Funny how the rating is so different before and during the actual pandemic
freedomyau9 January 2022
I would rate this series ok. Not extremely good but not bad as most of the review either. People probably think it wasn't going to be possible but as you can see if in the real pandemic situation, nothing is impossible.

There are a few plot that can script better but again, it's not as bad as most of the review indicate. Indeed some of the screen were unnecessary and it does get a little boring here and there.

Enjoying it so far
roseybaby63-59-4314927 April 2016
I've seen some bad reviews here, but I don't understand why. I suppose it's just a matter of individual taste. I've seen two episodes so far and I'm really in to it. The story and writing are very good and the acting also good. We get to see the infection from patient zero, which is nice. So far, we don't know how the infection first originated, although we are told where it came from.

The characters are interesting. They're good people put in a horrible, terrifying situation. I like seeing how the different people handle what's going on. Things are slowly getting worse for them all. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. It's a tense, but very human story. I like many of the characters.

As I said, I don't understand why some people don't like it. All I know, is I'll be watching more episodes.

More 28 days later than the walking dead.
nick-461-98187328 April 2016
My review on "Containment" the pilot was amazing and I see no reason why reviews are so bad on IMDb

I found it refreshing, not especially original, but the pilot kept my attention the whole time.

The premise of the show is what would happen if a biological attack happened in the states or anywhere else in the world, and what would happen next.

Would the infrastructure be there to contain this, and how would this affect the population and what would the detrimental effect be on the immediate population be.

Brilliant

Firstly, I do love virus movies and shows like Outbreak and Last Ship but this one really has a soul, you can't help but feel along with the characters. The human element is not lost like what happens in so many Zombie shows and movies. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love The Walking Dead but this show is just as good but in a different way.

To let you know where I'm at, I have just finished watching the 5th episode. The show is building at a perfect pace and the character development is wonderful. If this was to really happen in a city in the U.S., this is how it would probably be handled, it has a very real feel to it. Some characters started off cowardly and scared and have developed into brave and helpful people while others have gone the other way. Some, like the lead police character have pretty much been the same person from the beginning. Lex is a genuine good cop who just happens to have the love of his life inside the danger zone or what the show calls the "Cordon". This is not a spoiler, you find out very quickly in the first episode how they get separated on either sides of the cordon. This is very painful to him but he does not let it interfere with his duty to the people of Atlanta.

Don't buy into those silly reviews that are always race, creed or religion biased, those people will never be happy. This is not about the Syrians being evil or the black people being gang bangers or the white people being the goodies, there are all types of people inside the cordon and they are reacting very much like they would if this was real life, most are good, some are bad, enjoy the show.

It's OK but...
They have Protocols ALL wrong in this. I was NBC (Nuclear Biological Chemical) in the military. First off local police would only be there to direct local traffic in a situation where an unknown biological threat is found. The CDC Homeland Security and even FBI would be there. EVERYBODY would in a military Hazmat suit so that anybody entering the situation is safe. The hospital would have to be a Level one Hospital equip with an Infectious Disease ward where anybody exposed to "patient zero" would be put into. The walls ceilings and floors in Quarantine are all white tile. There are ZERO windows in Quarantine. Nobody is allowed in and everybody who is authorized to be in the ward MUST wear a Hazmat suit at ALL times to prevent risk of exposure. Nothing is allowed in QUARANTINE. NO cell phones, or electronic device. There isn't any TV in the room. All you can do to relieve boredom and maintain any shred of sanity is to count all 2000+ tiles in the room.

I won't go into great detail about the entire list of proper protocol in such a situation. I am watching this miniseries with my hubby who wasn't NBC but Intelligence in the military and we were picking it apart on what they did wrong.

I like the show just that the writers didn't do enough research on protocols when such a situation arrives.

Warning: Spoilers
Trafficking in stereotypes - if only there was a law against that.

