Damon Salvatore : [to Stefan] Well you didn't think I was gone 'gone', I promised you an eternity of misery.
Elena Gilbert : [there is a knock on her door] Who is it?

[goes to open]

Damon Salvatore : Hey, it's me.

[Elena hesitates]

Damon Salvatore : I just... I just wanna talk.

Elena Gilbert : I can't... Not now.

Damon Salvatore : Look, I know why you did what you did. It's not real. You know what's real? It's the way you felt for me. You once told me that it was the most real thing you ever felt in your life.

Elena Gilbert : Those feelings are gone.

[her hand reaches out to the door handle]

Damon Salvatore : I hear you breathing. You have no idea how long I wanted to hear you breathe.

[she hesitates again]

Damon Salvatore : Just open the door, Elena. And everything can go back to the way it was.

[tries to open]

Damon Salvatore : Just... just open the door, Elena, please. Or at the very least, step aside, because I'm kicking this door in.
