Edc 2017: Inside Dance Music’s Mecca With Drake, Rezz, Diplo, Alison Wonderland and Lil Jon (Photos)
The 21st Electric Daisy Carnival, the largest dance music festival in North America, took place outside Las Vegas this weekend. Costumes, neon, and bass drops were expected. Drake (center), was not. The Kinetic Field main stage was rebuilt from scratch this year, dubbed “Kinetic Gaia”. Illuminating the intersection of nature and technology, the most popular and mainstream artists like Tiesto, Dillon Francis, Hardwell, and trance legend Armin Van Buuren played here. One totem-toting fan in the crowd at Metro Boomin’s midnight set on Sunday must have been tipped off about the rap royalty about to appear. “(Metro Boomin) brought me to space.

Late last month, Insomniac Events revealed that their Electric Daisy Carnival brand would be expanding to Asia to launch the first ever Edc India. India has been steadily establishing itself as one of dance music’s most promising emerging markets over the last several years, and their inclusion in the bolstering Edc family cements the country’s status as a place to watch for Edm lovers. Now, Insomniac has revealed the phase one lineup for the upcoming event, securing a number of top notch headliners and supporting acts slated to perform later this year.
The first wave of the lineup reveals that a number of the biggest DJs in the game are set to throw down at Edc India’s inaugural event, including such powerhouses as Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Alesso, Yellow Claw, R3HAB, and Tommy Trash. A number of local DJs have been sprinkled in with the world famous acts as well,...

The Chainsmokers have been enjoying a wave of success over the last year, dropping a slew of chart topping singles that have seen the duo cross over from Edm to pop, while holding down a constant schedule of sold out shows and headlining festival appearances. A new video clip has surfaced of the duo preparing for their performance at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas earlier this summer, detailing the behind the scenes events leading up to their show.
The clip depicts stunning footage of The Chainsmokers flying in a helicopter over Sin City, hanging with fellow DJ Tiësto backstage, riding golf carts around the festival grounds and more. It’s a rare look behind the scenes of the life of a DJ, and Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall are predictably entertaining to watch. Of course there’s plenty of footage of the two musicians on stage performing their familiar tunes for fans to obsess over.

Day 2 is now in the books, and as Electric Daisy Carnival (Edc) Las Vegas gets ready to wrap up tonight, fans are eager to see what Insomniac has in store for the third and final day. Before that, though, we can now relive some of the most epic sets from last night, as a number of them have surfaced online.

For now, though, we’ve got Oliver Heldens, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Afrojack, Dash Berlin and a couple of others to share with you.

Day 1 of Electric Daisy Carnival (Edc) Las Vegas was full of surprises, with artists revealing new tracks and collabs left, right and centre as they brought out one special guest after another. Perhaps one of the most surprising moments though was when Jauz introduced none other than Tiësto during his set to premiere their new song.
Undoubtedly, this sounds a lot more like something the former artist would make, with his signature bass and bounce all over it. Then again, it might just not be finished yet and Tiësto could still be working on his contributions. Either way, there’s no doubt that this is a massive track and it will definitely be sending some shockwaves around the Edm community once it officially releases.
Until then, check it out in the video above and let us know if you’re digging the new Jauz/Tiësto collab by leaving a comment in the usual place.

Insomniac doesn’t mess around when it comes to lineups. The company has consistently impressed us year after year by revealing star studded rosters for their events, all with a nice variety of genres and artists, ensuring that there’s always something for everyone.
Tonight, they continue that trend with the full lineup for Edc (Electric Daisy Carnival) Las Vegas, which was announced on the latest edition of Night Owl Radio, Insomniac’s weekly radio show. As per usual though, the names were revealed in a rather cryptic manner and while we still don’t have an official list to consult, the Edm community has taken to Reddit to start putting the pieces together.

During his set at Electric Daisy Carnival New York, Afrojack debuted a new ID that sees the producer exploring the ever popular future bass style. The never before heard tune, speculatively titled “Say Goodbye” comes as something as a surprise for the Dutch DJ, who has tended to stick to a main stage house style for the majority of his tracks.
“Say Goodbye” opens with a somber chord progression and sparse percussion, accompanied by the crooning of an unknown female vocalist. Afrojack takes it to the next level on the drops, which are dominated by head nodding trap beats, futuristic chord stabs and pitch modulated vocal chops.
Afrojack shows off his versatility as a producer on the new track, proving his hand at the new style to memorable results. “Say Goodbye” is definitely one for the dance floors, and we’ll be excited to see if the superstar DJ continues...

The annual Electronic Music Awards & Foundation will debut on April 23rd and will be broadcasted exclusively on Fox.

After throwing down countless headlining performances for the world’s biggest music festivals like Ultra, TommorowWorld, and Electric Daisy Carnival, Martin Garrix has just ended the biggest year of his career. Despite the drama with Spinnin’ Records, the Dutchman is carrying on with plans for his own label, and has just released a “Year in Music” mix to celebrate all that 2015 had to offer.
With the help of Insomniac, Garrix’s “Year in Music” is nothing short of majestic. Hitting off with the energetic electro of Mightyfools’ “Garuda,” the tracklist goes on to include more of the emotive melodies Garrix is known for. With festival season drawing to a close, it’s often easy to forget about the shows taking place well into the cold months – but if Insomniac Events has anything to say about it, there will still be at least one occasion to remember. The organizers of Edc Orlando have announced the event’s official lineup, and it promises to be one for the books.
The Orlando version of Electric Daisy Carnival – whose flagship festival has taken place in Las Vegas for the last several years – will see performances by main stage heavyweights like Tiësto, Kaskade and Calvin Harris as well as underground favorites like Eric Prydz, Get Real and Justin Martin. Major artists like Bassnectar, Andy C and DJ Snake round out the bass music end of the Edm spectrum as well, meaning that in true Insomniac fashion the festival will have something for everyone.

Insomniac is bringing their flagship festival, Electric Daisy Carnival (Edc) to Brasil this December, and today they’ve announced the full lineup. Featuring a ton of notable names in Edm, such as Above & Beyond, Arty, Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Nervo and more, the event is shaping up to be something quite special. But then again, that’s to be expected.
As one of the premier names in the industry, Insomniac never disappoints, and consistently puts on quality festivals that rival the best of what’s out there. Anyone who’s been to Edc Las Vegas can attest to the fact that it really is nothing like you’ve ever seen before, and if the Brasil edition is even half as magical, then those in South America are going to be in for a real treat.