"Containment" immediately got on my bad side as it appears the producers are cashing in on the fear mongering about immigrants, Arabs, Syrians, (not to mention terrorism and bio-warfare) so common in America.

Stereotypes - we all love that word, but as so many of the derivative productions we today depend upon such, there is no need to come up with a new word as "stereotype" works fine for so many of the characters in Containment.

So far, after episode 1, Containment offered little to nothing novel or noteworthy to the current TV offerings.

I found it hard to take Claudia Black seriously as the Fed heavy, being she is fixed in my mind as the star of Farscape and then a major role in Stargate. Her character here as Sabine Lommers doesn't really go with her Aussie accent, and Black plays the character with a bit too much ill-temperedness.

David Gyasi does an acceptable job the police major.

One question - why are all the characters so angry (that is, before confinement?) Perhaps director was trying too hard to get people to emote.

The dialogue can be ham-fisted at times: "trust the system", "have faith in the authorities", etc. - as if the viewer has to be spoon-fed the conflict that the protagonists are supposed to feel as their world comes crashing down around them.

Currently I give this 6 stars because some of the supporting actors are fine and the production decent (but not great - the music I found uninspired), but I'll probably change my rating down if I keep watching this and the story never moves the characters beyond stereotypes.

Definitely Worth Watching
smcleod-5903815 November 2016
So, there's a lot of negativity on here about this show, which is what led me to create and IMDb account and create this review.

My advice? Ignore that negativity, unless, of course, you're a scientist learning how to fight an outbreak by watching a TV show, or if you're a cop... trying to learn how to fight an outbreak by watching a TV show.

This show is entertaining, with some good performances by various actors/actresses, and is compelling in more than one respect. Is it spot-on science, logical policing, and top- notch writing? No. But it never attempts to be, and my opinion is that most of the negative reviews of this show are the result of unrealistic and ill-founded expectations.

To put it plainly: I watched this because I LOVED 'Outbreak,' with Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, Rene Russo, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Kevin Spacey, and Donald Sutherland (amongst others). If you haven't seen it, go watch it. And, before or after you do so, watch this, too. Enjoy it for what it is, and I assure you that you'll be entertained; scrutinize every little detail and section of dialogue, then it surely won't satisfy some need for utter and unadulterated non-fiction.

Something tells me the people that didn't like this show are the same sorts of people that criticized Star Wars for having unrealistic explosions in space. Although I'm obviously not comparing this to Star Wars, some people really just need to get over themselves and learn how to enjoy a good story, regardless of whether it would actually happen this way in the real world.

Not as bad as the reviews make out
wilza7610 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I actually really enjoyed this show - I blitzed it over the course of a week. I don't usually write reviews, however after all the negativity I'm seeing when reading the reviews of this show I felt it was worth giving my side of the story as some of the criticism is just unfair.

This was recommended to me by my CIO and my sister who both loved it. I'm definitely a TV series addict and had run out of good shows to watch so gave this a shot. If i'm not grabbed by the first few episodes I never stick it out. This show kept me till the end. For a show only lasting one season I was surprised how well they managed to get the viewer to buy into the lead characters. That's down to both great acting and good writing. I thought the delivery was great and there were no boring/flat filler episodes unlike some shows with ten times the budget (GOT). I've seen the reviews criticising white male bashing and liberalism - what a joke. One of the leads was a white male who I thought was the true star of the show. There was 1 ten min scene in the whole show about police brutality - wake up - it happens - the show didn't spend 13 episodes on that, it was 10 mins and i thought it was dealt with well. Some people just do not like to see a black lead in a show, and that says more about them than it does the show. To add to that, I hadn't seen Lex (the main lead) before and I thought he was very believable, poised and played the lead very well. He carried the show with the right level of decision/indecision, always right/too often wrong, which made it true to life. I have to say, episode 11 - just wow - one of the most touching episodes I've seen in a show (and trust me I've seen a lot!) - really surprised this hasn't been talked about more in the reviews. WHAT GREAT ACTING!!!!!!! congrats to everyone involved in that episode. really well done. When an episode has you thinking about it days, weeks after you've seen it, now that's great TV. Thank you.

