Top Notch Performance
TriniSimSim21 September 2015
I've never written a review before but I noticed that this had no reviews as yet and felt that it deserved someone to share how wonderful it was. I'm not going to talk about filming and directing as I know nothing about all that. I will tell you about what I saw and more importantly what I felt.

First, let me say I've been a big fan of Korean dramas for the past few years. I have never thought much of Ji Sung prior to this. I thought that his acting skills were okay/moderate in his previous dramas. Either he had never previously been given the opportunity to really flex his skills or he has matured with experience over the years. I was blown away by his performance in Kill Me Heal Me. It would be an ambitious project for any actor to portray 7 distinctly different personalities. He not only does so but accomplishes it with such depth that you actually forget that they are "personalities." You begin to see them as separate people and grow attached to each character. You feel their pain and joy and root for every single one of them. This bond with the characters, without giving away any plot points is a crucial factor in the emotional roller coaster journey throughout the drama to its conclusion. Ji Sung's skills were so incredible that it got to the point where you are able to identify the personality switch just by minute changes in his facial expression even without dialog, hair and clothing changes. I cannot say enough about the amazing performance he put forward in this project. Whether you are a fan of the story or not, you can't help but admire what he accomplished with this. If he doesn't win the Daesang for this, there is something seriously wrong with the judging system. The rest of the cast, Hwang Jung-Eum, Park Seo-Joon and the other supporting actors all give strong performances and there are no weak links. By that I mean, you don't feel let down or bored as the plot line switches to secondary plot threads.

You will laugh and cry hard in this drama. For those of you not accustomed to the Korean style of humor in many dramas, it can sometimes get slapstick and over the top which is not everyone's cup of tea. However the humor in this drama will appeal universally. There are moments that will make you laugh so much you will cry and then there are others that will break your heart and make you cry for real.

If you are looking for something that is a scientifically accurate portrayal of multiple personality disorder and you are going to nitpick every little inconsistency, then skip this. However if you are looking for a drama that you can lose yourself in, and one that will make you FEEL. Then watch this, you won't be disappointed.

Ji sung is the best actor
pinky_elevenshi28 October 2018
After I watched the drama. I couldn't go on without praising the main lead role. Ji sung one actor but played many roles. He also admitted that he was struggle because of his roles but he still managed to come through and gave us the best show. Thank you Ji sung.

Emotional rollercoaster
kempandjohnson7 July 2019
Amazing acting especially from the lead with the multiple personalities. Very emotional, with lead dealing with both a mental disorder and a seriously dysfunctional and non-supportive family. As an Australian watching this with English subtitles, some nuances are lost on me (such as Korean accent differences of the various "alter" personalities) however this drama still has an enormous impact, and I'm grateful Netflix made it available. I also thought the production standards were high - the music is memorable, even the architecture such as the house interior (set) of the lead character. Worth watching whatever country you are from, and I note this deservedly won various Korean TV awards.

Nothing, but pure entertainment. Must Watch!
zairamshikari22 September 2016
If you are reading this review, you probably might be interested in watching this TV show.I hope this review will change the "might be" part to "must be" 😂 Okay then!! kill me heal me, is one of those rare shows that is packed with almost all kind of emotions you look for in a good show. Suspense, mystery, romance, comedy and what not?! You will laugh, cry, smile, scream, go like "wtf" through out your journey with this show. This drama never loses its plot. It has an amazing story line. Plus the acting by all the actors is so on point. Ji Sung couldn't have played the role of a person suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder any better. He maintains an amazing balance between all his personalities. And trust me, you are going to admire all of them. While falling completely for his aggressive personality "Shin Se Gi". He even transforms into a 17 year old girl, "Yo Na". She is a total fun to watch. The actress of this drama, Oh ri jin, is again a very charming character. She is a psychiatrist by profession and secretly treats Cha do Hyun, who wants to hide his disorder from the world. Oh ri on is another beautiful character to watch out for. He plays the role of Oh ri jin's twin brother in the series, and there is no way that you won't end up feeling his plight by the end of this show. The story takes amazing twists and turns you wouldn't be expecting of. And ends up on a very good note Writer Jin Soo Wan has so beautifully written this delicate script. The complexities of this story will surely leave you thinking hard. But as the story will unfurl itself, you will find yourself completely in love with it. Do watch this show.. It surely is a breath of fresh air..

One of the greatest KDramas
AJ_McAninch9 October 2019
Like millions, I love beautiful, brilliant Ji Sung and this series he is so wonderful in. For me, he is the greatest of Korean actors, which is saying a lot because I think they're the best in the world today, and have at least a dozen favorites. (I also love his wife, Lee Bo Young: "Mother" is extraordinary.) And I love Park Seo Joon as well, so "Kill Me, Heal Me" is a real treat. It is my 3rd time watching it. Decided to after "Doctor John" and a very rough week I'm healing from. . . . pun intended. It was the right decision: Already a classic in every sense and one of the greatest of all KDramas-Settle in for the ride.

