Good, if over acted a little bit

It's been a good few years since any television on this topic cropped up, I suppose the world has been too busy making trash 'reality' television (aka Kardashians).

I came across this show online, it appears it only has three episodes so one suspects it had a fairly short life (no pun), which is rather a pity. Damian is very good at what he does, and the participants seem to genuinely experience something interesting.

It would be good to have seen more of the research parts, seeing the 'hits' is good, what of the misses, or close calls, these would be useful in helping the audience make informed choices/have valid opinion on this topic. Personally I find these types of stories convincing, but i'm not one for religion so I don't know about the idea of the two concepts, the whole 'god' and 'afterlife' with the idea of coming back?

All that belief stuff aside, this appears as though it would have been a really enjoyable show to watch and also a vehicle for some people to perhaps gain insights into themselves, if it has indeed disappeared from the television radar that is a pity - if it reappears I will certainly be keen to watch as will numerous people I know. Perhaps another network will pick this up, Damian is clearly good at what he's doing and the premise is certainly one that has had success in the past.

Where is Netflix when you need it.

Fascinating

I originally watched this show to kill some time and perhaps practice my skeptical skills and have a laugh. But once I started to watch it I became absolutely fascinated that much of what was being said under hypnosis was later corroborated by, gasp, some external evidence such as birth and death records, careers and townships that the people lived in, and so forth. I can usually tell if someone's lying or acting - micro gestures, fake accents etc - but the subjects both under hypnosis and watching the video results later seemed to be quite genuine. Contrary to the rationalizations of many modern "skeptics" who clutch onto the most obvious "explanations" and yet consistently fail to turn this supposed skepticism on themselves, many of the great philosophers like Pythagoras and Plato did in fact believe in reincarnation. This show reignited my interest in this area. At any rate, judge for yourselves. That's what real science is all about. I really do hope that this show will continue.

A topic long overlooked

I hadn't known this show was out. Not sure it still is. Only 2 episodes. I enjoyed it. It is a little bit over-dramatic, but the four stories I've seen were pretty moving. Some may say reincarnation is hooey, but more people in the world believe in it than don't. So it is every bit as valid a topic as many other religious or philosophical subjects. To tackle it at the street level like this is overdue. He regresses people who think they might learn something about why they have certain worries or concerns. None of the people turned up famous lifetimes, so that is one thing in its favor: Not everybody can be Napoleon or Cleopatra, after all. Their past life accounts were about really ordinary people for the days and ages asserted - a soldier, 2 mothers, a circus family member, a sailors. Their pertinent past lives each included some tragic event or situation that did seem to bear on their current life concerns. I've seen other past life connection videos, and this one had a feel of those others, even if it is produced in a slightly over-dramatic way.

The counselor/hypnotist seems as well grounded as I would want in a hypnotist - not a lot of bull, not a lot of pandering, just trying to help the patients come to their own realization. I'd give HIM an 8.5 or so on his solidity. I did enjoy the episodes and I hope the show is still going.

For those of us who DO believe in reincarnation (most of the world), it is nice to see this presented at all. I was into it with them. I'd like to see more. I guess that latter is the bottom line for a viewer, isn't it? Make my vote a 7.5.