All in all the only thing that disappointed me was the ending. Too many loose ends, a slight 'is that it? is there another episode i'm unaware of?' feeling. I expected the book to be closed but they have left it open ended. My sister liked this approach to the ending. I was not so pleased. They could have had another season now that the Corden has a new addition and see how that played out while they try to refine the cure. Also they could have developed the story about how it was managed from the outside now the evil witch has been relived of her duties lol

still - all in all really enjoyed the show and have recommended it to all searching for a new show to watch.

This show is not what it seems
arcrampton14 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I can understand why people say that they hate this show, it's completely understandable. I wasn't really too into it for the first few episodes but continued to watch out of boredom.

This show establishes your expectations and then subverts them. You expect it to play out in a certain way, you expect it to pander, you expect it to follow the formula of the whole guy gets the girl, there's a clear enemy thing. The pilot is not indicative of the whole show. If I had just watched the pilot I would have been left feeling mildly upset and mostly disappointed, but I didn't.

The show goes a lot more in depth into the motivations and lives of the characters than you think it will from the first few episodes. It deceived the audience into thinking that this is gonna be a black and white "the immigrants did it, black people are gangbangers, foreign powers are evil" kinda thing. That's not the case, it turns itself around, just keep watching. The bait and switch of the plot and focus has made this one of the most memorable disaster shows I've ever watched.

It's not perfect, some writing and acting could have been polished up, the situation is pretty unrealistic at times, but it was still worth the watch in my opinion.

The CORDON Vs Containment
Sandre-Monroe20 July 2016
OK i am here to say to everyone who know " Containment " to RUN see " THE CORDON " Original series who was the model of this remake.

1) The story Almost the same, but the action and the drama are a lot better in the original series. The first 2 episodes of the remake are very good but after that, the story become very flat and do not "horrify and shock you" same as the original story.

2) Acting inside the remake, each act is too clean, i don't have seen where they are in pain, it's too superficial and fast and very flat. It is as if the cast are inside a big supermarket and just try to reach the last bottle of cola on the last shelves. It's not realistic. Cast of the original TV show are not of course worldwide icons, Inside the original TV Show you can see pain and real emotions on faces each times the show need it! It's very a big difference, because it's realistic!

3) The Ending The remake don't gives you anything, no horror, no solution, nothing, flat like sea without any wind and boats. The original gives you Horror, all answers, and so many things. THIS IS NOT, THE SAME ENDINGS, FOR A LOT OF CHARACTERS, ON THIS TV SHOW. The original TV Show, gives you more.

I am not from the country of the original TV show and it was strange to see a TV show who was not in English, but after 3 episodes i eat them in one row! Because the original story was really hard and was more interesting in many cases.

Now, you know. I invite you, to watch the original TV show to make your own judgment.

Have Fun :)

Absolutely ridiculous
ddbeuth15 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoy a good outbreak story. This is not one of them. As you may have guessed from the title, the show is about the attempt to contain a viral outbreak in a major city. The disease is, of course, highly contagious and 100% lethal. It's a solid, tried and true premise. The pilot, which focused on the discovery of the disease, the investigation into the identity of "patient zero," and the initial effort to quarantine a large part of a large city, was reasonably well done and hooked me. Since the pilot, however, the show has nose-dived.

