Perhaps my favorite episode- if I had to choose an episode to introduce someone to the series, I would use this one. It's thought-provoking and just incredibly grand.

When she sings 'you go to my head'... it's sublime. It's incredible. I love this show in general, but this may have been the very best.

Exposure of the Upper Crust

This episode takes place entirely on the estate of a woman who is known as Bunny. Her staff has rabbit ears, there is carrot cake and real carrots. The very top of society is there, mostly because they are involved with the orchestra. Rodrigo flits from place to place, being his own person, not selling out to these people. He continues to parley his humble roots into a charming persona. Hailey has been given instructions to experience things. She spends time with an incredibly rich man (apparently one of the Guggenheims) and they hit it off nicely. He is an ordinary looking man, but he has a charm and a sort of charismatic presence. He embraces Hailey's ambitions and tells her that she has clearly told her story. She had initially told him how boring she was. Hailey's roommate, Elizabeth, meets a former admirer and ends up singing the Billie Holiday song that is the title of this episode. The real complexities of the orchestra are portrayed here.
