There was some good recognition and appreciation that Jackky Bhagnani got when he came up with a good and well balanced performance in Youngistaan. While many stood up noticed that the youngster, who did have a successful F.A.L.T.U. behind him, could demonstrate a different facet of his acting abilities, the makers even pitched for an Oscars nominations for the film.
A little more than a year down the line and after having played the part of a sophisticated Prime Minister candidate, Jackky is taking an about turn and getting into a goofy avtar for Welcome 2 Karachi. As a young Gujarati boy who finds himself in Pakistan without any official papers whatsoever, Jackky is supposed to have let his funny side do all the talking in this Ashish R. Mohan (Khiladi 786) directed film.

After winning the Dadasaheb Phalke award for his film Youngistaan, Jackky Bhagnani is now gearing up for his father Vashu Bhagnani's production, Welcome 2 Karachi. But this time around, the actor has decided to go a step beyond and will also be lending his voice for one of the songs in the film.
Joining the likes of his contemporaries, the actor decided to experiment with his vocal skills this time. However, from what we hear, this was a last minute decision, where Jackky came to the rescue. Apparently, singer-rapper Badshah was supposed to rap for the song but he fell ill at the last moment. Music director Rochak Kohli was obviously upset with the situation and asked Jackky for help. The actor, despite being in Indore, decided to sing and even wrote a few lines along with Rochak for the song. Content with the way the song has turned out to be,...

2014 gave many gems to adore like Queen, Finding Fanny and Haider, but for every good film there’s a Humshakals, It’s Entertainment and Action Jackson. With every editorial on the new changes in Bollywood, there’s the inexplicable popularity of duds that have Ajay Devgn loudly zipping up his trousers or Saif running around London like a dog. It’s baffling that films like Bang Bang or Kick work, but the modest failure of Humshakals had us filled with glee, maybe next year the audiences will finally give up on Sajid Khan. This year’s Razzies features some repeat offenders (looking at you Jackky!) and some newbies who should know better.

Even though composer Jeet Gannguli is open to composing party numbers for films, he does not use vulgar lyrics. He says, “I am against vulgar lyrics. No one should feel ashamed while listening to a song. We should also think about kids, who listen to these songs, as they catch onto lyrics quickly. Songs and lyrics should be subtle. They can be fun, but not vulgar.”
Jeet Gannguli, who recently composed a track for director Ashish R Mohan’s upcoming film Welcome 2 Karachi, says that he made sure that the song did not sound vulgar at all. “I don’t call it an item song, for me it is a dance track. It is a very peppy number sung by Shalmali Kolghade, and penned by Kausar Munir. It’s youth-centric, and is an arabic and latino mix. Just yesterday, we reported that Irrfan Khan decided to make an exit from Vashu Bhagnani's film Welcome To Karachi at the last moment, despite the fact that the film was launched with much fanfare recently. And now it seems that Jackky Bhagnani has come to rescue for his father's production. Vashu Bhagnani made no qualms in expressing his disappointment when Irrfan Khan left the team of Welcome To Karachi stranded in London after he refused to fly to UK to complete the shoot schedule citing date issues. Vashu further even had mentioned that it will be too difficult for him to find a new actor who could fill in for Irrfan Khan at the last moment and the producer was also miffed about the losses he will be incurring if the team had to wait to complete the schedule in London. However, Jackky Bhagnani who was last seen in Youngistaan,...

Mumbai, April 15: Producer Vashu Bhagnani and debutant director Syed Ahmad Afzal have much to rejoice about. The good response to their political drama "Youngistaan" has encouraged them to plan a sequel to the film already.
"Yes, we have a story for 'Youngistaan 2'. And seeing the response (to 'Youngistaan'), we'll go ahead with it," Afzal said.
"At the end of 'Youngistaan' Jackky Bhagnani's character becomes the prime minister. But the actual fun begins after that. What happens after he's sworn in? How does he handle the pressures of his job? I think there is a major story waiting to be told there," said the director,.

Mumbai, April 2: Actors Jackky Bhagnani and Neha Sharma visited the Siddhivinayak temple here to thank god for the success of their film "Youngistaan".
"This is a prayer to just thank god for everything. May more people watch the film and it becomes a bigger success. We always come to god before a film's release but we have come to say thank you (now)," Jackky said here Tuesday.
Jackky, the film's lead actor, is happy with the audience's appreciation of the movie.
"It's been great...we have received good reviews. The biggest thing is that people are enjoying the film because we make films for them. If they.

“Very entertaining, very cool to see a romantic comedy in the world of politics. We don’t see films that do justice to both worlds. With a great message, great supporting cast, excellent performances by the supporting cast specially by the lead pair Jackky and Neha and a big shout to Farooq Saab. He has always done a great job in his career and I would request everyone to go watch this film”, says Ranbir Kapoor post watching Youngistaan.
Arjun Kapoor says, “Youngistaan raised some valid questions through this movie at a very opportune time, movie has taken a good step in the right direction to bring a change to the nation. So I would want every youth to go watch this film and vote”.

Mumbai, March 31: Neha Sharma, who started her career with southern films, has done a couple of Hindi movies but she still feels like an outsider in Bollywood and says "no one is your friend here".
She was seen in the films "Crook", "Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum" and the recently released "Youngistaan".
"I don't think I've found wide acceptance. I don't even think the big banners know about me. But I am still trying to find my bearings around here," said the 26-year-old Bihari girl.
"It isn't easy since I am very conservative at heart. Back home in Bhagalpur, we were a very non-filmy family. We didn't know much about movies except Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. And we knew about Sanjeev Kumar because he was my mother's.