In this genre, I expect characters to panic and make mistakes. A bad judgment call here and there can really make the plot interesting. This goes beyond that. People within the quarantined area are allowed to move around as they please within the zone and actually do so. No effort is made to remove the bodies of those who succumb to the disease from the streets. Police enter buildings they suspect of being full of infected people with no more protection than a face visor. In fact, there's rarely a hazmat suit in sight. One of the very few police inside the quarantine area, a person who has frequent contact with all sorts of people, is also given the job of cremating the bodies of those who died at the hospital, a task he undertakes with no more protection than a pair of latex gloves. The authorities march and carry infected people through the streets without taking any precautions to keep them from spreading the disease to everyone they pass. Despite the presence of a highly contagious disease, the residents within the quarantine zone are all called to a single area to obtain food. The show's writers would also have us believe that direct study of the virus would be left solely to the only doctor left at the only hospital inside the quarantine zone. The list of dumb decisions that go against common sense and basic principles of self preservation goes on and on and on to the point that it's impossible to suspend disbelief.

The laughable quarantine plot line isn't the show's only weakness. The dialogue is often poorly written, interpersonal conflicts seem forced and don't ring true, and many of the characters are one dimensional.

I had high hopes for this series, but after watching episode seven earlier tonight, I don't think I'll be watching any more.

The Story Shows Its Seams, But There Is Dramatic Tension
atlasmb12 May 2016
"Containment" starts with a flash forward that portends a terrible future, just to add some gravitas to the early episodes. The drama starts in Atlanta, where an illegal Syrian immigrant presents symptoms that we have seen in other similar shows. When the final diagnosis comes in, the culprit is an unknown hemorrhagic avian flu that might have been weaponized.

An outbreak mobilizes the authorities from all levels of government. Soon, lines are drawn--around the area at risk, between family members who are separated, between the authorities and those who seek the truth.

There are no surprises in the first four episodes. People are stressed to their limits. Violence erupts. There are always those who defy the police for personal reasons, ignoring concerns beyond their own.

The acting is good. Some aspects of the story strain credulity, however, so I am reducing my vote accordingly. Because "Containment" has plenty of dramatic tension that anyone can identify with, many viewers will find the show engaging.

What happened after the pilot????
drezandnads19 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
If you're going take on a genre that is so over done you need to do it right!

Talk about all aspects of a production going downhill in a hurry. Plot, character development, intrigue, suspense and any elements required for the viewers enjoyment are dropped from this series like a forced fart. The pilot was decent. Decent enough to warrant workplace discussions the following day to see if anyone else had discovered the series. The talking soon changed to apologies between my workmates after the season unraveled at about the 5th episode and degenerated into a confusing, silly mess.

Very few TV series have me rush for the eject button mid season. I'm at episode 12 and have no intention of watching the final episode for risk it may further reduce my (already limited) I.Q

As an enormous fan on B Grade movies and productions i was struggling to see where this fits in my scale. The best B Grade creations are generally ones that set out to achieve and fail badly, but do so unknowingly. The point that a solid B Grade production needs ENTERTAINMENT value to warrant watching them. This even fails at that. Badly. Its not bad enough to be good. Quarantine parameters in this TV series wildly and inexplicably vary between infected patients being contained to reinforced air-tight holding cells at the hospital, to two men from either side of the cordon being able to casually meet together in a completely unmodified shipping container, with no supervision, no hazmat suits and no security screen separating them. Literally nothing to stop the virus from spreading other than them adhering to to an apparent "Please don't step past the yellow tape" rule set up by the comically arrogant and ill prepared military presence in this show. At the least the lazy writers could have written in for them to be wear face masks slung lazily around their necks (common practice within the cordon it seems)

### SPOILERS#### There are some laugh out loud moments in this series. The hoodlums that overthrow the convenience store mid season go on to storm the hospital in a fit of rage when Doctor Cannerts is blamed for the virus. They are promptly turned around by loyal crisis cop "Jake" in what is the most UN-inspired speech i have ever witnessed in my life. I'm amazed the unruly gang did not open fire on Jake for being so boring.

What was setting up to be a *decent scene when Doctor Lommers and Lex are sealed in a shipping container falls apart at the seams in a comically bad way. Over a week of life and death tension, politics and scandals have occurred to cause animosity between the two opposing authority figures and its all extinguished within 5 minutes with most poorly written dialogue in the entire season. The scene sums up the rhythmic pace of the series. A small build up for what could be a climactic point only to die a sudden death due to "high school project" level writing and production.

