Sex & Nudity

  • Fleeting scenes of breasts in background characters. Lengthy views of a man posing nude for a painting, actual genitals blocked from view, but long views of the painting showing exaggerated genitals which elicits comments.
  • Several characters engage in marital infidelity. We also see characters spooning in unusual situations and a young man nuzzling an older woman's clothed breasts.
  • At a meeting, sex addicts describe in mild terms their temptations. One addict is a recurring character who likes to expose himself, but no genitals are shown.
  • A neighbor is a porn producer. The Blunt Talk staff watch a porn parody of their show. We only see breasts.

Violence & Gore

  • We see a character who has been assaulted, with a bruised cheek and bandaged arm.
  • Scenes of warfare are remembered on multiple occasions. We see people shot and killed, without blood. Some are screaming in agony and fear.
  • A kidnapper threatens to shoot a hostage with a pistol.
  • During a colonoscopy we see inside a character's colon; it's not gory.

Profanity

  • Recurring but not frequent use of "fuck" and lesser vulgarities. Occasional reference to a cat as "pussy" with intended innuendo.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Frequent alcohol consumption, often to drunkenness.
  • Some reference to narcotics. Mescaline is accidentally ingested, and the character has hallucinations.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Mostly too over the top to be frightening, but some war flashbacks and descriptions of real-world violence can be disturbing.
