Horror-on-Sea - Sharkasaurus
robokirk4 February 2015
They had me at cuddly Sharkasaurus toy! Let me explain further; we booked to see this short at the Horror-on-Sea film festival in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, and it was probably the film I was most excited about. I was sold by name alone. To then see the Director, Spencer walking around before the screening with a cuddly version of Sharkasaurus, well I knew I was in for a treat. My husband immediately said 'I expect you'll be wanting one of those'! We were treated to a back catalogue of the teams films, all of which were born of brilliant premise and executed well, most with a good balance of humour and gore. Sharkasaurus itself is perfect - it does exactly what it says on the tin. If I had my way, this short would be screened before every creature feature going forwards. The acting is fab, and Michael Shepherd gets his role spot on. Listening to the panel discuss how it was made was very interesting and for anyone reading this that's involved in funding, please keep doing so with this team - we need them returning to the UK as regularly as possible with films of this quality. Thank you!