I rated it generously as a genuinely enjoyed the pilot. Had it blown from the first hour this abhorrent creation would have been worth zero stars. I am genuinely amazed at its current star rating on IMDb of 7.2.

For a limited budget presentation, Containment shines
gamgra10 December 2016
Stumbled upon Containment browsing Netflix for something to do on a rainy Saturday night, and never expected something so captivating and moving such as Containment. The plot was believable, acting was great, and writing and production was excellent. I was choked up a few times throughout the series, and what made it more compelling was how I arrived at the show feeling prepared to be amused for a short time, perhaps an episode or two, and move on like the rest.

It didn't turn out that way; I was glued to the television, which I rarely am, and I pretty much watched the entirety within a few days. There were highs and lows, sadness and happiness, but throughout was excitement. I was saddened to hear the series would not be renewed, as this story could definitely go on, perhaps with the virus spreading outside the cordon. There are a few loose ends to be tied up as well, and they definitely left it open to be continued. Haven't really heard of CW since now, whom I highly recommend giving this series a second look.

Enjoy!

Good plot, but lacks disease outbreak knowledge which is the entire premise
thecowgirlisnot4 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I started watching this TV series with high hopes. After all, I just finished a class on epidemiology and major disease outbreaks. For months I studied these topics, and expected the procedures to be used in this show. The writers fell short on the medical front big time.

After reading several reviews I realized not a single person commented on this topic, so I feel the need to reassure people of a few things. In the real world people would not be placed in isolation without medical care to live out their days. Doctors and nurses would be wearing hazmat suits, and taking care of the patients around the clock developing a pattern profile of the disease.

Secondly, and this hurts because I come with a veterinary background, rats are not used to test every virus' cure. The fact that this show sloppily leaves out these key details makes it scarier to viewers, and almost laughable to those knowledgeable on the subject.

The CW makes amazing shows, but it really dropped the ball on this one. If they had correct medical representation it would be a 9/10 for me. The plot is great, but it could be even better.

CONTAINMENT - An interesting premise, good show, will continue to watch
DelphineCormier26 April 2016
Great show, and great direction I have seen a lot of shows over my life. Some bad, some good. This one I'd give about 8. The show is very well done with the storyline of the virus outbreak and containing everyone, and it really gets you thinking of how people would really react in a situation like that. Badly. Loved ones separated during the quarantine, ones being isolated in rooms and going crazy, I don't want to spoil anything but the way the virus outbreak affects people in this series is the way it'd affect people in real life. Only con is that they are introducing too many characters to follow at the beginning, instead of focusing on one or two so they can begin to grow on us. Instead of 8 per 5 minutes, give us 3 per 5 minutes, but that's not too big of an issue. Love the show. Ironically enough, I'm watching this show while I have a cold bug, and am on bed rest, so this is pretty relatable at the moment haha. Will continue to watch!

A good binge watch
bugout9955 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched the entire season in 2 evenings. Is it a new idea? No. The oldest one on the same subject I can think of is "Outbreak" from 1995, and I'm sure there are plenty that go back further than that. Is it a well produced story? Yes, I think so. The character growth of Jake in particular is wonderfully done. Katie is the school teacher there with her kids on a field trip, and she gives Jake - a police officer - just the right amount of a wake-up slap when she says in her teacher voice "there are a bunch of 11 year olds who are handling this better than you!". There is even a death scene (in a show about a lot of death) that actually made me cry - I can't remember the last time I cried at a TV show. I haven't seen the shows that other reviewers are unfavourably comparing this to, but as a show to watch, I would recommend it.

