Carter is being used as a pawn. Since they have already assumed his guilt, all activities are being used to get him convicted. Aubrey is strung out. The guy who probably did the murder is making deals. The police are shortcutting. The mother is continuing her vendetta along with that woman who was a victim previously. It's hard to watch.