Jackky Bhagnani takes another shot at making a place for himself in the hearts of the audiences and in the industry this Friday. This time around under the care of debutant director Syed Ahmad Afzal. Deemed as an unofficial remake of Telugu critically acclaimed film Leader directed by Sekhar Kammula starring Rana Daggubati, Priya Anand and Richa Chaddah, Youngistaan comes wisely placed at the time of Indian elections.
At the outset it has to be agreed that the concept, whether or not inspired by Kammula’s Leader has a lot of merit. Sadly that is the reason why Youngistaan disappoints to a great extent. As an audience member you’re eager to see the journey unfold of a young budding Pm of the largest democracy of the world. You’re as intrigued to find how he’s going to merge the old school thoughts and the youth outlook into one.

Film: "Youngistaan"; Cast: Jackky Bhagnani, Neha Sharma, late Farooque Sheikh; Director: Syed Ahmed Afzal; Rating: ****
You have to hand it to this film for making an effort to be 'headline-ish' without toppling over with the temperament of topicality. This is a genre never really cracked in Hindi cinema. A political drama about a young foreign-educated Nri who is forced to take over his country's reigns after his father's sudden death.
Unlike Prakash Jha's "Raajneeti", "Youngistaan" doesn't take itself too seriously. There is no attempt here to mythicize or demonize the politicians.
Think Rajiv Gandhi. Think Rahul...Jackky Bhagnani plays an amalgamation of many political dreams. Never mind if some of them turn into.

It was certainly a night to remember as the who’s who from the film fraternity came out in numbers to show their love and support for Mr Vashu Bhagnani completing 25 films in 20 years and whole heartedly taking part in the celebrations. Jackky Bhagnani and Neha Sharma starrer Youngistaan being his 25th film.
It was a true spectacle, as the attendees comprised of past music composers from Vashuji’s films such as Anu Malik and Anand Raaj Anand. The presence of celebrities like Mr Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan certainly enhanced the mood and vibe surrounding the function.
Heartfelt messages for Mr Vashu Bhagnani were put forth and there was no hiding that overwhelming feeling being on the receiving end of such praise, which is certainly well deserved considering Mr Vashu Bhagnani’s contribution towards Indian cinema and his continued efforts towards making an impact and bringing something new to the table.

The title of the film Youngistaan which recently ran into trouble after Pepsi Co. filed a lawsuit against them for copyright infringement, now gets to retain the title but on the condition of displaying a disclaimer along with it. Pepsi Co. was upset when Msm Motion Pictures and Pooja Entertainment's film was titled Youngistaan considering the fact that they had run a campaign with the same name. Hence they had filed a case against the producers as they had the trademark for 'Youngistaan'. However, now, the two parties have settled amicably where Pepsi Co's rights on the word have been acknowledged and the title of the film too will not undergo any change. However, the filmmakers have been asked to carry a disclaimer on the title credits of the movie, theatrical trailers and end slate in all their official digital media communications. Jackky Bhagnani in his reel life so far has been seen in films which primarily focus on social issues currently hurting the country in more ways than one and in his real life he is known to be direct, upfront and always open about his views pertaining to situations and scenarios he’s faced with. Recently in an up close and personal interview with the Bollywood star, a tricky question was directed towards him which was “What do you think is wrong with the politicians of the day?” and some thing that stood out from his response was what he dislikes about the political system in general. “I do not agree with blame game politics and it’s high time it needs to be changed” said Jackky Bhagnani.

Youngistaan follows the life of Abhimanyu (Jackky Bhagnani of F.A.L.T.U fame) who unexpectedly finds himself in the political spotlight after the sudden death of his father, the Prime Minister of India (Boman Irani – 3 Idiots). The film has been in the media of late due to Bhagnani’s styling in the film being a dead ringer for Rahul Gandhi’s wardrobe, as well as being the last film featuring the late Farooque Shaikh. Moreover, Youngistaan also marks another notch in Bhagnani’s continuous attempts to carve a niche for himself in the industry.
The soundtrack features 4 songs, composed by Jeet Ganguly (Aashqui 2), Shiraz Uppal, Sneha Khanwalkar (Gangs of Wasseypur), Shree D and Ishq Bector (Besharam). Lyrics have been penned by Ahmad Afzal, Shakeel Sohail, Kausar Munir and Jackky Bhagnani.

While all the shooting of debutant director Syed Ahmed Afzal's Youngistaan featuring Jackky Bhagnani as a young dynamic prime minister is nearly complete, one crucial sequence remains to be filmed.
It's a scene featuring Shah Rukh Khan. An integral part of the script, the scene was written into the plot from its inception. Apparently the film's prime-minister protagonist's girlfriend, played by Neha Sharma, is a diehard Shah Rukh Khan fan.
The scene requires the very dynamic prime minister to arrange a quiet surprise meeting between his girlfriend and her celluloid crush.
In fact the scene to feature Jackky, Neha, and Jackky's screen-mentor Farooq Sheikh was shot without Shah Rukh just before Farooq's death.
Says a source, "Shah Rukh's scene in Youngistaan is important. He comes in at a crucial moment in the plot for a cute cameo. So sure were producer Vashu Bhagnani and his leading man Jackky...

Mumbai, Feb 18: Since making his debut in 2009 with "Kal Kissne Dekha", Jackky Bhagnani has done just a handful of films. He says it's not because he is choosy, but because he wants to be taken seriously as an actor by the audience.
He will next be seen in "Youngistaan".
"I have not become choosy, this is all I get! I am doing this ('Youngistaan') because I want to do all kinds of films. In my career of four years, I am struggling to make people take me seriously as an actor and give me credit for it and not just take me as being a producer's son or a dancer or cute looking," the 29-year-old said here at a press meet.
