Walton Goggins is one of those actors who I'll watch in anything, so you can bet your shiny chiclet teeth that I'll definitely be checking out John Bronco. The upcoming mockumentary from Jake Szymanski, best known for 7 Days In Hell, Tour De Pharmacy, Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates, and an assortment of skits for Funny or Die and Saturday Night Live, finds Goggins playing John Bronco in the unbelievable story of the rise, fall, and ultimate redemption of the legendary Ford Bronco…...

Who is John Bronco? He’s a world class racer, a rodeo star, a sex symbol and a legendary pitchman who’s face was instantly recognizable on the Ford Bronco and countless products — and he’s also Walton Goggins and never existed.
But that shouldn’t stop anyone from inflating his legend, as the new short film “John Bronco” aims to do. The mockumentary is the latest from Jake Szymanski, the director who told similarly fake sports legends in the films “Tour de Pharmacy” and “7 Days in Hell.”
“John Bronco” though is a different sort of fake sports icon, a 1966 legend whose jingle went triple-platinum and could be heard in ads for his own cologne, breakfast cereal, video game, action figure and more. The film describes him as the “very embodiment of the American dream, that is, until it all came crashing down.”

“You cannot be serious!” was the immortal line John McEnroe bellowed to the umpire at the 1981 Wimbledon Championships. It’s also probably what most people thought when they found out the tennis legend was narrating Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever,” Mindy Kaling‘s coming-of-age comedy about a 15-year-old Indian-American girl named Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan). Never have I ever thought I needed John McEnroe to narrate the life of a boy-crazy teenager, but reader, it works, and the seven-time Grand Slam champ deserves to have “Emmy nominee” added to his list of accomplishments.
McEnroe, who works as a commentator for ESPN and the BBC, is no stranger to pop culture in his post-tennis life. He’s appeared in “Mr. Deeds” (2002), Andy Samberg‘s tennis mockumentary “7 Days in Hell,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and has made numerous visits to “30 Rock,” on which he headlined Kabletown shows “Gold Case,” “America...

The year was 1982, an insane and little-known blip in sports history when so many riders got caught doping in the Tour de France that only five out of 170 were allowed to continue the race — all of whom almost definitely were also on drugs. That’s the delightful premise of HBO’s Tour de Pharmacy, the newest documentary-style sports comedy from the team behind HBO’s 7 Days in Hell, about a fictional seven-day tennis match between Andy Samberg in a peroxide-blonde mullet and Kit Harington in short shorts.

Following on the success of their tennis satire 7 Days in Hell, Andy Samberg and Murray Miller’s next HBO mockumentary project will take on doping in the world of professional cycling.
Titled Tour de Pharmacy, the limited series will star Samberg (as one of the competing cyclists) as well as Hamilton‘s Daveed Diggs, who takes his final bow in the Broadway smash tonight. The cast also includes Last Man on Earth‘s Will Forte, as well as Julia Ormond, Phylicia Rashad, Dolph Lundgren, John Cena,...

Hello, friend. Here's the thing. This Saturday, when you watch HBO's "7 Days in Hell," featuring "Saturday Night Live" scene-breaker Andy Samberg and "Game of Thrones" bastard-who-knows-nothing Kit Harington, you might turn to your loved one/cat/couch cushion and say, "What the hell did I just watch?" And I am here to tell you, it's okay. Because you are not alone. Read More: 6 Must-Watch TV Shows and Movies Coming to HBO Now in July 2015, from 'The Drop' to '7 Days in Hell' First off, we can't call it a TV show because it's a standalone project. We can't really call it a movie because it clocks in at 42 minutes. So let's call it a "comedy special." A comedy special, directed by Jake Szymanski, that debuts under the guise of being a presentation of HBO Sports. HBO Sports is, of course, an esteemed brand when it comes to covering major athletic events,...
