Damien is reluctantly dragged by Amani Golkar, who withholds they're being fired for no due cause, to mud slide-killed Kelly's funeral, where Damien must rush out in malaise, followed by mysterious fellow atheist Ann Rutledge, who assures him to have known his father well and promises many answers. After the Vatican mobilizes against the anti-Christ, a Manhattan confessional is used for the macabre recruitment of a skilled killer and arming him with one of seven Biblical daggers, who fails to eliminate Damien, who just gets the police suspicious, but is rescued again by attorney Sheridan. While Amani visits Kelly's shocked sister Simone, they wonder about her notebook clues focusing on the Thorns.
