Doctor Who has thousands of unproduced story concepts. Indeed, the first ever story ‘An Unearthly Child’ was based on a completely different idea: C.E. Webber’s ‘The Giants’, in which the Doctor and co. would have been shrunken down and faced comparatively massive Earth insects, was in an original series document produced for Doctor Who, and had Rex Tucker assigned to direct.
‘The Giants’ was vetoed for a combination of technical reasons: the small and outdated studio assigned to Doctor Who wasn’t up to the task of giant insects. Said insects drew the ire of Doctor Who co-creator Sydney Newman, who famously disliked bug-eyed monsters – you can’t get any more bug-eyed than literal bugs. Aspects of it ended up in the Season 2 story ‘Planet of Giants’, and the opening scene – where teenager Sue and her teachers Cliff and Lola meet Dr Who (sic) in the fog – was adapted...

Directed by Petr Kubik, who also crafted the screenplay with Lukás Parík and Viktor Kristof, Princess Cursed in Time has the following synopsis, which was provided by Kristof: Every day princess Ellena awakes to her 20th birthday celebrations knowing that she must kill the evil witch who cursed her or find a true love. In case she didn’t make it, the kingdom will be destroyed by dark storm, as it already had happened multiple times.

Grindstone Entertainment has picked up the U.S. distribution rights to The Lost Legion, a feature from Industryworks Studios set in ancient Rome and due out on DVD and digital platforms before a planned TV series. In a deal coming before the American Film Market, Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release the Brian Caspe- and Michelle Lukes-starrer across a host of ancillary platforms in 2015. That distribution comes via a film slate deal Lionsgate has with Grindstone.
