What a series starter!
akicork21 September 2021
This introduces the series baddie. Which or both are the perverted villains? That's the problem! I don't agree that Conrad Ecklie has returned to being a complete arsehole (sorry, I'm not going to be using American spelling!)

The Gig Harbor Killer
claudio_carvalho21 December 2023
Russell calls Finn and, together with Nick, they see an already processed crime scene. Russell and Finn recall a serial-killer from Seattle, Jared Briscoe a.k.a. The Gig Harbor Killer, who killed seven women and processed the body and the crime scene to sneer Russell. However, the criminal is on the death row in Seattle, and it seems that there is a copycat. Russell revisits the case, when Jared stalked his daughter Maya and did not give the location of the three last bodies. He brings Jared from Seattle for new interrogation. Hodges finds that the strings and markers used in the crime scene were made of human tissue and identifies the victim as Emily Bartson, a college girl that was missing in Seattle. Finn meets her boyfriend, Daniel Shaw, and says that he was hired as private investigator by Emily's parents. He says that he is in Las Vegas to track down his partner, Keri Torres, who is also missing, and was last seen in a coffee shop. Soon the CSIs process the coffee table where Keri was sitting, and they find a fingerprint from Jared. The mystery increases and now two women are missing. Soon Russell finds that Jared Briscoe has a twin brother, the executive Paul Winthrop.

"The CSI Effect" is a strange episode of "CSI", where the viewer is intrigued by the cliffhanger in the beginning. The story has no ending since Russell questions whether he has captured the right serial-killer. Fans of the series will certainly miss Captain Jim Grissom, performed by Paul Guilfoyle, and certainly one of the best characters of the show. Looking forward to seeing the sequel. My vote is eight.

Out of the Past
Hitchcoc3 April 2021
The episode begins with Finn trapped in her car with a bomb and a timing device. Her fate is in the hands of DB and a killer he brought to justice in Seattle who is now on death row. This is played for suspense and does a decent job of it. The idea, apparently, is to bring Russell to his knees and destroy his career and that of his lab. Ecklie has returned to being the complete ass he was early on.
