2016-12-29T09:43:57-08:00What Are You Watching New Year's Eve?
Considering the lack of love for 2016 that's prominent in the air right now, this New Year's Eve might be more conducive of celebration than most. If you're looking for televised celebration to help you say good riddance to 2016, you can look to some reliable favorites and a new addition or two.
Network TV has long been the place to go for New Year's Eve festivities, including the Times Square ball drop, and that tradition continues this year.
On ABC, you've got Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest starting at 8pm; the show has aired continuously since 1973, and this will be the fifth year that Seacrest hosts without the assistance of the late Clark. Guests include Mariah Carey and Gloria Estefan in NYC, plus a plethora of other performers beamed in from other cities around the world.

It looks like Taraji P. Henson won't ring in 2016 with a midnight kiss with a certain football player.
The Empire star denied she is dating Kelvin Hayden during Pitbull's New Year's Revolution special Thursday night – despite pictures of the two holding hands on the beach in Miami that surfaced Tuesday.
During the broadcast, Wendy Williams asked Henson, 45, if she's really dating the man she's been "photographed with."
"I have no idea," the actress responded. "Yeah, you can’t believe everything you read. Until you hear it from me, it’s false."
That solves that!

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, December 31, 2014. ABC's "Dick Clark's Primetime New Year's Rockin' Eve 2015" ruled New Year's Eve Wednesday in all measures, rising very slightly from last year's telecast. NBC's New Year's Eve coverage, including the climactic telecast hosted by Carson Daly, was good for second on the night. And as for Fox's "Pitbull's New Year's Revolution"? Well, at least Fox beat CBS drama repeats among young viewers (though not overall). On to the numbers, which are preliminary and subject to change due to liveness for half of the country... Among adults 18-49, ABC averaged a 2.7 rating for Wednesday night, tops in the key demographic. NBC was a distant second with a 1.2 key demo rating. Fox's 0.7 key demo rating edged out CBS' 0.6 key demo rating, while The CW did a 0.3 key demo rating for Wednesday primetime. Overall, ABC averaged an estimated 9.62 million viewers and a 4.8 rating/10 share for Wednesday night.