Perfect, before I hear an interview of DID patient
madbird-6124311 November 2018
To me, this drama is perfect, in the entertainment point of view. Jisung is at his height, in turn of his outlook and acting skills. So smart in his suit as a wealthy third generation of a great family. Female lead is equally terrific, acting as a always pleasant and witty doctor.

Needless to say, the plot excel among all other kdramas, portraying Jisung as a DID patient with 7 personalities. One of his identities as a girl is impressive, with him wearing pink dress running around the street.

In turn if we judge from medical point of view I think female lead is quite professional as a psychiatry. I like her way of treating different identities as friends to help Jisung, and give them each a gift before they are leaving.

Not until I hear an interview of an actual DID patient in my place. He is discontented with many of the movies and dramas which usually portray their identities as harmful and aggressive. In fact, according to him, that is not the case in real.

This is my only negative comment to kmhm. Otherwise in entertaining aspect, it is beyond doubt a perfect drama.

Wonderful Drama
gbemi_fadeyibi2 June 2019
It took me 4 years to finally watch this drama, after hearing how great it was over and over again. Boy am I glad I finally decided to see it. I have to say for a fact, this is the best kdrama I have ever seen. The plot and pacing was perfect, I didn't get bored at any point and was completely intrigued by the show from beginning till the end. I religiously watched every episode without skipping any parts (believe me for every drama I start skipping parts from the 7th episode, so this is huge for me) The acting....oh the acting was absolutely on point! Ji sung was phenomenal in every character, the subtle changes, the movements, the way of speaking everything was perfect. Park Seo Joon nailed his character as well, my heart was broken for him Hwang Jung Eum really delivered well on the emotions. The side characters were really good too, not one acting hole in place. I liked that the writer ended the drama cleanly, it was all about Cha do Hyun and his personalities. No grand showdown at Seungjin group or with his father.

Now that I've finished the drama, I feel a weird sense of loss because I'm not sure I would have come across a Kdrama this good ever again. It really kept me company for several days and was always looking forward to running home to watch a new episode. Oh well... what I'm trying to say is that You should totally see the movie

A must watch!
giteckm21 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
What a plot! Actor Ji Sung's acting is mind-blowing.He has portrayed 7 different characters with utmost sincerity.Kudos to this man!! I think only Ji Sung could have done justice to the role.Actress Hwang Jung-eum also played her part well. The chemistry between both leads was excellent. Other support casts were good too. The music is excellent too!!

This drama showcases Child Abuse and its effects. You will never get bored of any scenes or episodes. The lead pair must act in more dramas together. In this drama they were paired for the second time.

This drama is a must watch!

Good but..............
reccca11 October 2020
The female lead overreacting and exaggerating. Its so annoying and ruins the mood.

While changing personality, why should they change the makeup instead of showing different facial expressions and personality in acting?

***Fallen in love with this show and South Korea - Review by Indian ***
LakshmiKanth_Vizzu12 March 2016
I watched this series neither even having any idea about the show nor i know the language. I watched the show with English Subs, believe me!! It is simply the best show i ever came across in recent times. The lead actor and actress is just awesome and all i could do is praise their splendid performances. They are just fantastic. The plot is one of the another highlight in the show. It simple makes the audience drop their jaws. I laughed and cried at the same times. The music is haunting in such a way that, i even sometimes dream of it. You made it South Korea, you truly deserve some respect. I will simply place this next to Breaking Bad. To all the people in the world, all i want to say is go catch it right away. Rating 9/10

Interesting and unusual
Mr_Avenger18 July 2021
A drama based on a psychological multiple character disorder. The main lead man was incredible in his role. The storyline was also interesting enough with many plot twists. Unlike most dramas that start strong and then they flop towards the ending, this one starts badly and has a strong ending. The ost is great too.

The cons start with the overreacting and annoying behaviour of the lead female which some times exaggerate and ruins the mood . Plus the romance was weak, but the drama focused on the background story more than the romance .

It way okay but not best
Misss2531 January 2022
I found this drama quite annoying at some time because of the lead actress. This drama seems lengthy to me, unnecessarily dragging. Though there are some mysteries but these seems to be creepy. At the middle the drama becomes really funny but rest is disturbing. But the lead actor did an amazing wonderful work, he represents these personality perfectly.

One the greatest K-drama ever - will be a great Classic, definitely.
ladymeow20007 June 2019
One the greatest K-drama ever. Great writing and casts. Excellent acting by everyone, especially the 3 main lead super stars, and full of thrilling yet heart-wrenching moments as well laughing out loud moments. I can watch this Kdrama many times and will never get tired or bored. Highly recommended. Watch out for Yuna, one of the personalities. She is outrageously funny and Ji Sung really plays her very well. Love it...

A perfect, totally captivating acting delight
bpranoti21 December 2019
Firstly, amazing story line. The story did not deviate from its path even a single time. All the suspense was shocking enough to make you praise the script over and over. Hats off to the acting of all actors who made complete justice to their characters.