Suspenseful show that shows the internal struggles as well as external
i-dodge21 May 2016
I don't know where all the hate is coming from with this show! It isn't racist in the slightest. I wasn't sure when I watched previews whether or not I would like it because it looked like it might turn out to be one of those "protagonists rebel against evil secret-keeping government" shows, but I was pleasantly surprised. They do a fantastic job balancing showing the emotions of the characters and having character development with the furthering of the plot. They manage to show the struggle behind every decision made, inside and out of the Cordon, and it helps that the actors and actresses do a pretty good job in their roles. I know a lot of shows that try to shove the conflict in your face trying to convince you "this is the suspenseful part! You should be scared now!" But containment doesn't do that, and manages to build tension in a way that sneaks up on you. I am always looking forward to next week's episode. You should definitely try it out-you might be pleasantly surprised too

Disappointing acting and many unrealistic details
jonf3n7 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I had high hopes for this, but found it increasingly difficult to get past the bad acting (mainly Lex and Sabine Lommers). Jake and Katie were good though and captured some of the intensity of falling in love during a crisis.

The main characters obsess over wearing rubber gloves at all times, when sleeping, even afraid to shake hands with those gloves. Then they spend the whole show touching their mouths and faces -- but are fine. Having an infected person bump into you can be deadly. Someone dies violently spurting blood all over in episode 12, but wipe them with a napkin dipped and water and they are no longer contagious! Finally the rubber gloves can safely come off for the first time to touch them.

Women somehow keep their hair done and wear makeup each day for weeks of chaos. Thomas (the kid) was horrible -- always cheery after his dad kidnaps him from the hospital with a gun, then the family dies violently, the kid lives on the streets a few days and is then quarantined and then ends up in the middle of a mob, then he's stuck back in quarantine. But still smiling.

The main group who holds up in the data recovery center had this kinda isolation airlock, and quarantines people in there periodically. Then they open it and let others walk through, pass boxes of food through, etc.

In the last episode they are running through tunnels as the the ceiling collapses and coughing from all the dust... as dust masks hang around their necks.

Yeah, it was worth watching I suppose, but a missed opportunity to make something great.

A Realistic Scenario in an Unrealistic Show
SomeBlueDevil1 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
We've all "witnessed" the Ebola crisis and unwittingly learned a lot about how a contagious disease spreads. Except for the makers of this show. Apparently, they don't know anything about even the most basic bio hazard handling protocol, let alone combating a deadly virus. I learned more in a Red Cross CPR training course about personal safety equipment and coming in contact with bodily fluids.

I did enjoy the make up. The sick people definitely looked awesome. The premise was not original but as I said, definitely realistic in terms of a pandemic breaking out, that is. The how's and why's are a different matter.

Most of the characters are likable and relatable, the writing is OK to a point. But the blatant disregard of the makers as to how this would really play out, especially a stone's throw away from the CDC headquarters, makes this show cringe-worthy.

I'm hearing it got canceled. And that sounds like a good idea to me...

A must see, now more so than ever!
michelle_kummer23 August 2021
With all that's going on right now during the pandemic this tv series is a must see.

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment, my heart skipped a beat a few times as this could well happen to us. It shows how people get when they are in fear of the unknown. Humans can become like animals, whilst others genuinely help those in need. As they say it's survival of the fittest, In a dog eat dog world.

Let's hope this never happens here.

Please make a season 2 this show is far too good to stop now.

Alright attempt at drama - often painfully inaccurate
mike-ryan4555 May 2016
I am not an epidemiologist. But my job required me to go through the CDC's Ebola isolation preparation training this week in preparation for any emergencies with Zika virus. I'd had it before but when I watched this show the training happened to be very fresh in my mind. I couldn't help compare it with the ridiculously ill prepared and amateurish the doctors seemed in Containment as they struggled.

