Sex & Nudity

  • Season 1 - lady in bikini laying on naked mans leg. Peddlers selling porn. Girl in her under garments. Statement said of "your body got you wet". A visual is shown where someone is warm in he groin. Sex life mentioned. Porn in a video game. Lots of various sexual words said in differing inflections thought the season.
  • Season 2 - visual stains on bed sheets insinuating sex. Boobs visually shown. Said "win in drinking and you can do anything you want to me".
  • I'm one episode zapp is seen with an erection
  • Zapp has an erection after defeating a blood breed
  • A witch used a spell to make a woman's boobs explode. She also used the spell on zaps penis and threatened him to find her cat or his penis will explode

Violence & Gore

  • A witch casts a spell on a woman's breast resulting said breast exploding leaving blood
  • Violence is often present, occasionally rather graphic.
  • Some characters gush blood from non-fatal wounds as a form of sight gag.
  • Most of the violence is fisticuff and standard-issue anime fantasy battles. Some members of Libra can draw their blood outside of their bodies, manipulate it, and use it for attacks (stylized, not typically graphic). The casualties of the incidents aren't brushed off--death tolls are sometimes mentioned, sometimes creatures are seen thrashing passerby and leaving bloody streaks on the pavement.

Profanity

  • Season 1 - 20-30 words per episode on average. Vocally said freaking, balls, hell, dickheads, damn, hellsalem, pisses, hell spawn, dickbag, crap, asshole, crapbag, damnit, god damn, dick printed on screen, dickhead, ass, screwing, bitch, she bitch, bastard, assbag, prick, smart ass, friggin freaky, geese, finger several times, dumbass, holy crap, what the hell, ballsy, hellish, halfassed, jackass, hell pie, nutshit, son of a bitch.
  • Season 2 - 30-40 per episode on average. Most of the same words from the first season with some more colorful words as well.
  • Zapp is well know for being crude . He calls chain a she bitch and Leo pubic hair.
  • Steven says f--k in one episode
  • Occasionally some people will throw the middle finger
  • The series uses mild language, such as "freaking", "hell", "damn", "piss", "crap", "ass", "bastard" and "screw", but moderate language like "balls", "dick/dickhead", "asshole", "goddamn", "bitch/son of a bitch", "prick", "smartass", "dumbass", "jackass" and "shit/bullshit" are also used. "The F-word" is said once.
  • Contains lots of colorful language.
  • Occasional course language, ('bitch', 'bastard') are used relatively frequently in both the sub and the dub. The dub sometimes invokes stronger language ('dick', 'shit').

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In one episode, zap is seen high with some girl in bed
  • Many characters smoke or occasionally seen drinking socially. (Zapp in particular has a penchant for cigars and drinking to excess.)

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Frequent action sequences involving battles with villainous humans, vampires, and other creatures. High stakes and lots of collateral damage. Sometimes a pedestrian gets killed in peripheral.

Violence & Gore

  • Some gunshots blow creatures' heads off (including in the first sequence of the show). (Episode 1 and 12)
  • A character ensnares dozens of creatures in a fine thread made of manipulated blood and pulls it taut, slicing them all to pieces. (Episode 12)
  • A creature, as a result of a psychic attack, swells up large and explodes in a torrent of neon pink goop. (Episode 10)
  • A creature is sliced into pieces until bursting into green goop and chunks of flesh, but instantly regenerates. (Episode 1)
  • A character punches a creature so hard its head explodes. (Episode 7)
  • A character slashes an assailant's throat, blood gushes. (Episode 3)
  • A character's eyes shatter like glass and bleed from the cracks (seen later to have recovered). (Episode 4 & 12)
  • Two characters get jumped, captured, and beaten severely with an aluminum bat. One of them gets hit in the head and a large amount of blood pools on the floor. (Episode 6)
  • The aftermath of a massacre (censored for broadcast) is shown in a diner after a mob shake-down, with talk of the dead being cooked in a meal to feed their boss; played for morbid humor. Another eatery shows a man's brain exposed (also censored for broadcast). (Episode 10)
  • The infamous exploding head scene from Scanners is briefly depicted (animated) as some characters watch the film. (Episode 11)
  • A character is shot point-blank in the chest (seen from a distance, no blood). (Episode 11)
  • There's talk of a character who was puréed and infused in another's veins, illustrated using footage of a ketchup advertisement in lieu of an actual flashback. However, we do see a brief glimpse of the grisly scene. (Episode 5)
  • A character is hit by a truck multiple times. (No serious injuries; played for slapstick.) (Episode 6)
