The first showdown between Austin and Michaels
callanvass21 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Live from Hershey Park, PA

Your hosts are Kevin Kelly & Jim Ross

Vader (W/Jim Cornette) Vs Phineas Godwinn (W/Hillbilly Jim)

Vader wins with a Vader Bomb from the second turnbuckle. Sycho Sid appeared briefly to try to distract Vader. If you expected a solid match between these two, I'm not really sure you're a wrestling fan. Mediocre stuff.

*1/2

Next, is an interview with Mr. Perfect. Mr. Perfect says there is only one Mr. Perfect in the WWF. Perfect says he's in perfect shape, he has no flaws, he's never had a cavity in his mouth, and he's the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time. He's the greatest athlete the world has ever produced, and he's gonna prove it next week.

Jerry "The King" Lawler Vs Jake "The Snake" Roberts

Jake stumbles out to the ring and appears to be drunk. However, it turns out to be a rouse. He fools Lawler and immediately hits him with a DDT to pick up the win. Jake pours alcohol down Lawler's throat and puts a snake around him after the match to add insult to injury. This is what you call a feel good story. Lawler had hounded Jake and made fun of Roberts constantly about his affliction and alcoholism. This was very well done.

Not Rated.

We get more background on the story of Jeff Jarrett and "The Road Dog" Jessie James. Road Dog left the WWF with Jeff Jarrett, and it lead him to nowhere.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley Vs Freddie Joe Floyd

Helmsley handcuffs his woman at ringside so Mr. Perfect can't come and take her away. Mr. Perfect finds a key anyways, and walks off with her. Helmsley has the match won, but he takes off after Mr. Perfect. Mr. Perfect decks Helmsley with a right hand, and Freddie wins by countout. I don't like Triple H. Never have, probably never will. You won't catch me complaining about him jobbing or being embarrassed. He's hurt many careers with his unbearable ego in the past.

Stone Cold says He's gonna whip the Man's ass (Shawn Michaels) who whipped Bret Hart's ass, tonight and that's the bottom line because Stone Cold said so.

Sunny comes out in a hot pink outfit. She unveils a poster of herself. This was pointless, but I'm not gonna complain. As much criticism as I give her these days for her poor attitude, she was smoking hot back in the day.

Farooq Vs Alex Porteau

Farooq wins with The Dominator. This was a basic squash match. Not much else to say about it.

½*

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin Vs Shawn Michaels (W/Jose Lothario)

Shawn wins by disqualification. Vader runs in and double teams Shawn with Austin. Savio Vega tries to make the save, but he gets a stunner immediately from Austin. Sycho Sid runs down and helps out. Sid and Michaels get into a verbal confrontation after Michaels inadvertently bumps into Sid. The fake Razor Ramon and Diesel watch on from the aisle way. It's a damn shame this only got 7 minutes! This was a lot of fun while it lasted. Austin hadn't reached superstardom yet, but he looked like a star out there.

5/10 overall.

You seem confident.

The first match is Vader versus Phineas Godwinn. Jim Ross interviews Mr. Perfect. Jerry Lawler finally wrestles Jake Roberts. More "Real Double J" crap. Hunter Hearst Helmsley faces Freddie Joe Floyd. Sunny introduces the sexiest Superstar... herself! Mankind cuts a promo on the Undertaker. Faarooq doesn't work up a sweat against Alex Porteau. The Undertaker cuts a promo on Mankind. The main event is Steve Austin versus Shawn Michaels. You'd think with a main event like that, this would be a great episode, but it doesn't last that long until a bunch of guys run in and interfere.