It wasn't just the medical staff that struggled. Any easy excuse for drama was used, right down to cops throwing temper tantrums. We have overused dramatic stereotype after stereotype when simple logic would have worked completely differently. Oh, we have thousands of people contained within a few city blocks. There would be dozens of escape attempts. They showed one - ridiculously simple. That one escape attempt would have been stopped instantly if the Governor would have done the first logical thing which would be to call in the National Guard and position them all around the perimeter with rifles and to have sharp shooters behind them covering every inch of the line. Why didn't they? I think so they could have another cop temper tantrum.

Drama, drama, drama everywhere. Am I in the mood for more of their drama? I don't know. Maybe. Depends on my mood. I up voted it one point for being Sci Fi themed, rounding it up to a seven out of ten.

The perfect storm of terrible writing and acting.
brandon-23418 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This show is the entertainment equivalent of an abortion. They started out with the promise of something great, and through the magic of epically awful writing and acting that is difficult to watch, they effectively turned it into one of the worst productions to be found on network television. I would compare this show to the abysmal 'Sharknado' franchise offerings... But sadly their intention was not to fall into the "it's stupid and we know it" category.

Everything about this show is unrealistic -- and that is something that could almost be forgivable with descent acting. But while I'd be willing to go down a science fiction rabbit hole for the sake of the story, I can't swallow a story with truly unbelievable character interactions. The ridiculous interplay between characters while a supposed quarantine is in place is beyond absurd, bordering on moronic. And the combination of abhorrent writing and bad acting with the elderly interracial couple is some next level buffoonery that will make any sane person's eyes roll so frequently they may have a seizure. Add to that the utterly ridiculous notion that a teenage boy would not only want to break into a quarantine zone with a deadly outbreak, but have the wherewithal to somehow find a way in past hundreds of police officers and national guard, and you have, by far, one of the worst shows ever produced. It is no wonder this wretched turd was canceled three episodes in... Its a hard no!

I truly do not understand how this show has ranked so high unless creators have paid for 5 star ratings to try and salvage their tattered reputation... Especially now as they are turning the narrative to a government conspiracy aimed at infecting our own people (I believe)... Because it wasn't unrealistic and far fetched enough!

Hooked
fcalavish23 April 2016
The very first episode hooked me. Eagerly looking forward for the next one, I was kinda desperate to know what will happen next and that made me give 8/10, casting is great, act is fine and the graphics are amazing the intensity hits on the right spot. though it's a very common idea zombie thing and a old one too but classic. Containment puts this classic idea in a unique way. I said zombies but it's little non zombie I believe, I'm sure you will love watching it. i was not bored it's not slow, but i'm afraid that it will become slowish in upcoming episodes. I hope that I don't have to change my opinion. they nailed it in the first one but I'm unsure about what's coming. Peace out LC

You either love it or hate it

So I think this a time where I am rather baffled by reviews on IMDB. Glowing over-the-top fantastic ones vs let's burn the film then stir the ashes with a stick so it doesn't reanimate. I liked it. I'm a ridiculous mutitasker and will do online whatever with my phone while watching (read: listening to) shows. I put down the phone with this show. An English speaking show. The whole time. Granted, ever since I read The Stand by King at 11 yrs old, I've been fascinated with viral, end of the world sagas (with or without zombies) so the premise is one of my favorite genres in horror/thriller. Here's what you need to know. Yes, they take some damned liberties with the medical aspect. But, c'mon people, would you seriously watch a show where you have nothing but scientists testing unknown viral agents at the CDC? Y'know, a process that could take months or years with average looking doctors in lab coats?? What transpires after a 100% mortality rate virus reeks havoc thru a small portion of a city can happen. Quarantine can and has happened. Do they take dramatic license? Of course. It's FICTION. The acting? I did not see what some of the 1 star reviewers saw. The acting is fine, occasionally quite good. And, dear god, being a horror junkie, I've watched some seriously cringeworthy movies with the most stilted of scripts. That is not this series. It warrants a viewing. At least at the pilot. Not for you, move along. I will say there's no way this is less than 6 stars.
