When Chantel and Pedro Jimeno joined the cast of 90 Day Fiance in 2016, they quickly became one of the franchise’s most well-known couples. They weren’t the only ones who viewers loved, though. Chantel’s family also became very popular. So popular, in fact that they were given a spin-off series which debuted in 2019. The series, The Family Chantel, was named after Pedro’s nickname for the Everetts. The show has become a huge hit among 90 Day Fiance fans who simply can’t get enough of Chantel’s family’s antics. Melrose Place alum, Grant Show has been tapped to take on the role in the pilot, and we could not be more excited.
He was most recently a regular on Lifetime's dearly departed Devious Maids. In short, he's no stranger to soapy dramas.

Big Bang Theory: Laurie Metcalf's Daughter Zoe Perry to Play Mom to Young Sheldon in Prequel Spinoff
Talk about putting the meta in metaphysics: Laurie Metcalf’s real-life actress-daughter Zoe Perry is being eyed to play the mother of Young Sheldon in CBS’ in-the-works prequel spinoff. Metcalf, as you know, currently recurs on Big Bang as the mother of Adult Sheldon (Jim Parsons).
Additionally, as TVLine just reported, Parsons’ prepubescent predecessor is set to be portrayed by Big Little Lies breakout Iain Armitage.
The untitled offshoot — which has yet to receive a formal pilot order from CBS — would center on a young Sheldon growing up in Texas. Parsons will executive-produce along with Big Bang co-creator Chuck Lorre and current showrunner Steve Molaro.

One of the problems that comes from being a hardcore fan of films is that most of your time is spent trying to enjoy your passion despite the shackles of a medium that is plagued with repetition and paint-by-numbers efforts. If you see more than a dozen movies a year, it isn’t long before you’re trapped in the tedium of not simply knowing that the good guys are probably going to win, but who is going to turn out to be the double-crosser as soon as you see them, why and when the rom-com couple are going to have their second act “distancing” they have to overcome, and on and on.
This is why certain writers and directors can get a jump on popularity just off the back of putting something out that makes you sit up and notice that you have no idea what’s going to happen.

The superhero drama series “Supergirl” has found a new cast member. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series has picked Floriana Lima for the regular role of Maggie Sawyer, the gay DC Comics character who appeared in both the “Superman” and “Batman” comics series. The addition of Maggie Sawyer to the series continues executive producer Greg Berlanti’s mission to make established properties more inclusive, often by explicitly changing the ethnicity and sexuality of characters. In an interview with THR earlier this year, “I wanted to contemporize these comics that I loved growing up and have them reflect the society that we live in now. It’s still about working in some of those very real qualities so that everyone feels represented.”

The cast of Supergirl continues to grow, and the latest addition is Floriana Lima (The Family). She'll be a recurring presence in The CW series moving forward and is set to star as Maggie Sawyer. Created by John Byrne, the character first appeared as a member of the Metropolis Special Crimes Unit in 1987 dealing with metahuman threats. She would later be revealed to be a lesbian in the pages of Superman and ended up embarking on a romantic relationship with fan-favourite superhero, Batwoman. This version of the character is described as being, "a detective for the National City Police Department who takes a special interest in the cases involving aliens." That may be a sign that we'll be moving away from the Deo, no bad thing now that Alex Danvers and Martian Manhunter are no longer part of the organisation as they set out to learn the truth behind the the fate of Alex's father.

In addition to those three movies, the Best Movie category is rounded out by “Concussion” and “Straight Outta Compton.” The acting races pit Kerry Washington against Viola Davis, Michael B. Jordan against Idris Elba, and more. Samuel L. Jackson and “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams will both receive special honors, the former with the Lifetime Achievement Award and the latter with the Humanitarian Award. There’s also planned tributes to the late Muhammad Ali and Prince.

Because The Family TV show was cancelled, last night's first season finale on ABC was also TV series finale. The Family, "What Took So Long," was a cliffhanger, to say the least. The Family TV series creator, Jenna Bans, says the season one cliffhanger was always in the cards for the drama series.
Reportedly Bans and company have a lot of stories ready to go for a second season, should the show starring Joan Allen Rupert Graves, Alison Pill, Zack Gilford, and Liam James get picked up by another network. Spoilers Below!

The Betta will attack and kill them! The only place that metaphor would directly apply is between the real Adam Warren and “Adam” Ben (Liam James). Hmmm…supposedly Adam “just got sick…. My reaction to the first half of The Family, “All the Livelong Day” is in the ballpark of some of my reactions to the 2015 film, Room. It’s not simply because both feature someone captured and held in a small living space for some deranged man to regularly sexually assault whomever he’s captured. Nor are my reactions because the actress Joan Allen was featured in Room and is starring in The Family. The two characters, Claire Warren in The Family and Jack’s grandmother Nancy in Room, are so different from each other that if you didn’t see the credits you might not immediately realize it’s the same
