Slow-moving relationship drama
Leofwine_draca2 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
THE LAST APARTMENT is a typical indie flick with very little in the way of actual horror content despite it being posited as a horror movie. Instead it's mainly a relationship drama as a pair of characters move into an apartment which they discover to be haunted. It's listless and aimless, very subtle and slow moving throughout, trying for mood but failing all the while. Certainly a film that's nothing to write home about.

not so good, but still useful

I started watching this film, and was not impressed at all. So I started playing games on my computer while letting it go on on the telly, and this is the perfect role for it. If you are bothered by the grey tv screen while reading a book, sleeping, sitting in another room, making sexy-time with your partner, this is the film for you. Images and sounds appear on the screen.

Fantastic

Literally not a single good line/shot/scene/actor/or font choice. The best thing I've seen all year.

Don't bother with this one...

Right, well when I sat down to watch the 2015 movie titled "The Last Apartment" here late in 2020, I was expecting it to be a good movie. Why? Well, it had scored a staggering 7.1 rating on IMDb. So it had to be good, right?

Okay, I hadn't even heard about the movie prior to sitting down here as December is about to end and 2020 is coming to a close. So I didn't really know what to expect from writer and director Larry Rosen. Well, I guess the high rating of the movie must have come from people involved with the movie in one way or another. Because "The Last Apartment" is among one of the worst movies I have had the misfortune of sitting down to watch. Granted, I managed only to endure 31 minutes of the ordeal known as "The Last Apartment", and then I was virtually bored out of my mind.

The storyline presented in the movie was pointless and incredibly slow paced. And whatever did happen in the movie was of so little interest that it hardly was noticeable. The movie just drowned in an ever-increasing amount of pointlessness and boredom. And little did it help that the characters were mundane and the dialogue was delivered with very little gusto.

The only person on the cast list that I was familiar with was Lloyd Kaufman, and I can't really claim to be a fan of anything he has been involved in.

Yeah, I would not recommend that you waste your time, money or effort on "The Last Apartment". Some of us did, in some extend, so that you don't have to. This is without a doubt in the top 10 of most boring movies I have ever stumbled upon. I am rating "The Last Apartment" a generous one out of ten stars, and I can honestly say that this is not a movie that I will be returning to watch a second time, nor attempt to finish watching.

The Last Movie...

This is the last movie that anyone whom had anything whatsoever to do with it should ever work on, or appear in. Even for a micro-budget indie film, this "movie" is absolutely terrible on every level. The acting is God-awful. The plot isn't worthy of an old ABC Movie of the Week melodrama. The production values are virtually nonexistent. A pre-pubescent teen in the throes of hormonal change and a camcorder could come up with something better than this utter turd of a film. It is embarrassingly bad, and if I'd had anything at all to do with it, I would go to court and take whatever steps necessary to have that evidence eradicated.
