The issue of The Cambridge Journal of Psychology passed around has written on the front: Edited by Daphne Young, PhD. Emeritus Professor of Psychology in the University of Cambridge.
Emeritus however is a title only given to much older academics who have retired from active teaching. As a young, currently teaching academic, Daphne Young would not be given this title. In addition, as a female professor, she would (after retirement) be known as "Emerita Professor."
Sidney, Geordie and Leonard enter King's College to go to Daphne's room. This is set in the 1950s, and King's was an all-male college until 1972.
