The first match is "The Real Double J" Jesse James versus Salvatore Sincere. Crush crushes Aldo Montoya. Billy Gunn takes on Freddie Joe Floyd. Vince McMahon interviews Steve Austin and Bret Hart via satellite. The main event is Shawn Michaels versus Davey Boy Smith. The first three matches are meh, but the main event is good and the interviews are good.

Stone Cold rules!

Warning: Spoilers
Live from Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Your hosts are Vince McMahon & Jerry Lawler

"Double J" Jessie James Vs Salvatore Sincere

Jessie James wins after a pumphandle slam. This was the battle of unsuccessful gimmicks. Jessie James wouldn't take off until he became The Road Dog. The match was mediocre.

*1/2

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin interrupts Dok Hendrix during the Survivor Series report in epic fashion.

Crush (W/Clarence Mason) Vs Aldo Montoya

Crush wins with the heart punch. JR said it best during this match. This was a preliminary match with an obvious result. Crush pulls a security member from the crowd and beats him up. Crush was starting to catch on with the "jailbird" chants.

3/4*

Steve Austin joins them live in the WWF studio. He complains about the WWF not going to Austin's house. He says if they insist on going to that "crippled freak's" house, he's gonna show up. They show a clip from Superstars of Austin destroying Pillman's injured ankle with a cane, inflicting further damage with a chair. Steve says "DTA" Don't trust anybody. He calls Pillman the biggest puppet in the world for thinking Steve was his friend. Vince says Gorilla should have reprimanded Austin for his actions. Austin says Gorilla is a puppet, and that everybody knows Vince is the boss that makes all the decisions. He dares Vince to do something about it. Steve calls Vince a greedy promoter for wanting Austin and Bret to get it on at Survivor Series. He says he's gonna make a lot of money for this match, but he'd kick Bret's ass for free.

Thoughts: This is amazing stuff from Austin. He was unhinged and brutally honest here. If you're wondering why fans fell in love with Austin, stuff like this is the answer. We even get foreshadowing of Austin and McMahon.

Bret Hart joins Austin from his home in Calgary Alberta to give us a split screen interview as we cut to Sunny come to the ring. I won't complain too much because she looks damn good.

Billy Gunn Vs Freddie Joe Floyd

Billy wins with a legdrop from the top. The main story here is Bart Gunn coming down and having a big confrontation with Billy Gunn. Otherwise, this is just an ordinary squash match.

*

We go back to the split-screen interview. Bret Hart says he took a break from the WWF because of exhaustion. He calls Austin a great wrestler, and knew he would be dealing with a challenge as Austin looks on unimpressed. Austin says Bret Hart is afraid Austin is gonna kick his ass. Bret says he doesn't know if Austin has what it takes to kick his ass. Bret says he still has a lot left to accomplish. Austin is the best wrestler in the WWF until he faces Bret at Survivor Series. Vince asks if Bret is gonna leave the WWF is Austin beats him. Bret says he'll accept defeat and get right back on the horse if that happens. Austin says win, lose, or draw, it's never gonna be over between Bret and Austin. Bret's gonna have to kill Austin to get rid of him. Win, lose, or draw, he's always gonna be on Bret's ass. Bret makes fun of Austin. Austin says he's the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be, and Bret's gonna find that out first hand. Vince cuts Bret off and says there out of time. Austin snaps and throws the production assistant into a ladder. He says nobody counts him down, and smashes a TV monitor.

Thoughts: This is classic stuff! As I said, there is a reason Austin took off like nobody in the business has ever seen. Bret was very effective in his usual classy way. This feud was just getting started.

Austin harasses a nervous security guard and slaps him around.

Shawn Michaels (W/Jose Lothario) Vs The British Bulldog (W/Clarence Mason & Owen Hart)

The match ends in a DQ when Owen Hart gets involved. Sycho Sid runs down for the save. Sid "accidentally on purpose" elbows Shawn Michaels. Sid and Shawn get into it until Owen Hart says he and Bulldog will put the tag team titles on the line against Shawn and Sid. Sid and Shawn fist pump each other. This match was going pretty well until the ending. I would have loved to have seen more.

**3/4

Stone Cold is ushered out by the cops to end Raw.

This was a solid episode of Raw. The main event was pretty good, but it was Austin that stole the show here. If you're an Austin fan, this episode is a must see.

7/10 overall.