This was the first time I saw any drama of Ji Sung and I was speechless after seeing his acting. You could recognize every personality of his just by looking at his face. Portrayal of Oh Ri Jin by Hwang Jung-eum was also marvelous. It was fun to see how she tries to minimize the damage caused by his personalities to his reputation. Even though Park Seo Joon did not share the same amount of screen space with other lead actors, he would definitely leave a sharp impression of him. He was childish but caring as Oh Ri On while unbelievably professional as Omega. Every time he cared for his sister, I wished I had a big brother like him who would make his sister strong enough to face the world on her own. All the supporting actors were also amazing.

This drama totally captivated me and I was unable to stop even after the episode ended. I am really thankful that I watched this drama. If you have seen this name even once, just start this drama, you will not regret your decision.

Don't watch episode 8 on a train!
chilligrrl7 March 2020
This is a top notch drama, it'll make you laugh your butt off, cry your eyes out and enjoy every minute of it. Whatever you do though, don't watch episode 8 in the quiet carriage of a train. I made that mistake, and a whole carriage full of people now think i'm a lunatic for laughing so hard so randomly. I mean, tears were streaming down my face kind of hard laughter at the fangirling scene.

Well worth the watch, the lead actor is brilliant playing all the different characters, and he is totally hot eye candy as Se-Gi. Mmmmmmm.

One of my favorite series
anubharathi30 September 2017
One of my favorite series, especially best casting and story line. each episode had a curiosity of what gonna happen next, and what had happened before, that made us watch the series at a stretch. Nowadays only "Kill me heal me" background music is in my playlist, got addicted to the music, even i don't understand the language, the music and the scenes made a huge impact to me. Only after watching this series i saw Ji Sung's other series, apart from other series this is his best i would say.

I love all your personalities because they are you.
jgardiner-871-72672921 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I have found this drama so fascinating that I haven't stopped to take notes but just bulldozed my way through trying to interpret this puzzle about how this man got to have these different personalities and how he is trying to cope with them. This is a totally different drama than all of the other ones I have watched.

Hwang Jung Eum/Oh Ri Jin is falling in love with all of his different personalities for after all they are all him.

Now that I have completed watching this drama I'm analysing how I feel because its a story like know other that I have watched. It was mesmerising. It had strange deja vu as the different characters were revealed. They were him but some one completely different. It's hard to understand that that these things can really happen. It was portrayed so well in this drama. The two main actors were outstanding in the roles that they played as these two really lost people who fate and destiny had brought back together after so many years to reveal their stories of hurt and pain. It was very well done.

Ji Sung/Cha Do Hyeon - This is the first time I've watched this actor and what an exceptional, unique and noteworthy role he played as these various characters. He was outstanding at characterizing each ones personalities.

Here are the personalities

Shin Se-Gi: Looks like a rock star, fights like a MMA champion. He doesn't allow Do-Hyun to be bullied. Also, in an unusual twist, he is the man stuck in the second lead syndrome. - He was awesome I loved this character. I never wanted him to leave. As I have said before I love bad boys

Perry Park: A happy-go-lucky ajussi who loves fishing and has a knack for building bombs. -The guy was fun and full of life the oldest.

Yo-Sub: An artistic and sensitive high school boy who is suicidal. The series title comes from an incident where he writes, "Kill Me," prior to his plan to commit suicide. Upon finding this, Ri-Jin changes his graffiti to, "Heal Me." - This boy was too serious,

Yo-Na: Yo-Sub's twin sister. The 17-year-old loves K-Pop and handsome men, like Ri-Jin's twin brother, Ri-On. - This girl was the funniest. She was a handful for everyone to handle.

Na-Na: A 7-year-old who embodies the traumas Do-Hyun remembers from his childhood. - Lovely Nana was the remembrance of their childhood together.

Mr. X: Looks like a magician. Behaves like a father. - This guy came to magic them all back together.

Hwang Jung Eum/Oh Ri Jin and Park Seo Joon/Oh Ri On Ri Jin's Brother I watched in "She Was Pretty"

Good enough
PennyReviews16 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Kill me, heal me is an odd drama, in every way. First of all, it has an odd story that goes deeper and deeper, with plots and twists and more personalities jumping up from everywhere. And then there is the fact that unlike most dramas that start strong and then they flop towards the ending, this one starts badly and has a strong ending (wow talking about an odd drama!!) Okay, this one reminded me of the good old days when I was watching She was pretty and the entertainer (same actors, all favourites of mine!!). The story also brought back memories of the drama It's okay, it's love, though the later was dealing with mental health issues better and more in depth, even though Kill me, heal me deals more with children abuse. The story is nice, with a guy who has several personalities, all different (even a seventeen old girl!) who hires a personal doctor to help him keep them under control and not get caught by his family. In the meantime, the background story of them both is being revealed. The performances were on the point and really great, especially from the lead actor, who was amazing with changing his personality from a suicidal teen to a bad boy adventurer. The soundtrack was nice, but the same song kept playing over and over and it started getting annoying in the end. Plus the romance was weak, but the drama focused on the background story more than the romance so it was okay to not have the strong love story. I'm not sure if there was a love triangle in this one (SPOILER was her "brother" in love with her?) though it would have been unnecessary if there was. But only because it got boring in the middle and the beginning was weak, I'll rate this one 6 out of 10.
