ heavily and I'm sure you'll find your own, but take my word for it that this anime is very much worth watching.

P.S In my opinion Shiro is the best P.P.S My opinion is right and yours is wrong P.P.P.S Watch it.

Laugh-out-loud funny

Warning: Spoilers
This was the funniest anime I've watched it a good while! Most of the characters were super cliche, but for some reason they just play off each other really well. Most of the episodes had more than one instance where I audibly laughed, and I don't do that often when watching anime. I think that this show could be watched by anyone of any age above 10 and be enjoyed, but it is extremely obviously more aimed towards adults, which makes a lot of jokes that couldn't be told in other anime available to use. This way, it was able to be original in its writing even if the premise isn't anything new, and I really liked the way that set up the show. The main guy was kind of boring, but the main girl was definitely my favorite character. I can totally see why the main guy likes her. The rest of the complex is just a bunch of hilariously despicable yet relatable characters, that I really liked in spite of their faults. The grandma is also an absolute chad. The one thing I really didn't like, (and major spoilers here. Like major spoilers) is the ending, and the fact that they didn't get together in the end. First of all, the ending just felt like any other episode (I watched all 13 including the special), and wasn't very conclusive. Now, for my biggest complaint. In my opinion, romance anime that finish and won't be getting another season, but the main couple doesn't end up together should be a crime punished by life in prison. So many other shows do this same thing, and it's a HUGE pet peeve of mine. If I won't ever see these characters again, at least give me the ending I want! I know they have to follow the manga or whatever, but more of these shows should really push for an anime only ending and have them get together if the alternative is then not getting together. Overall, this show is extremely entertaining and very worth watching, but the ending does bring it down a little bit.

Aren't we all just a bunch of weirdoes...
SaberaSurovy12 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The name of this anime came to me through many videos called "Funny anime moments" and as such titles in Youtube. And it was in the hard disk of my pc for quite a long time until I finally decided to watch it.

It was unexpectedly good. But I liked the characters more than the plot.

Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou is the daily life story of the people living in the Kawai complex but also it is the story of a teenage boy pursuing his senpai to get closer to her (this is the boring part).

The Kawai Complex is literally the carnival of weirdoes living in. There is Shirosaki, the ultimate definition of a masochist, Mayumi, bad with alcohol and relationships, Sayaka, a university student with a sweet yet sharp tongue, Ritsu, the bibliophile and socially awkward, Usa, the main protagonist and Sumiko, in charge of the boarding house.

As there is not much to say about the story let me write something about the characters.

My most favorite character here is Shirosaki. He is a total masochist, very good with binding things up. His age is unknown but I am guessing mid-twenties. He is a pervert but not a pedophile. He has a strict rule about not getting involved with girls below 18. Though he is more interested in their moms. But inside, he is a very wise and caring guy, very handy with crafting. Always makes things for the boarders to have fun with, mostly I think is to make Mayumi feel better. He used to be a writer too. It was not mentioned what type of books he used to write, but my guess is S&M erotic novels. It's shame his eyes are always covered by his hair. He oddly reminds me of Urahara Kisuke from Bleach.

Mayumi is an office lady, in her late twenties, I assume. She likes alcohol, gets drunk pretty easily, and has bad taste in men. She always torments Usa about his virginity. She is a funny character. Satiu Rina did an amazing job with the voice.

Sayaka is a university student. I didn't like her at all at the beginning. But I loved her when the anime ended. She is very sharp-tonged. Always covered in the makeup. Likes to toy around with men even if she doesn't have any interest in them. She has a cat and mouse relationship with Mayumi which is really enjoyable.

Usa is the main protagonist. He is mad about Ritsu. His only flaw is he is too nice. I can't stand too much niceness. Iguchi Yuuichi did a fine fine job.

Ritsu is the main female protagonist. She is a bibliophile and very unsocial. But she is unbelievably boring. She had the least character development in the anime. On my account of course.

There was an episode about a sexual molester, I loved the episode.

The anime was very funny, mainstream, and easy to follow. If you decide to watch, it won't be a waste of time.

Happy watching.

The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behaviour
Tweekums4 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
When the parents of Kazunari, a boy in the first year of high school move away he has to live in the Kawai Complex boarding house. Here he finds himself amongst an unusual group of people; his roommate, the only other male in the house, Shirosaki is a masochist, Sayaka has a predatory attitude towards men and the buxom Mayumi can't get a man. As well as this odd bunch there is Sumiko, the manager of the complex and most importantly Ritsu; a second year girl from Kazunari's school who he has quite a crush on. Being shy he can't bring himself to tell her how he feels and contents himself with walking to school with her and talking about books; her main passion in life. As the series progresses it becomes clear that he is developing feelings for him but she can't say anything either so it looks as if they might never get together.

When I started this I thought it was going to be yet another harem series but it quickly transpired that wasn't to be the case. The unrequited feelings between the two protagonists was tender and believable; I can't imagine there will be many viewers who don't hope they get together in the end! Away from the romance there are lots of laughs to be had; mostly from the secondary characters. A few of the jokes are of a sexual nature but they manage to be funny without being overly crude. The character designs are good and suit the cast well; you can almost tell what the characters are going to be like by looking at them without it seeming too obvious. I would certainly recommend this series as it was probably my favourite of the season.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Short, and ends abruptly, but still worth your time

Warning: Spoilers
I read the manga, but MangaRock got taken down halfway through my reading it, so I decided to watch the anime and was pleasantly suprised at how crisp, bright and beautiful the colors were in this anime.

The dialogue was great and the characters were easy to identify with and you can't help but cheer Usa-kun and Rit-chan on and hope for their happiness.

This show is a breath of fresh air and will brighten your day and I highly recommend it.
